Would be funny to sit on the seat across from her

842

u/GlowUpper 8h ago

I did this once. Full train, older dude was sitting with his feet on the seat across from him. I walked over, made eye contact with him, and stood next to the seat he had his feet on. Ya know, the universal signal for "Move your feet, I'd like to sit here." He looked dead at me and then turned his gaze straight forward without moving. So I took it up a notch and sat on the edge of the seat. Still nothing from him.

So I decided, fuck it, if he's gonna be rude and selfish, I'm gonna do the same. I swung my body around to the front pf the seat, knocking his feet off and settled in. As if he wasn't acting entitled enough already, he then had the audacity to sit straight up and started stuttering and stammering like he couldn't believe what I'd done. He started looking around at the other passengers as if trying to appeal to them but no one would make eye contact. Then, hand to god, he got up and practically ran to the end of the train car and then got off at the next stop.

Long story short, yeah, if you're the kind of person who isn't afraid of a little confrontation, sit directly across from these people. They do this shit because they expect everyone around them to shrug their shoulders and slink away.

Great advice. There’s always a risk of a rare violent asshole but most people like this just bank on you not doing anything about it.

47

u/GlowUpper 3h ago

Good point and I would not recommend doing these things if you don't have any means to protect yourself in case you do come across a violent asshole (in my case, I carry a stun gun).

5

u/onehundredpumpchump 3h ago

Your photo is so good and I love the advice :)

u/MoeKneeKah GREEN 9h ago

I’d be planting my ass there so fast and make a big show over how grateful I was to find an available seat. Bonus points for “accidentally” bumping into her legs so she falls on the filthy floor.

Not everyone is as soft as you..

-52

u/SirPsycho7 8h ago

lol, ok Reddit person. The home of tough guys.

19

u/bluehelmet 7h ago

It really doesn't take much toughness to do that.

11

u/kelsey_schmelsey 8h ago

Okay edgelord

11

u/ElPadrote 9h ago

And then everybody clapped.

-16

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 9h ago

Reddit people.

All talk, no action.

5

u/jellifercuz 6h ago

You are one of those Reddit people but speaking only for yourself

-176

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 9h ago edited 9h ago

Hahahaha assaulting people!

That is so funny!!!

🙄

97

u/AdScared7949 9h ago

Pearl clutching lol

-127

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 9h ago

Knocking someone out of their seat is assault.

That’s stupid behavior most Redditors would be too afraid to do in real life.

67

u/heavy-hands 8h ago

Hey bud I don’t think it’s all that serious

-103

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 8h ago

Assault is assault.

Do that in front of a police officer and see what happens.

70

u/heavy-hands 8h ago

Again I am telling you that you’re taking these comments too seriously lol. No one is talking about the police.

-19

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 8h ago

You are delusional.

Seek help

71

u/impossibletree26 7h ago

You seem really stupid. Just an observation from an observer who painfully read your comment thread.

28

u/Howie_Due 5h ago

It’s self reflection time, big dog. When a group of strangers are telling you it’s you then it probably is.

8

u/Sea-Climate6841 3h ago edited 3h ago

Guarantee if anyone did so, then not a single fucking thing would happen. You honestly believe any cop, in any country, would look to process an assault charge over this?

55

u/AdScared7949 9h ago

Doubling down, clutching harder

-13

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 8h ago

You’re a top 1% commentator lol

Touch grass

27

u/Daved__ 5h ago

And you're commenting in a thread on reddit. Nobody wins

21

u/decoy321 5h ago

I hereby declare you the winner.

Congrats! Let's celebrate!!

9

u/Sea-Climate6841 3h ago

I’ve run out of free awards today, but if I had any you’d deserve one (not least for still putting up with Sun-4891 nonsense replies!)

The irony of Sun4891 telling people to touch grass, despite being adamant that if someone were to do this, they’d be charged with assault. It’s not lost, that although they understand the loosest possible definition of assault, they fail to acknowledge context, nuance, and societal process.

33

u/bluejeanshorts22 9h ago

Haha somebody did something similar. also, he was a dude lol.

11

u/Sea-Climate6841 3h ago

People seriously need to get a grip on reality for the constitution of assault and the realistic outcome.

