Obfuscating class files

Has anyone successfully obfuscated their .class files? I tried using GraalVM for JavaFX project (including Gluon's version of GraalVM) but it always failed to complete.

Why would I? Especially with todays ai one can recover most of the code with next to zero effort. If someone wants to read your code, they can and will do so. For everything else, it just makes it more annoying for everyone including yourself

Obfuscation is painting a lock on flat door

I prefer to handle this with a contract. But I don't write code for end users, I write code for very large organizations that really would prefer not to be sued

Obfuscation is not security. A lock is. A lock prevents someone getting in because they are pretty obvious if they try to open it. On a piece of software, nobody can watch them. They have unlimited time. On my door, they dont
