Journal entry More walking pages + surgery update!

Thank you for all of the kind, supportive comments on my first post! It really motivated me to keep up with my walking and journal goals!

Here are a few recent pages. I had a procedure in the middle so needed some time to recover so haven't been able to keep up daily walks, but did my best!

EXCITING UPDATE: I actually got called in for surgery this coming Tuesday (the estimated wait was November). So it looks like this journal will be how I track my recovery walks vs. tracking walks leading up to surgery.🤞🏼 It works and I can start regaining strength and getting my life back!!

Bonus terrarium notebook pages detailing some of my design processes and thoughts. A vanilla latte tied it all together for me. Plus the sun came out while I walked along the pier ^_^

These are my last entries in this journal, and I’m kinda proud because even though I love journaling, I always get bored halfway through and just forget about it. This is the first time I’ve actually filled one all the way to the last page. :) From 06.08 to 02.10 150 pages of doodling and leaving Instagram helped. 😂

I'm in between journals at the time and needed a place to put my thoughts or my brain would explode. Thus, The Layover Logs was born! First layover: JFK!

Journal: Random pack of 40(ish) bulk pack of mini Kraft notebooks

Page 1 Ink: Diamine Sepia (couldn't stand how DRY it was so had to switch to the black you see for the rest of the entry)

Page 2 onward: Pilot Prera in CM nib with Hongdian Black ink.

Discussion/Question I feel stuck after 2 years of journaling...

Hi everyone! This is my first post in this sub, and I'm looking for some advice. I started journaling two years ago in September when my anxiety and panic attacks got to the point where I felt like I couldn't even leave the house. I was agoraphobic, and I used to journal every single day and track my progress: what I did that day, whether I went out, who I went out with, what books I read, how work was going, etc.

Thankfully, over time I started to manage my anxiety better and better, and I'm no longer in that mental place. However, I kept journaling every day because it had become part of my nightly routine. And I did that, as I said, for almost two years.

Lately, though, I've started to feel a sort of resistance or laziness towards journaling, and it's been almost a month since I last wrote anything in my journal. At first, I started writing every 2–3 days, then once a week, and now I haven't written anything since the beginning of September.

So my question is: do you have any advice? Should I keep going? Should I take a break? Or maybe try a different form of journaling and move away from doing it daily? I feel like I still love writing, but right now I don't really have any direction or know what I want journaling to look like for me anymore. Thank you!!!

Journal entry Morning journals

Post image

It feels nice to wake up and have a cup of tea while writing about what's on my mind.It could very easily go wrong focusing on the negatives and venting but I've been told to write in a solution focused way and also qualitative way-such as listing the achievements of the day. And that's working.Do y'all have any tips towards improving mind clutter through journaling?

Discussion/Question The one line journal entries end up being the ones I reread

I used to feel like journaling only counted if it was a full page. Lately the days I write one honest sentence are the ones I actually go back and read months later. The long entries mostly just sit there. Anyone else notice this?

Journal entry TW: emotional distress; an entry from before my divorce

Thumbnail

Context:

I got married in 2019 and had my daughter in early summer of 2020.

I was completely independent before being manipulated into getting married at 20 years old to someone I met at 18 years old.

I worked full time before I had my daughter in 2020. I couldn't go back to my previous workplace due to a previous assault there and could only find part-tme work after covid. He was able to do customer service from home and keep his full-time job. But I returned to work 2 months after giving birth so we were both working during this entry.

I had my own bank account before we got married, but I was made to delete it in favor of a "joint marriage account." I didn't have access to any billing accounts until several bills went unpaid, then I only had access to those to ensure they would be paid on time.

I had two children with this man. We finalized the divorce last year in 2025 but have had additional legal proceedings since then as he has not been holding up his end of the agreement. I'm just happy to be out.

I recently finished my b6 journal notebook in just under 2 months and I’m happily settled in my newest one— an A5 notebook 💛

Truthfully I’m so sad to finish the b6 because the paper is just so fountain pen friendly, and I recently started using dip pens and sadly, the A5 notebook doesn’t take that well 😭

But overall I’m so happy to be in a bigger notebook!

Discussion/Question Lost my journal, absolutely devastated.

I lost my journal with 6 months of entries in it and I'm so upset. I went through the hardest break up of my life in that time and had so many important thoughts in there. I feel like I lost them all over again.

I never was consistent with journaling, but the last 6 months I was incredibly disciplined with it, and now it's all gone... I work at a hotel and sometimes I'll journal on my break, and I left it *somewhere* but nobody has turned it in, and I've looked everywhere.

I'm not sure if I have a question, mostly just needed to say it somewhere. I guess I could ask has anyone else dealt with losing an incredibly important journal?

Journal entry entry for today

I think this is the first time I wrote in two pages. Also, my handwriting gradually getting smaller.

I liked writing in cursive more because I don't have to lift my hand too often, anyone like that too?

Discussion/Question Ideas for legacy journal?

I was recently dignosed with a disease that increases my risk of stroke, heart attack, dementia, and physical/cognitive decline. I'm in my 30s and have a preschooler.

I've journaled most of my life, but have never created a legacy journal. I want it to be something she can connect to if something happens to me. I'm not sure what it will look like yet. So I thought people who also love journaling may have good ideas/prompts. Any would be appreciated!

Journal entry September Close-Out.

I created a summary grid and space for some reflection but my grid was heartfelt enough that I didn’t need to write anymore. Then I captured the essence of September in the front page of the journal which I call my “happy page.” I want it to be a page when looked upon again in the future, I read what brought me joy that month. Finally, some daily gratitude expressed.
