This is exactly how I cracked my phone screen once.
Was sitting on a bench with a hot chocolate and my phone. Neighborhood cat jumped on my lap. One of the three things had to fall, and I didn't want to spill hot chocolate on the cat. The phone was sacrificed for the greater good.
I rescued a (domestic) baby bunny earlier this year. Didnāt realize I left my phone until about 10 minutes after, lol. Brain was in saving baby animal mode.
Edit: would yāall believe that I tried to rescue another animal at work yesterday? I wasnāt successful but animal control was. A chihuahua bee-lined out of the forest near where I park, and I tried for several minutes to catch him, but he was getting too near to traffic, and I was already late, but animal control came just in time and took over the rescue efforts and got him back to his owners.
I gave him to an experienced rabbit owner with several rabbits at home. Donāt get me wrong, I thought about it, but I have a tiny apartment and two asshole cats who would probably spend every waking moment harassing him. His name is Elsa (she confirmed he is male, but her daughter insisted his name be Elsa, lol). He melted right into her arms when I did the handoff and he didnāt relax at all in my presence (probably because I spent 20 minutes chasing him around an enclosed cart corral and in and out the bottoms of about 200 shopping carts). I also rescued a kitten who was adopted by the customer who spotted her (and has given me updates every week for the last 3 4 years; time is escaping me, lol).
And hereās the cat I rescued at work, lol (itās a running joke that Iām the designated rescuer at work; Iāve also rendered first aid multiple times to humans). The one on the bottom, Macy. The family had just adopted the girl on top and werenāt expecting to add another cat to their family. Unfortunately, the older one did escape and got hit on the road recently, she did not survive. But theyāve added another cat to the family, a boy I believe, and Macy gets along great with him.
Itās wearing a harness. I wonder if it was supposed to be attached to something to keep it on a balcony, but it got the leash off. Iām kind of surprised that the kitten didnāt seem very frightened after landing inside the umbrella. It must have convinced itself that everything was going to plan. This was all part of its breakout routine.
Iām glad she scooped it up immediately, so that it didnāt run off to get lost after surviving that fall. I hope she was able to get it home right after this, and that its owners were more careful about securing it. That baby is already knocking off lives left and right.
She wasn't trying to catch it with the umbrella, she was definitely trying to just catch it with her two hands but in the process she flipped her umbrella and caught it that way. Lucky for both of them
You really haven't? Well just know that typically it's buildup, climax, buildup, climax, etc. I guess you can start with a climax but that's pretty avant garde
Makes sense. Cats and toddlers are similar in that when theyāre trying to run off, I need both of my hands to make sure they donāt yoink away from me and go running into traffic.
Probably to secure the cat in her nearby car or building before going back? The video says this is China, Iāve heard the culture is very different than the US. It can be common to leave your phone on a table in restaurant to āreserve itā while you go to the counter to order
