RPC call is triggering a scan but UI doesn't have the new show

I have the logs but I don't know if it's allowed since it's related to 🏴‍☠️ so I'm redacting a bit.

Sequence:

  1. Sonarr triggers a download
  2. At the end SABNZBD makes an RPC call to Kodi and gets a result {"id":"sabnzbd-scan","jsonrpc":"2.0","result":"OK"}
  3. I can see in the logs that it found the new episode:
2026-09-27 21:11:31.242 T:5551    debug <general>: VideoInfoScanner: Found episode match /mnt/nas/shows/xxx {tmdb-xxx}/S01/S01E07
  1. there aren't any errors after that, just many many lines about the API calls to TMDB

  2. Then an hour or so later I turn on the TV, go to the show and ... the show isn't there in the UI. So I have to trigger a library scan.

  3. Edit at this point after I have manually triggered a library skin the show is showing in the user interface

I just want the show to be in the UI when I turn on the TV so I don't have to manually scan and wait for that.

Anyone see the issue?

have you tried manually scanning the library in kodi just to see if it picks up or is it stuck in some kind of refresh loop

See above

The show is there after I manually trigger a library scan.

I've messed around with Kodi a bit myself, and once I had to wait like 20 minutes after a scan for everything to show up properly.

I made an edit. When I trigger a library scan manually the show shows up immediately.

Seen this before, sometimes restarting the kodi helps

This issue has persisted across several restarts of the computer.
