Ruined by Technology Translator I pay responded with this to my most recent translation request
She just lost $60usd worth of work.
This is mildly infuriating because I do appreciate her redirecting people to free options but I purposely didn’t go to AI for a reason. She’s actively losing money by telling people AI can do her job.

Ruined by Technology Apparently AI Can Generate Fake "Speedpaints" Now
Every single frame of this video is AI-generated.
It has become too convincing and believable for the average viewer. We are reaching a point where only professional artists can notice the fakery?

Ruined by Technology Booking.com charged me AND the hotel charged me. Both are pointing the finger at the other.
Both charged me for the same stay and both are pointing the finger at the other. I'm in the middle of a move, had to be out of my old place yesterday but my new place isn't ready until the 2nd. Now I can't afford gas or groceries until my next pay day, a week from now, unless one of them refunds me before then. They are both pointing the finger at the other and I don't know which one to do a charge back on. I've never done a charge back before. (Booking.com supposedly told the hotel my card was declined, despite my card being charged, and the hotel charged my card. So I've paid twice for the same stay)

Ruined by Technology Bad advice: I asked Google how to best heat up ears of corn and it suggested I start a fire
I asked Google to see what the search engine suggested, at the top A.I had a different idea what to do (involving a microwave and tinfoil 😳).

Ruined by Technology “Virtually staged” homes on Redfin
I understand adding a plant or a chair to make the house look like a home to make it more appealing. But taking out walls or entire sets of stairs that let you access a room is mildly infuriating. Also fuck this ai shit

Ruined by Technology Why feel the need to ruin a perfectly good comic strip with AI "enhancement"?
Something about Calvin's expression threw me off, then I noticed the nonsense posters & book titles. As someone who grew up reading Calvin & Hobbes collections on repeat, this is frustrating. What on earth is wrong with just posting the original strip without having to ruin it with AI??

Ruined by Technology I've been getting spammed with these dirt cheap offers on LinkedIn recently
I've been getting spammed in emails already, and social media is filled with bots, scammers. I guess LinkedIn's next.

Ruined by Technology Microsoft Edge uses up 6x the space for doing nothing
My Windows installed laptop. While cleaning up I realised that Microsoft Edge - which I never once used, and which came preinstalled and unable to uninstall (trust me, I tried) - occupies 6x the space that Chrome uses. Chrome being in operation 24x7 btw. Screw you Microsoft

Ruined by Technology Uber driver claimed I threw up in his vehicle, got charged an extra $90 cleaning fee.
I was coming home from the pub around 2AM... because I work there lol. Uber support was generally useless, transferring me from agent to agent (see: bots) and stringing me along despite my clear communication. Thankfully I was able to get my money refunded after more and more transfers. Why the fuck am I apologizing to a bot. I love being a customer in 2026

Ruined by Technology AI generated school introductions :(
My brother's 6th grade class using ai to generate these introduction notes. Feels like it definitely takes away from the creative process.

Ruined by Technology As someone with a hyphenated last name, I hate this
Certain websites will just not take my last name. Like sure all I have to do is remove the hyphen, but like come on.
Then I get mail from Best Buy that just completely screws it up. The second part of my last name is put as my first name, the first part as the last, and then my first name's initial is in the middle.

Ruined by Technology No screenshots. No more paper tickets. No more mementos.
I love going to concerts. My fun fact is “I attended 100 concerts before I turned 21.” I have so many ticket stubs. I love my ticket stubs!! Technology has made stubs no more.
They could at least let us take a screenshot AFTER the ticket has been scanned. This concert was yesterday. Today I can’t even take a screenshot. No shit a screenshot won’t get you in. The concert was yesterday. Let me take a damn screenshot for my memories 😭😤
Edit: people say to take a screen recording. It doesn’t work. I tried starting screen recording then open app. It doesn’t let you “view ticket.” I also tried “view ticket” and the screen turns black/doesn’t screen record.
Also. People are saying “have a friend take a picture on their phone” and “use another phone.” I go to almost all my concerts alone so that doesn’t work. I also don’t have another phone to take a picture of the phone in my hand.
Finally. When I can. I absolutely do go to the box office and pay for a paper ticket. Sometimes the staff is nice and doesn’t even take the money and gives the paper ticket for free. I also do my best to wait till the day of the show and buy a ticket at the box office. Not always possible as shows sell out or the good seats aren’t available. Also, sometimes, when you buy at the box office they will literally text you a confirmation receipt that is a link to the ticket barcode. So that doesn’t always work either.