Let’s say, this commenter did that, sat down, and by doing so knocked them over.
What’s to say at that ‘exact’ point it was intentional to knock them over.
Also, should a cop even attend a call for something so trivial, you think they’d take all the details, complete the paperwork at the station and log it as an assault charge, or perhaps mark it as ‘no charge found’.
Let’s say, even if it was marked as an assault charge, you think this is ever getting to court, and prosecuted?

I get there are some Redditor’s (this is you, directly, Sun4891) who might understand the very definition of certain words, even those in a legal sense…but who fail to also understand real life, who misread context, and fail to comprehend nuance, yet tell other people to “touch grass” - buddy, you need to take your own advice.

Stop clutching your pearls and understand society functions, sometimes, on the basis of fairness, and comeuppance.

And for your further comment below, if someone did actually do this in front of a cop, I could almost guarantee nothing would happen.

4

u/aunas 6h ago

And if she says anything just rip the LOUDEST fart every time she talks!

-95

u/Jumpy_Implement_1902 8h ago

She probably has her shoes on and planted them on the seat. You might get hepatitis if you sat down

67

u/skip_over 8h ago

I don’t think that’s how that works

42

u/Apart_Pineapple2392 8h ago

I do this and act oblivious. Ill even give an "oh shit, my bad" and then go def and just start scrolling reddit on the phone.

16

u/Acceptable-Net-891 5h ago

This is definitely not a her

6

u/Ypuort 5h ago

I just said her without thinking because I see women dressed like that more often than men, but on a second examination I see no evidence of a particular gender in any direction.

-8

u/icehot54321 1h ago

Girls are typically the ones that do this and there isn’t a way to tell

So not definitely

428

u/Sensitive_Slice_8858 9h ago

I mean, I would just sit down. I’ve just about had it with antisocial jackass behavior, and I’m not afraid of confrontation anymore unless someone is visibly unwell.

89

u/texangadfly 5h ago

A grown adult was kicking the back of my seat on the bus a while back. I turned around and made eye contact and said “are you kicking my seat?” He looked like a terrified child and said “noooo 🥺” then the kicking stopped

20

u/gnome_in_clay_turn 5h ago

Yeah, in live in a quiet neighborhood that Waze frequently reroutes people through to avoid busier thoroughfares causing many, many blocks of traffic and people honking- since they don’t see the lights three and a half blocks away.

Now I straight up don’t mind shaming people for honking and adding to noise pollution, making the neighborhood unpleasant for the residents. Do I sometimes get told that I’m a “Stupid bitch” who should mind my own business? Yes. Is the irony lost on me? Nope.

68

u/heavy-hands 9h ago

Bag thrown onto their legs on the window seat and my ass sat promptly in the aisle seat across from them. Unbroken eye contact. People who do what this guy is doing are so fucking lame.

-31

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 8h ago

You did that? That's dangerous!

-30

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 8h ago

What if they kicked you?

22

u/Sensitive_Slice_8858 7h ago

I have pepper gel if someone chooses to assault me

2

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 7h ago

Gel???

16

u/Ryuu-Orochi 6h ago

Non-gel pepper spray is easily inhaled in closed spaces. Gel travels to its target.

5

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 6h ago

Thanks. Maybe I will buy some!

3

u/steponmedaddies 2h ago

It’s good stuff! Carry both just in case but the gel is good if you’re on transit or need to blast someone using a phone in a theater

1

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 2h ago

Using a phone? I'll confused at every step now 😭😂

1

u/steponmedaddies 2h ago

1

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 2h ago

Oh I mis read. Someone was sprayed for using their phone. That's brutal. But they were on their phone during a movie can't blame them

6

u/Lucario576 7h ago

Lv 5 Pepper Spray

84

u/cat_like_sparky 6h ago

Just sit down, honestly. Last time I got on a full bus and the only spare seat was taken up by a bag, I picked it up and dropped it on the woman’s lap and sat down. Not a word was said, we didn’t acknowledge each other beyond that. They know they’re being rude, don’t give them a chance to dig their heels in.

