Parts Upgrade Advice 3060 or 3060 Ti for 4K?

Yes, I’d repeat, 4K, 2160p. At this scenario, which one should I prioritize? A portion of VRAM or still raw performance all the way? Both are used and are gonna need some aggressive upscaling anyways (performance to ultra performance).

Games I’d be playing on my dad’s TV would be mainly FC26 and FiveM (GTA V Online). But I wanna try RDR2, Hogwarts Legacy, KCD, The Witcher, Yakuzas, Elden Ring, Watch Dogs, Personas, Minecraft with shaders, and InZoi.

Let me know what you think!

Current rig: 7500F, GTX1070, 550W PSU.

3060 Ti of course. I have 4070 ti with a 4K monitor and I have to use performance or even ultra performance mode pretty often, so without a doubt you will have a bad time.

Competitive games yeah i can see that(maybe except marvels). Single player games? Last gen games very much possible for stable 60 but for cross gen and current gen you would have to drop to medium and low with dlss performance if I have to guess. Would much prefer a 9060XT 16GB if you can get it.

I was able to get 60@4k with a i5-8400 and a 3060ti with tweaking with the graphics. It still looked pretty good.

Even medium settings is gonna look good with 4k tbf. The image clarity is substantial compared to something like 1080p.

If you have to pick from the two definitely pick the ti. With that said I'd also recommend looking into a AMD GPU since they tend to have better pricing, heck wouldn't hurt to look into intel if you really need to pinch pennies

I'm assuming you mean a RTX 3060 12GB vs. 3060 Ti 8GB?

For the older titles both can do 4K.

For the newer titles like Hogwarts legacy/ inzoi both cards are equally terrible.

If you are willing to sacrifice settings and fps to lower for playing at 4K I'd take the 3060 12GB.

If fps and post processing matters more then the Ti.

Stretch it to at least a 3070/ti if you can
