Yes this is a very nice blog article, and there are a lot of interesting travel reports on Iran out there. In my opinion the best way to learn about a country without traveling there is to read travel reports (by a traveler who is similar to you). Travelers are unbiased which is specially important in the case of a country like Iran where news are so much politicized.
