Love this. Although technically it's not a spelling mistake, it's a grammatical mistake. Like how folks will also use "seen" incorrectly. "Today I seen a cloud hole."
In OPs case, sawed is spell correctly. "I sawed a hole in the cloud." Is grammatically correct if they cut a hole in the cloud with a saw, but not when they seen it. I mean saw it with their eyes. 😊
