What Games Can I Run? Games for my dear old lady.
Got a 2017 Hp Laptop that loves overhearting (that's her thing). Windows 10 on Intel Core i5 7200U @ 2.70 ghz and 8 gb ram which only has 6gb available. No dedicated GPU but it has an integrated 620 HD Graphics.
I love mystery and detective videogames driven on strong narrative, like Pentiment, Disco Elysium and The Last Door. Narrative point and click games also do the trick.
Immersive sims and unorthodox FPS are also something I enjoy. I played Deus Ex GOTY and Cruelty Squad on this baby and it all went just like diamonds. This machine can run, dear God almighty bless FOX engine, MGSV TPP as well.
All in all what I enjoy the most are narrative rich video games, regardless of it's genre (for example, Darkwood and Fallout New Vegas rank among my favourite games of all time). Any recommendations down that alley will be much appreciated.

Most of these are from my free Steam game list and free Steam visual novel list.
Story-driven:
Into the Evernight
Noblesse Oblige: Legacy of the Sorcerer Kings
Robot Hospice
Detective/Mystery (mostly visual novels):
The Case of the Serialized Killer
Cemetery Mary
Deluge: Sermon for the Dead
Deluge: Threnody of Crashing Waves
Detective Grimoire
Lockheart Indigo
The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog - This has some 3D platforming parts that are more demanding than the visual novel part of the game, but I think you should be able to handle it.

The Red Pearls Of Borneo
Waking Mars - I'm not sure if this counts as having a strong narrative, but the story's excellent and the whole game's about unravelling a mystery.
Z.A.T.O. // I Love the World and Everything In It
These are too demanding for you, but they're excellent free mystery/detective games/VNs, so you can at least add them to your Steam account to play whenever you upgrade in the future.
Chalk Paper Scissors
HoloTrials: Case Covered
Myrmica
A Night at Moka Efti: A Babylon Berlin Story