63

u/Theslootwhisperer 5h ago

I (slightly) sat on a lady's groceries in Montreal once. Full bus, Asian lady is taking one seat and a few grocery bags on the seat next to her. I asked politely, in French, if she could move her bags while pointing at the bags then her. She shrugs and shakes her head like she didn't understand me. I switch to English and repeat what I said, with the gesture, in case she's new here and doesn't speak the language. Same result. So I start sitting on the bags and she starts cursing me in perfectly accented French Canadian. Oh! Suddenly the bitch can talk!

8

u/AJRimmer1971 2h ago

She understood. She said no. 😅

Now she has crushed womboks!

163

u/Depressed_Cat_00 9h ago

What bothers me most about this pic is shoes on a public train seat.

49

u/jlck_ 8h ago

people who take their shoes off on public transit are disgusting

82

u/katieb1300 8h ago

Keep your feet of the seats.

29

u/byzantine238 8h ago

If only there was a way for people to not take their shoes off and also not put their nasty feet on seats

18

u/heavy-hands 8h ago

That’s what you think the solution is? Just don’t put your feet on the seats dude lol no one is talking about taking your shoes off.

-18

u/IDontKnowMyUsernameq 7h ago

Troll comment

-14

u/truemad 8h ago

When I bring this up, I am being downvoted. Apparently, it's acceptable in the USA.

7

u/patrdesch 3h ago

"Move" is a full sentence in this case.

8

u/jujoking 8h ago

I've sat on top of someone's backpack once. I'd have no issues sitting across them, specifically at the window seat

6

u/SqAznPersuasion 7h ago

I'd walk next to her head, turn cheeks and rip thick ass right in her face.

5

u/Sea-Climate6841 4h ago

Sounds like an impromptu seat move is needed, right opposite him. Even perhaps, with your leg crossed so that it inadvertently prevents him from putting his feet on the seat next to you.

Fucking winds me up, shit like this. About 10 months ago I was on a packed commuter train leaving London and a guy decided to ‘retain’ the aisle seat next to him with his work satchel - I asked him to move it so I could sit down, he refused so I just dropped all 115kg of me on top of it. I don’t care what’s in your bag pal, there’s a seat and it’s busy.

7

u/DConstructed 3h ago

That’s deliberate because they don’t want anyone sitting there.

But you can go up and cheerfully say “pardon me!” Then sit down and Ask “could you move your feet?”

2

u/BrobonicPlague1 8h ago

Clearly not almost full enough

8

u/mineawesomeman 10, 9, 8, 7, 5, 4, 6, 2, 3, 0 8h ago

New Haven line train on a sunday afternoon? there are going to be a bunch of people standing only, sitting like that is unacceptable. hope a conductor asked him to sit up

3

u/No_King_4556 6h ago

What an asshole

3

u/youuuuwish 3h ago

Head looks to be at right about fart height... go stand next to them and rip a beefer. They'll sit up real quick.

3

u/lumifox 1h ago

Redditors when you dont confront someone:"Wow you pathetic introvert fuck, why dont you just go up and ask them, everything will always 100% be perfectly fine! Someone doing this is just a big softy and its a desperate cry for help, Just go up and sit on their face and assert dominance!"

Redditors when you have to start throwing punches cause things instantly got violent and you're in a confined space on public transport:"Wow you took that too far!, dont you realize they could have fallen and hit their head at a perfectly 37° angle on the chair and instantly died!??! , You could have just walked away!? Why did you confront someone instead of minding your own business!?!?!, its so obvious that they were going to be antisocial and violent and just looking for a fight!!!"

24

u/t0matit0 8h ago

Are there people standing unable to sit? Has someone spoken to them? I get that this type of behavior looks dumb but if the train fills up and you need a seat you walk over and simply ask them to please move. If they comply, then why bother ever even being mildly infuriated by this, especially if it doesn't affect you.

20

u/bluehelmet 7h ago

You usually don't even have to ask. Just start to sit down, no grandstanding, no performance. Most people will just straighten up/yield the space.

20

u/versaliaesque 8h ago

Because that's how a society functions. We shame people for acting this way, even if it doesn't affect us personally, because it's not acceptable.

-10

u/t0matit0 6h ago

It's not acceptable to utilize some extra space that is in no way actually needed by anyone at the time? This whole post is such an asinine overreaction to something that may not even be an issue if the person immediately moves once those seats are needed.

