Mmu cyberjaya is getting expensive

Previously, I paid 1.3k per subject. This semester i noticed that core subjects have been priced to rm 2.5k and credit hours has been increased to 4 from 3 to extort more money from students. That makes it roughly 10k for 3 core subject+ 1 elective and(or) MPU. Not cheap at all. Their facilities are subpar and the classroom table is from 90s. Projector also not working and toilet also has no tissue rolls sometimes..

The fees they charge is exorbitant and the student culture is almost dead. At this point put your money in better college like taylors or sunway.

At least you're getting some decent facilities and good student culture/ exposure to good environment.

Dont get me started about the shuttle bus service. Mostly foreigners will flock it and locals cannot get seat inside the musty smelly bus.

Monash/sunway/waterfront residents

• Upvotes

Hey guys! All of you that go to monash or sunway uni or are staying at waterfront, where do you guys get budget friendly meals that are actually good? Ive been here for a little while and i cant seem to find a proper meal under 20 rm and im very quickly just blowing through my budget
Before i got here i was convinced i could find a good meal under 10Rm and i really cant spend more than 20 on food daily, so breakfast and dinner…

Also ive noticed that most students here dont really have a budget and theyre just kinda okay with spending 30-50 on a single meal… i don’t know though

How do UM students use public buses when the UM shuttle isn’t operating?

Hi! I’m a new international student at UM and I’m a little confused about the bus situation .

The UM Touch app has a shuttle bus tracker, but I think the UM shuttle doesn’t seem to be operating right now.

I downloaded Moovit and it’s showing some public buses that I could take around UM.

My question is: how do I pay for these buses?

I understand that Rapid KL buses use Touch ’n Go, but I’m having trouble with the Touch ’n Go eWallet because I don’t have a Malaysian bank account yet.

Can international students get/use a physical Touch ’n Go card without a Malaysian bank account? And where can I buy/reload one? I’ve tried checking out 7 eleven shops nd others as well but none has it .

Also, is there any other way to get around UM while the shuttle isn’t operating? Other than grab?

Can international MBBS graduates do housemanship in Malaysia?

• Upvotes

I’m a Pakistani student planning to pursue my MBBS in Malaysia as an international student. I was under the impression that non-Malaysians cannot do housemanship in Malaysia and have to return to their home country (or another country) for internship.

However, I recently came across the 2026 MMC guidelines, which seem to suggest that non-Malaysian graduates from recognised Malaysian medical schools may be eligible for provisional registration if they receive an offer from the Malaysian public authorities for housemanship.

So I’m wondering:

  • Is it actually possible for international graduates to get housemanship in Malaysia?
  • How realistic is it to receive the required government offer?
  • What do international students typically do after graduating?

I’d really appreciate input from anyone who has experience with this or knows the current 2026 process.

Considering MMU Melaka for LLB & questions about student life, costs & travelling back to KL

hi everyone, i’m currently studying fia at sunway college and graduating around next year january. i’m considering mmu melaka for the llb programme because i heard their law degree provides clp exemption. i’ve considered taylor’s law before since i live at subang jaya so its much easier to commute, but after some time im honestly not very interested because of the higher fees and the amount of negative reviews i’ve come across. i’m mainly looking for a good university to study law at, with good career opportunities after graduating, while still being able to have a good student life and enjoy my university years. i’m from subang, so moving to melaka would be a pretty big change for me, and i’m trying to get a realistic idea of whether mmu would be a good fit before making such a big decision.

  1. campus life

what is student life like at mmu melaka compared to uni here like sunway? is there usually a lot happening on campus, such as clubs, events, activities, etc.? do students generally enjoy living there?

  1. accommodation & monthly expenses

if i were to stay in melaka, roughly how much should i expect to spend on rent and other monthly living expenses? is it better to stay on campus or rent outside?

  1. scholarships / financial aid

are there any scholarships, fee waivers or financial aid that students can apply for, especially for the llb programme?

  1. llb programme

for those currently studying law at mmu, how do you find the llb programme? i’ve heard that mmu’s llb does not have clp exemption. is this true, and how much of a concern is it for students?

  1. overseas opportunities

are there opportunities to study overseas, go on exchange programmes, or spend part of the degree at a partner university?

  1. travelling between melaka & kl

my parents are in kl, so if i study at mmu melaka i would probably want to go home fairly often. is there any shuttle bus or convenient transport between the campus and kl? how do students usually travel home, and roughly how much does each trip cost?

  1. overall cost

for someone coming from kl and moving to melaka, what would you say is a realistic monthly budget including rent, food, transport and going home occasionally?

would really appreciate honest opinions, especially from current or recent mmu melaka students 🙏

I wanna get into a math degree but….

My high school subjects were non-STEM and honestly I wasn’t interested in mathematics at the time. But now I’m genuinely dying to pursue an education in math, and I’m struggling to find a pre-university program that focuses heavily on mathematics.I tried getting into A-Levels, but the university I’m looking at can only offer me Mathematics. They don’t offer Further Mathematics or Physics, which are the subjects I really want and feel like I need.I genuinely need some advice on how I can get into a Mathematics degree as someone who comes from a non-STEM background in high school. I live in Malaysia, and my highest qualification is currently just my SPM.I’m really passionate about mathematics now, but I feel like my previous subject choices are making it extremely difficult to find a pathway into a math degree.Any advice on possible pathways plsss? foundation programs, A-Levels, AUSMAT, or other pre-university options in Malaysia would be seriously appreciated. I just want a chance to study mathematics properly……..😭

Christians on the bridge

Im genuinely going to crash out. I walk to Taylors using the canopy bridge and every fucking afternoon where all my classes begin. I need to put up a nice face for these repetitive ass Americans talking about some church on Sunday and Jesus Christ. I politely declined so many times and the next day? I get asked again! I swear to god. This is a Muslim country speaking as a Chinese. Like leave me the fuck alone. I have places to be, meals to cook, assignments to submit, projects to complete. "Im visiting from America" Visit for how long? I've been seeing the same few chuds for months! Fist bumps here, hands shaking there. My dna is probably engraned into their sweaty ass palms. I see them stop so many people, males, females and get their numbers and shit. For fucks sake.

Is this genuinely their job? Their purpose? Sad fuckin ass existence for these waste of oxygen mayo tall delusional weather boys.

I have nothing against Americans besides those inbreds on the canopy bridge stopping every non-muslims they see. On god my Muslim brothers and sisters please give me some meta tips against them.
