Is starting a tech career safe ?
Hello I recently started to learn python in 2026 but I have constantly this fear of wasting my time . Ai is changing the tech industry. I want to build some cool projects but is it worth it , I mean for the future? Will I get more opportunities? I would like you to share your unbias opinion please. I don't know what to choose between a preferred area and a safe area. Im really lost .I love ai, automation ,llms and learning things about ai , that's what motivated into learning python. For more context I have a background with nocode tools and vibecoding, built some saas and a mobile app.

Came from manufacturing, I figure it's the same as how CNC machines affected the manufacturing industry. You aren't going to be doing the same things and there will be less jobs but it'll continue to exist as a career just different than it once was.
Regarding creating things, you can always start your own business regardless of ai as I don't know how much things at work you make specifically for yourself rather than just cool stuff for the company so I wouldn't let that dissuade you from learning it if you wanna make stuff. Will say some places do filter you out by degree level though so I'd take that into account with your expectations of how long the first job will take to get, doable for sure, just will take more time probably.
