It’s so funny because this is me! I ordered my pumpkin spice latte as usual at Starbucks because it’s at one of our locations and this woman, I could tell she was a millennial like me, kept side-eyeing me.

Like yeah girl, the whole white women liking pumpkin spice ain’t limited only to white women lol. I’m here and I’m proud baby! Pumpkin spice is life! Year round baby! It’s in my veins! I’m a fiend!

Y’all… I got pumpkin spice oatmeal, made pumpkin spice eggnog. I have pumpkin spice pocky….

All day EVERY DAY motherfuckers!

What gets me as a barista at starbucks is everyone likes it. Old men in suits order it. Children order it. College girls order it. EVERYONE AND THEIR MAMA WANTS IT! Trust me I wish they didnt, but its true! Idk who made that up, but I feel like they were ashamed of their own pumpkin preferance LMAO because the barista sees all!

2

u/HearseWithNoName 1d ago

tbf they are vastly different tastes. I like both!

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

As someone who uses pumpkin pie spice on French toast instead of cinnamon, all year long, I'm really happy we all enjoy PS! Makes it taste better imo! Welcome sis! Bring your friends lol!

9

u/EmmerdoesNOTrepme 4d ago

If you have a Trader Joe's near you?

Get their Pumpkin Spice Brioche, let it dry out a little, then slice it thick & make THAT into french toast!

It's the perfect fall french toast--especially with real maple syrup!😉

5

u/Ermahgerd_Rerdert 4d ago

Omg genius idea! Looks like French toast for dinner.

I love pumpkin beer and will not suffer fools who try to rag on me for it. Pumpkin spice lovers unite!

4

u/EllisDee_4Doyin 4d ago

I do think the PSLs at Starbucks are a gross sugar bomb, because Starbucks coffee is just not that good.

But I really like the warming spices that make up pumpkin spice, and support and will defend your rights to enjoy it and put pumpkin spice in everything, girl. Tis the season! 🎃🍂🥧

ETA: where'd you get pumpkin spice pocky? 👀

2

u/QiDeviation 3d ago

Asian grocery store.

And yeah Starbucks is bad for me for sure. It’s purely out of convenience.

u/BlueHeron0_0 4d ago

Funny enough real pumpkin spice mix contains nutmeg which you can in fact get high on

62

u/I_like_flowers_ 4d ago

people i knew in high school did that once.    from their stories it was bith labor intensive and a bad experiance.  0/10.     the stories were pretty funny though.

23

u/Graffiacane 4d ago

I tried. You have to invest a LOT and the payoff is not worth the effort.

8

u/DiesByOxSnot 4d ago

You're more likely to die from nutmeg poisoning than actually get an enjoyable high

5

u/LuxNocte 4d ago

Maybe so, but if you snort cinnamon you're gonna have a bad time.

The spice expands life. The spice expands consciousness.

40

u/Positive-Green-3856 4d ago

He who controls the spice, controls the universe!

5

u/Kurenai-Kalana 4d ago

She* 😜

2

u/Positive-Green-3856 4d ago

Lmao of course!

25

u/Ok-Bird6346 4d ago

I once put Nashville Hot Chicken spice in my latte. The bottle was shockingly similar to my Pumpkin Spice bottle.

For the curious: NHC lattes are disgusting.

21

u/Tacosconsalsaylimon 4d ago

Cinnamon stick as a straw was the perfect item to bring in for the bit. 🏆🏆🏆

13

u/Brief-Positive-6597 4d ago

Soo funny even used the metro card!!

5

u/DisastrousChapter841 4d ago

And a cinnamon stick as a straw lol

36

u/No_Island_8061 4d ago

The descent was well acted lol. I can’t say shit just bought all my autumnal treats and put out my fall decor on September 1st.

7

u/rachaelonreddit 4d ago

The snorting through cinnamon sticks was a nice touch.

12

u/WaltsNJD 4d ago

Oof.

u/sleetblue 4d ago

She's doing way too much.

u/jxj24 4d ago

I ended up building a pumpkin spice lab in my basement. It was great until the house exploded.

Making fun of addiction like this gives me the ick.

