Promotion If Keep on Mining was made by Housemarque... this would be the demo.

Take the unfolding surprises of A Dark Room, add the escalating craziness of games like Keep on Mining and the arcadey goodness of Astro Prospector.

Layer in the depth of systems, visceral gameplay, and polished aesthetics that our players love in Reality Break and think of how Housemarque would make that game.

The public demo launched this week on Steam!

Upcoming Some people have mistaken my game for a farming sim, so I made a new trailer

• Upvotes

There’s no farming in the game. Instead, you run an inn for monsters, prepare meals, decorate your inn, and befriend your monster guests.

I tried making this trailer with a different feel from my previous one.

Promotion After five AAA games, I went solo to make a game about making games in the 90s (Vaporware EX Teaser Trailer)

Hey all! I'm Alex, a solo dev. I spent a few years working on games like Age of Empires IV, Grounded and Prison Architect, and then decided the sensible next step was to make a game about making games. Self-awareness is not my strong suit.

Vaporware EX is a comfy 16-bit game dev sim set in 199X. Most games in the genre put you in a birds eye perspective of a studio as you build an empire. This one puts you at the keyboard: you build each game feature by feature, push your engine forward, haggle with publishers, and fix the bugs you inevitably create along the way.

Get it right and you climb from local game jam winner all the way to Game of the Century. Get it wrong and you get a post-mortem explaining exactly why your publisher won't return your calls.

Need Feedback Trying to target 144 fps on 10 year old hardware, as I expect players to need that precision

In the game Fluerepete I am working on, I am aiming 144 fps, and 60 physics ticks per frame. Mastering the game requires the game to be absolutely smooth. Are there other games, which require hard precision platforming, and must be running smoothly?

Promotion I make Tikal, a free 2D MMORPG with a Maya-inspired world and no ads

I’m part of the team behind Tikal Online. It is a persistent 2D MMORPG where you hunt creatures, train skills by using them, explore temples and islands, trade with other players, and choose whether to join PvP. The image shows actual mobile gameplay.

You can play free in a browser at https://play.tikal.online/ or on iOS and Android via https://tikal.online/download. Optional Premium supports the servers and offers cosmetics and convenience.

Promotion I made a soccer puzzle game where your only teammates are ghosts of your past runs

I have been building Retro Footy, a pixel-art soccer puzzle game, and I wanted to see what you guys thought.

The idea is you have no teammates. You play a short run as player A and pass the ball into empty space. Then time rewinds, A becomes a ghost that repeats exactly what you did, and you play as B to run onto that pass and score. Later levels need passing chains of up to six of yourself, against defenders that react to your play. Maybe I will add local multiplayer later.

Let me know your thoughts on the concept, and if you try it, which level stumped you/wanna see something else in the game.

Promotion I just released Jono, a free Steam game, where only 1 player can play at a time in the whole world

• Upvotes

It is a simple platformer where only 1 player in the world can play at a time, the rest are spectating. You can put yourself in queue and wait for your turn to play, and chat globally while waiting.

A weird experimental game, but totally free!

Public Game Test Play an entire football career in 2 minutes, every season becomes a stripe in your scarf

Knit FC is a browser game where you live through a whole football career, from youth academy to your farewell match.

You decide where to sign, when to go on loan and which contracts to accept, and the seasons play out in seconds. At the end your career turns into a knitted scarf, one stripe per season in the colors of your clubs.

Choose a quick 2 minute run or a full 8 minute career, take on the daily challenge where everyone gets the same start, or stay in one country for your whole career with promotion and relegation.

Free to play in the browser, no account needed.

Promotion I’m making Killwright, a first-person melee roguelite where perfect timing triggers slow motion. The demo is out now!

I've been working on Killwright, a gothic first-person melee roguelite built around physics-based combat and a slow-motion system called Tempo. Perfectly timed parries, dodges and certain abilities can trigger it, letting you keep moving at full speed while everything around you slows down.

The demo released this week, and I'd really love to hear what people think :)

Upcoming My solo/co-op deckbuilder is 25 days from launch! Into the Crypt!

Hello r/indiegames

Just under 3 weeks from launching my massive deckbuilder - Into the Crypt.
It's a massive, multi-year project with many talented hands that have helped this get this far, and I really hope those of you that play deckbuilders to check it out!

The new demo will drop just around the time of Steam Next fest for you to try, which will have hundreds of updates on top of the existing one.

It's first-person blend of 2D/3D deckbuilding, it's 100% roguelike, and has a lot to offer.

Here's a list of many features, but a lot is left for you to discover as well:

- Solo and co-op. Full save system for both, multiple save slots. In Co-op, you play side-by-side, every encounter, and you can use your class's special benefit on your teammate, as well as potions, revive your ally.

- a monsterous roster of 150+ enemies (yes, the count has grown significantly!). These enemies have their own playstyle, actions, over 1500+ animations JUST from enemies alone!
These enemies have phases with multiple decks and playstyles.

- 3 classes fully decked out, with their own mechanics, synergies and builds, and alternate starting paths (for those that want even more variety in gameplay).

- A 'crypt mastery' system, which provides you with XP in every action you take during your run, unlocking various elements in subsequent runs.

- 60+ events: one-shot, multi-path, and multi-descent types.

- Solo/Co-op leaderboards, Steam achievements

- Typical run takes roughly 50% longer than a Slay the Spire run for comparison, which can be reduced ofcourse by experienced players.

Video A look at our top-down action-adventure with rearrangeable dungeons. First demo coming this week!

We're a two-person team developing MYRIORAMA, a top-down action-adventure with a twist: solve puzzles and complete dungeons by rearranging the rooms of the dungeons themselves.

Any questions are welcome!

Game highlights:

  • Use a slick set of augmented reality goggles to manipulate dungeons and solve their puzzles. Every dungeon will work differently!
  • Find and install new Commands for your goggles, granting fantastic abilities like freezing or igniting enemies, pushing or pulling yourself and objects, and more.
  • Outside of dungeons, explore a charming stop-motion world full of beguiling mysteries and head-scratching puzzles.
  • Get to know a motley crew of outsiders living in a strange land. Progress through the game to learn more about your neighbors and the mysterious “ancients” hidden deep beneath the surface of the world.

We'll have a first-look demo out on October 8, as part of our participating in ICO Partners' Unmistakable Festival on Steam. The demo will include the game's first rearrangeable dungeon.

Public Game Test Orcs Must Die + Thronefall in action roguelike setting game. Would you like to try it among the first ones?

Hi guys,

I am making my dream game combination - tower defense roguelite with chaotic real-time combat, where you play as a dungeon boss. You should defend your home from hordes of vicious heroes, place deadly traps, expand your dungeon, grow stronger, dive deep into plot - all to get back to your well-deserved nap!

This is my first steam game project, which I worked on with all my passion and love for the last year. And finally, I am ready to give it to play to someone, who likes to impact how games are build, who is happy to try something fresh and raw.

I would be happy if will join my tiny community in discord discord.gg/n8eke7zEQX , or even if you share your thoughts, always ready to hear a fair feedback.

First playtest happenes on the next weekends, seats are limited to a small group, looking forward hearing from you.

thank you for reading and have a great day!
