Should I terminate her?

Post image

I've been having trouble getting started. She came out looking a bit deform - color was yellowish green and (as can be seen on the picture) she had burned areas. She's way behind my last grow - at day sixteen she's as developed as the last one was at day ten.

Today she had a much healthier color and I could see the roots had finally hit the reservoir - so I think that is the reason. I put another seed to germinate, a couple of days ago, just to be safe. What do you guys think? Should I trash her and hope this next seed does better? I only have one bucket to grow in - the tent is not that big. So I can only grow multiple seedlings until it's time to put it in the bucket.

Edit: forgot the important part - it's an auto, which is why I'm asking. Had it been a photo, I would just let her grow.

I never toss the runts. Sometimes they catch up. Sometimes they’re the finest smoke in the seed batch even if they don’t. I don’t select plants for yield though. I’d guess there are many elites out there that had stronger/faster growers in the same batch of seed they grew from.

Yea the thing is I only have room for one bucket so I want to make sure I don't waste precious space and time on a plant that is going to basically not grow into a decent size. Especially since its an auto and im on a timer. With what people have replied here im going to take my chance on her.

Okay. I guess that makes sense. I’ve never messed with autos so I can’t help you there but I’d probably roll with it either way and see what happens

I like an underdog story, I'll give her a chance.

That's not unusually small for day 16 of an auto.

Ah ok. This is only my second time growing DWC and this seedling looked deformed and behind the last one. Everyone always says if a auto seedling is stunted you should start over. Thanks for easing my mind. I'll let her run.

I'm not sure what that means.

No don’t . The runt of my last batch was the strongest and best tasting out of the lot!

The baby leaves 🍃 are almost buried. My guess? Your suffocating it. It needs air. Not execution.

Yea i suspect the rockwool cube was too saturated. Now the roots are in the res it looks much better

Not baby leaves, cotyledons and they just provide food for the seedling to get a jump start of nutrients. My guess is, ph, nutrient, most likely cal/mag & too much light or nitrogen. I think with some tlc, should could be saved. Do you have access to safe, clean, clones?

The cube was soaked in 5.5 pH water for about an hour before I planted the seed. This is what I read several places you need to do. Also that I shouldn't put nutes in that water, but only in the res. I have hard water so no need for calmag. The light might have been too bright. I had it at lowest setting, but somehow It went to maximum for a bit.

When the roots reached the res it immediately looked better. The res is mixed 1ml/l advanced nutrients ph perfect micro/grow/bloom as per instructions. I also have 2ml/l Voodoo juice in it.

But yea, its looking much better now, but the growth is still slow.

I don't have access to clones. I don't grow legally.