Edited a typo. Addiction not addition. Gesh, autocorrect

135

u/guacgobbler 4d ago

Idk some of her mannerisms give she’s in recovery or at least used to party. she might be making light of a situation not making fun. im an addict in active addiction and i dont find it offensive lol, just cringe maybe

22

u/DysphoricNeet 4d ago

I hope you’re looking towards something better friend. I have been an addict for 8 years and it seems like it might actually be over soon. Never thought I’d come this far both in addiction and recovery. Good luck.

2

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

Good luck to you i know you can do it! 🫶

2

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

I'm so proud for you, internet stranger. Its so damn hard to get this upper hand. I wish you so much strength & hope.

24

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

I'm sorry to hear the struggles you're going thru. I wish you strength to make the good choices you want to make.

17

u/Lonely_Staff1262 4d ago

Idk the way she shook that guy's hand and then he handed her the spice makes me think she believes everyone picking up is politely greeting their dealer and not just discreetly palming their money/drugs 😂 but who knows!

22

u/Ssspppaaaccceeesss 💝 2026 Galentine! 💝 4d ago

Nah nah the first shake is the money, the second shake is the payoff, always

I mean uhhh….that’s just what I’ve heard, officer

11

u/TheRealMabelPines 4d ago

Well we have to see the exchange for the joke to work so everything has to be exaggerated to be visible 🤷🏻‍♀️

2

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

That's how movies and shows depict "drug deals" in the usa and had for some time (I'm old-er lol) so that part seemed almost cartoonist to me.. maybe a little colorism on media's part from so long ago..

19

u/WildFlemima *bounced bonerly* 4d ago

Rebecca Reingold is a comedian and I'm trying to figure out if she has been addicted bc i am addicted to a substance and I thought this was funny but i would like to know what place this is coming from

11

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

I guess it's all about the perspective. I have a family member who's destroying his life and his kids lives over addiction. It's hard being this close to it, wanting to help, not wanting to enable, the fine linen you walk between all of that & your boundaries. Taken all that into consideration, it just doesn't feel funny. From my perspective that is.

I'm really truly sorry about your addiction. It's a difficult thing to live with, and I understand you wanting to find humor in some part of it. I wish you hope & strength

14

u/WildFlemima *bounced bonerly* 4d ago

It's okay! Life destroying addictions are a big deal. My dad destroyed multiple marriages, his relationship with all his children, and his lifespan with alcoholism. Compared to that, mine is small potatoes (weed)(I'm addicted to something they say isn't addictive, they are liars lol)

I've watched a bit of a random video with her and she at minimum used to do cocaine, unclear if she still does or if she had an addiction - she talked about her meds after getting diagnosed with adhd and said cocaine was better lol. Which does give former addict vibes to me

7

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

Upvote for weed not not being addictive. Fully agree. I have two habits and one is weed.. the other is nicotine.. they're both bad in their own ways.. I'm starting my quit journey with cigs today..I start my meds. I really hope it works, I'm so tired of spending money just to xx myself, because at least with weed it's like meds. Nicotine is just.. killer. 🫶

1

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

Quitting smoking was sooo hard for me. It took me 2 times to really get the quit to stick. I did that Chantix and quit for 8 months. That chantix can be brutal after you stop taking it, it made me depressed and I didnt even have a word for that until I seen a commercial for it a few months later. The 2nd time I quit and the one that stuck was the patch. I'm 3.5 years cigarette free. I just checked my tracking app, I've saved over $12,000 by not smoking this long.

I have faith you can do it, its gonna be a struggle, but its possible!

2

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

I start chantix today!

2

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

Make sure you ween yourself off of it the way your doctor prescribes it once you are done. I stopped because I ran out. Really messed me up. But it does work! You so got this!!!

1

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

Thank you for that info! Getting off some antidepressants has taught me.. no cold turkey anything for me! 🤣 I'm not gonna lie, I have a new doc and he was almost too excited to give me the rx.. my other docs, for years wouldn't do it because I'm a depressed person (MDDw/A) a few through the years wouldn't do it.. but I've been wheezing every day and I'm a little scared..I don't want copd. Or the big C.. my granny passed from that and it was so horrible for her and the family. I appreciate the warning, he (the doc) sure didn't say anything about the side effects coming off it.. so thank you again. I'm really glad you were able to get that monkey off ur back! Way to go friend! For real!

