[u/Pete_Iredale → u/Reyalta]

Most sharks actually give birth to live babies.

[u/Reyalta → u/Pete_Iredale]

Eeee! I actually didn't know that 🥺

[u/dedoubt → u/Reyalta]

Baby sharks are one of the cutest things you'll ever see! When I was in Australia, I was on a coral island that had deep tide pools the baby sharks would hide from the big sharks in. I stood inside of one and had half a dozen baby sharks circling my legs in the tide pool, just like big sharks do. They looked exactly like adult sharks except they had really big cute eyes.

[u/omfgcookies91]

This is strangely... intimate?

Can you please stop shoving my face into the sand? Male sharks, I swear. SMH.

[u/FadedVictor]

It's insane. From mammals to birds to fish I've seen the male bite the females neck from behind. I wonder how old that behavior is in animals.

[u/FriendshipSome8223]

Ass up, face smooshed right into the pillow.

[u/ferriematthew]

Wait, aren't they not breathing during that time? I thought sharks had to continuously swim forward in order to breathe.

[u/McGeeze → u/Deraj2004]

I have not seen this gif before 😂

[u/OscarDivine]

So since they aren’t swimming aren’t they slowly asphyxiating? This their equivalent of choking?

[u/jatea → u/OscarDivine]

Saw a doc on this one time. I think that can occasionally happen. However, they usually mate in specific places or during certain times where there's a strong current, so water can flow through their gills while they're stationary on the sea floor

[u/JST_KRZY → u/OscarDivine]

So glad I wasn’t the only one …. Worried?

[u/NeverEndingWhoreMe → u/OscarDivine]

Don't kink shame.