4

u/Administrative_Two3 3h ago

their feet are on the seats too which is disgusting

5

u/namelessspeck 3h ago

I assure you, on public transit, feat in the seat is the smallest contributor to gross seats.

0

u/Administrative_Two3 2h ago

while i agree, it’s still a contributor nonetheless.

5

u/PowermanFriendship 4h ago

I get your point but at the same time, people in public treating 4 seats like a personal mattress is valid mildly infuriating.

1

u/haleakala420 1h ago

yeah i’m with you. if no one is standing, MYOB.

1

u/jesuscoituschrist 6h ago

it affects me as a member of society

-6

u/Master_Victory2810 5h ago

Lol its not even that full on there so OP is complaining about nothing.

If it was full and people were left standing ok then its a reasonable complaint, but this is just pathetic.

2

u/InfiniteGays 3h ago

Everybody’s trying to get a ticket to go, but those who go, they don’t come back (they get murdered for taking up 4 seats on the train)

3

u/sweatboxy 8h ago

Letting you know in advance that this is a selfish, self-centered asshole is something I appreciate before I sit down across from them. Any other seat is gonna be a better place to sit.

5

u/Zealousideal-Sun4891 9h ago

OP, go take a seat there instead of being another passive Redditor who gets annoyed and just posts on Reddit for the Karma

4

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 8h ago

Whats the issue, most human's have a mouth to speak!

7

u/kearneycation 3h ago

Not all of us enjoy confronting strangers about their behaviour, hence this being mildly infuriating.

1

u/tiktoktic 1h ago

🎶 Wait for me, I’m coming 🎶

•

u/Nuo_Vibro 15m ago

violence would ensue

1

u/SayRaySF 8h ago

I’d just yell at them to move their fucking legs and then sit down. But I like starting shit 🤷

0

u/Numerous-Ad6460 8h ago

Foldem in half. Kick to the groin

1

u/The-Father-Time 7h ago

Why don’t people just speak up then, to many people happy to run to social media instead of having a conversation

-14

u/Silent_Swing4673 9h ago

The train isn’t full.

14

u/PupLondon Doive on In 9h ago

The title says "Almost Full," meaning it isnt full.

10

u/Sensitive_Slice_8858 9h ago

Are you on the train?

-12

u/Silent_Swing4673 9h ago

The title says the train isn’t full.

10

u/Many-Hour8219 9h ago

What was the point of the comment then

-8

u/Silent_Swing4673 9h ago

It’s not infuriating at all. The train isn’t full. No one is left standing. OP, much like the people in this community, are quick to anger over nothing

2

u/Many-Hour8219 9h ago

It's almost full and more seat being taken up means more ppl standing which is inconvenient for both the ppl standing and sitting

2

u/not_another_IT_guy 8h ago

You have no evidence to support that people are forced to stand.

-6

u/Many-Hour8219 8h ago

I never said ppl are forced to stand but when trains are full some ppl stand..

-1

u/CaveCanem234 8h ago

If there are actually no seats left, those people can just... ask this person to move?

Nobody has actually been inconvenienced yet, if someone triedcto sit down and the person in the pic refused, then sure, but as it is tbisvis just a bunch of neckbeards screaming about how DARE someone be comfortable on public transport.

-1

u/Many-Hour8219 8h ago

I'm just explaining why they're infuriated

Taking up four seats is antisocial but taking a photo of a stranger and uploading it to social media to complain about them is also antisocial. Just ask her to move.

-9

u/Bustamonte6 9h ago

What’s “almost full”

1

u/truemad 9h ago

Are you trying to justify this behaviour?

-11

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 8h ago

Go outside and socialize with human beings!!

0

u/truemad 8h ago

I guess "feet on the seat on the public transportation" is one of those western values that I won't be able to understand.

0

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 8h ago

But thats not the issue here. Im going off the caption. And i agree that thats a dude.

-15

u/Least_Bat1259 8h ago

The only thing mildly infuriating about this post, is that you’re so comfortable taking pics of strangers and not minding your own business. It would be different if the person was an asshole if asked to move for other people to sit.

-1

u/BobcatSpiritual7699 9h ago

Not if I was on there….

-11

u/Foreign-Range-7208 8h ago