6

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

I have another family member who smokes weed every day yet swears he's not addicted. I've noticed a change in his rationale in the last few years, he's very confrontational and contrary just to be contrary. Sometimes I feel like he's become a living breathing internet troll. He wasn't like that before his weed addiction, but he was an alcoholic then so..

I do believe you saying it's addictive. And I also believe it's less damaging to the family than alcohol.

4

u/luigis_left_tit_25 4d ago

Waaay less damaging than alcohol.. gosh alcohol is the devil and I swear I'm very thankful I somehow dodged that addiction, but it's gotten damn near every other family member, including my siblings (2)

1

u/ImWatermelonelyy 4d ago

A guy I work with quit weed and said he didn’t realize how reliant he was on it till he wasn’t sleeping and was snapping at family members after 4 days without it.

1

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

Wild tell that is, huh?

1

u/peach_xanax 4d ago

that seems like a him problem...I smoked every day for multiple decades, now I do it maybe 3x a month, and I never had any issues with suddenly being an asshole to people. never felt a single "withdrawal" symptom at all, actually.

8

u/peach_xanax 4d ago

well i'm an addict and think this is hilarious 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't feel like she's making fun of addicts, the joke is about pumpkin spice, not "addicts are bad". but I have a dark sense of humor and I'd rather laugh than cry, so that's just my perspective

4

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

That's perfectly OK. I personally have been going through some struggles with really close family members dealing with addictions, it's been a dark place for us.

1

u/peach_xanax 4d ago

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope things get better for your family.

1

u/Budget-Capybara 14h ago

I don't think she's indicating addicts or drug users are bad - (I'm sober - ex cocaine and alcohol user) I think making light of  drug use though comparison to innocuous things like cinnamon is morally bereft.

Like did you steal from your family and disappear for 6 days for that PSL? I doubt it.

35

u/AliceTheOmelette Saiyan👑Princess 4d ago

And the painfully unfunny delivery of an overused joke made it even worse

13

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

It's all... Degrading. Meh

33

u/HestiaWarren 4d ago

Came here to say this. Oh. Addiction. Hilarious.

14

u/Friendly-Table6785 4d ago

It was funny for the first bit of like doing a line of pumpkin spice but like the smudged eye liner clutching a pillow was a bit much

1

u/queensnuggles 4d ago

You are really defensive of math eh?

5

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

Oh crap, my phone autocorrected at the worst time. I'll fix it

1

u/boatsyyy 4d ago

This would be way funnier if it was about addition tho…

1

u/--slurpy-- 4d ago

Agreed

This is a nice place. If you can't act like a civilized human being, you can't be here.

We do not allow:

  1. Being a jerk. This includes racism, misogyny, misandry, misgendering, anti LGBTQ+, ageism, etc.
  2. Harassment
  3. Trolling or sealioning
  4. Threats of any kind
  5. Abusive behavior
  6. General assholery. If you're at the end of the list and asking what rule you broke, yeah, it's this one.

3

u/abrocot 4d ago

It’s around this year I start adding nutmeg to things. I love this season.

3

u/ladyriven 4d ago

Pumpkin pie every morning! Special K has pumpkin cereal during the season a few years ago, but now it's discontinued! I bought several boxes to see me through, but I'm out! Wahhhh

1

Just got my pumpkin spice drizzilicious rice cakes today!

1

u/Any_Conflict_5092 4d ago

This is great.

Overdone and overacted, for sure - but I get it. I love pumpkin spice season - cloaks, jumpers, scarves and boots, with a tasty warm bevvie - that's fab.

u/HoodiesAndHeels 4d ago

She needs to work on her pass-off

1

u/PugsOnParade11 3d ago

Guys I ran out of ginger today and looked up substitutions. Cinnamon was one and my pumpkin spice jar also had ginger in it. I made pumpkin spice stir fry and it was the best stir fry I’ve ever made. 😩

Unoriginal at best and dehumanizing at worst. I'm really disappointed seeing this on here when this is usually such a positive space.
