The LBP community's grand collection of creations lives on through archives, but with no Cool Levels or Hearted Lists to reference, it can be hard to take a full trip down memory lane.
To help empower the community to:
Find and share archive links to old favorites you want to share with others
Reminisce about memorable levels and moments together
Describe those tip-of-the-tongue levels you can't quite remember the name of and see if others can help you find your white whales
Using some handy archive search tools created by passionate LittleBigPlanetians (links below), you can grab links to just about any level and download them for playing! See here for a lovely tutorial thanks to /u/AfroSackGP.

Since the beginning of this year, I've kind of developed an addiction to drawing Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet. 🥺💙 I can't really explain it, but I just love drawing this little guy, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of him.
When scrolling on social media, every time I checked the comments on a post talking about the Astro Bot GWP, most of them were bringing up Sackboy as the superior mascot.
I felt like it was the right time to make a video showcase of my Sackboy, so that people can have an alternative to Astro Bot (or give him a shelf bro)
Hey, I just joined this community to ask this question lol but I was doing some reminiscing and all that and I was wondering if anyone remembers this game I played nonstop on lbp2 online for ps3 back in the day. It was set in the forest or woods. You could build a cabin I think? You could chop down trees and gather stuff and go hunting. There were bears and wolves and I think mammoths lmao? You could get their tusks and hides. The perspective was top down. It was so much fun. I don't know it's probably a shot in the dark but damn I miss playing that with my sister. Also does anyone remember that game of life board game adaptation someone made a level of? Good times :/
I've said stuff like this before around here, but since there's been some discussion on the topic these days, I wanna synthesize my posture here.
Media Molecule moved on from LBP once they finished LBP2. Sumo Digital made LBP3 which pushed the boundaries of the idea to the limit, and then moved on to SABA. Porting, remastering, remaking the game, is something that has been discussed to be very technically difficult. The audience for the LBP franchise nowadays is very small compared to most of the IPs from Playstation. Playstation has shown to be focusing on taking less risks with their new games, for example they've cancelled the upcoming game from Hideo Kojima, which is no small news. Sackboy has also been removed from all Playstation-related marketing. All this to say: you can hope for a new LittleBigPlanet game or LBP-related entry all you want, but you'll have to admit that there are no signs that it's ever coming back.
The LittleBigPlanet franchise has been abandoned by Sony. That's how things are. They do not owe you a new game. They can move on if they see no money in it. "They would make so much money from it!"; small maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe, but they don't think so, that's how it is. It would be criticable if they were shutting down legal community-made projects e.g. custom servers, but they're not. In their normal state, games are still playable as offline games. The way they shut down the servers from one day to the other was wrong and insensitive, but that was two years ago. You choose if you still wanna complain about that like it's gonna change something.
All this does not mean LittleBigPlanet is dead. LittleBigPlanet is now ours to keep alive. And that is what exactly what the community has been doing since the shutdown. Custom servers, modders, speedrunners, creators, content creators. These are the people you should be looking at when talking about the current state of the game, not Sony.
"But custom servers aren't good enough. They are hard to get into for a casual player, and the join key makes it a lot difficult to meet new people, especially if you don't wanna use Discord". Fine, valid criticism. What are you doing to make things better? May I remind you that everyone working on custom servers are doing it from the goodness of their hearts. They don't accept donations and they can't because they would get sued by Sony. I'm not telling you that you have to learn to code; I don't know how to code and I still have been making several guides related to the game and custom servers for the last year, just because I want as many new people to get into the game in its current state as possible. You can't change how things are by just complaining and hoping for a new game to come out. Stop wasting your time begging Sony for a new game that won't come, and use that energy to come help us.
Do your part. Are you good making levels? Make them, upload them to custom servers, record gameplay and post it. Are you a content creator? Talk about what the community is up to nowadays, play levels, interview people. Are you good at making mods? You'll have a lot of fun modding this game; this is the first game I know of that accidentally allows you to distribute mods on its own servers. Are you a programmer? Go contribute on Refresh and Project Lighthouse. Are you a bit of a nerd? Make some tutorials to use tools made by the community. Etcetera, etcetera. Go make stuff!
Like it or not, this is our game. Not Sony's, ours. How the game and its community are doing and will be doing in the future is up to us. It is up to you.
LBP1 doesn't get enough love, so to celebrate its birthday month, I'm highlighting one level a day. In this level you go on an adventure through a squirrel's tree. I really like the level design, but my favorite part is definitely the unrolling branch, which you can actually get as a prize.
You can play this level on custom servers (Bonsai's play hash, not currently on Beacon) or download it to your own moon without ja1lbreaks or servers by using this guide for ps3 or this guide for ps4/5.
I've been thinking about making a top-down stealth level, years ago I tried researching enemy detection not seeing through walls but I eventually stopped playing the game all together.
I'm thinking about hopping on the game more often to make levels again, and I tried coming up with an idea to make this work because tag detection goes through walls.
What do I need to know? I know logic, yet I can't figure it out.
I’m trying to convert my LBP 2 profile to LBP 3 (ps3) but it just won’t work. The first attempt just wouldn’t convert and the 2nd attempt froze up on me so I had to force shut down my ps3. I keep having to rebuild the file system.
