Can you help to moderate r/indianstudents?
Hi everyone!
r/indianstudents is looking for active moderators to help support, organize, and grow our community!
This subreddit is dedicated to everything surrounding student life in India - from college admissions, stream choices, and competitive exam stress to campus discussions, career guidance, study tips, and casual banter.
Here’s where we could use your help:
- Keeping spam, promotional coaching posts, and unauthorized paid services under control
- Encouraging helpful, respectful, and peer-to-peer discussions
- Reviewing posts and comments to ensure they follow community guidelines
- Helping students across all levels find reliable resources, study advice, and guidance
- Developing r/indianstudents into a safe, welcoming, and constructive space for students across India
Previous moderation experience isn’t required! Whether you’re in high school, an undergraduate, a postgraduate student, or a recent graduate looking to give back, you’re welcome to apply. All you need is good judgment, an active presence on Reddit, and a few minutes now and then to check the mod queue.
If you’re interested, please leave a comment below with a quick intro about yourself, your current academic stage (or background), and why you’d like to join the mod team. We’ll be in touch if it looks like a good fit!
A little extra context: I’m a Reddit admin helping set up community guardrails and won’t remain on the moderation team long-term once new moderators are in place. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about moderating or the process!

Question ❓ Why weren't big Bollywood celebrities asked to tweet about Col. Vaibhav Anil Kale when he died serving with the UN in Gaza? Why didn't the PM post a single tweet for him? Why didn't his death receive the same major attention? And why weren't those responsible called terrorists?

Career Advice 💼 1st year student looking to earn some money part-time** I’m a 1st year CSE (AI/ML) student and I have a good laptop.
Hey, I’m a 1st year CSE (AI/ML) student. I have a pretty good laptop, but I’m still a beginner when it comes to coding and honestly don’t have much practical experience yet.
Im looking to make around 5–10k inr month in the next 2–3 months, mainly for my own expenses. I can manage around 1–2 hours a day alongside college.
I’m not specifically looking for coding work either. I’m open to pretty much anything — freelancing, online work, learning some skill and doing small gigs, helping people with stuff, etc. As long as it’s genuine and actually worth the time.
I know making 5–10k with just 1–2 hours a day isn’t going to be easy, so I’m not expecting some shortcut or “easy money” thing. Just wanted to ask people who have actually done this during college — what did you guys start with, and what would you recommend to someone starting from almost zero?
Also, what are some things I should avoid?
