MOD Important: New Marketplace Rules, Video Timestamps & Payment Changes

Hey r/HomeLabSales!

We are introducing cleaner and stricter marketplace rules to help combat AI-generated timestamps and improve trust and safety for all transactions.

Timestamp Requirements - Effective Immediately

A valid timestamp must include:

  • Current date within the last week.
  • Seller's Reddit username

Video Timestamp Requirement

All sales posts that are valued at $400 or above must now include a video timestamp.

The video must meet the following requirements:

  • Show all items being sold, including multiples of the same item.
  • Clearly display the timestamp throughout the entire recording.
  • Show the seller rotating each item and changing camera angles while both the item and timestamp remain visible.
  • Be unedited and recorded in a single continuous take.

Additional Photos

Any photos included beyond the required timestamp video must also contain the same valid timestamp.

Exception: CDI/CrystalDiskInfo screenshots, SmartCTL reports, and other diagnostic/specs screenshots captured directly from a computer screen do not require a physical timestamp.

Note: The moderation team cannot manually review every timestamp. If you see a suspicious or invalid timestamp, please report it.

Approved Payment Methods - Effective Immediately

For all online transactions:

  • PayPal Goods & Services, also known as PayPal G&S, is the only accepted payment method going forward. Please report anyone not using G&S or is requesting any other forms of payment to ship goods.

For local, in-person transactions:

  • Cash, PayPal Friends & Family, or other mutually agreed payment methods remain permitted.

Posts requesting or requiring alternative online payment methods for online transactions will be removed.

Shipping & Responsibility

  • Sellers are responsible for accurately describing the condition of all items.
  • Tracking information must be provided promptly after shipment.
  • Buyers should inspect items promptly upon delivery and report any issues to the seller as soon as reasonably possible.

Rule Violations & Enforcement

We understand these are new requirements and want to provide the community with a short adjustment period.

Beginning July 1, 2026, these rules will be enforced strictly and consistently.

Potential enforcement actions include:

  • Post removal
  • Temporary bans
  • Permanent bans for repeated or intentional violations
  • Marketplace restrictions at moderator discretion

These changes are intended to protect both buyers and sellers and keep the subreddit safe for transactions.

Please let us know in the comments if you have any feedback. As always, you can also reach out via modmail.

Edits:

After reading through the comments, we understand that video timestamps maybe a hassle for smaller value items, so we’re keeping the same rule active currently, i.e. anything over $400 value will require a video timestamp.

Also, you will NOT need a video timestamp if you’ve got >10 trades on your account.

Our main goal was to curb posting by completely new accounts and to avoid AI generated timestamps. The influx of AI generated pictures and scammers has gone up significantly.

[LabB0T] Monthly Confirmed Trades Thread - October 2026

Confirmed Trades Thread - October 2026

When a successful trade, sale, or purchase has been completed, post one top-level comment describing what occurred. Use one of these formats:

Failure to adhere to this format will result in the bot letting you know the trade could not be parsed, or it may be completely ignored. If your trade is not parsed within 1 hour, please delete your comment and try again. If you still cannot get it to parse, please send a modmail.

Do not edit your comments. Once your trade is read, whether it is parsed or not, it will never be reprocessed.

When your trade is successfully parsed, the bot will reply to your comment with a message indicating the trade has been logged. The following will then happen:

Trade Confirmation Flow

  • LabB0T picks up the trade and successfully parses it.
    • A confirmation link will be sent to the other party via Reddit message/chat notification.
    • LabB0T will reply to the top-level comment indicating the trade has been logged.
    • In the event a Reddit message/chat cannot be sent, the trade is declined and the bot will post a reply explaining what to do next.
  • The other party will need to follow the link sent to them via Reddit message/chat notification. The link will take them to https://trades.labb0t.org/ where they can confirm the trade.
  • Once confirmed by the other party, the trade will be marked as verified in the backend database.
  • On its next tick, LabB0T will see the trade has been verified.
    • The flair will be updated for both users in the subreddit.
    • LabB0T will edit its existing reply in the trade thread to indicate the trade has been confirmed.
    • The status on https://trades.labb0t.org/ will be updated to reflect the trade has been completed.

Important Notes

  • Only one trade should be mentioned in each top-level comment - multiple items still constitute a single trade if the receiving party is the same.
  • Do not edit comments.
  • The other party must have allowed chat requests from either, all users, users whose account age is greater than 30 days, or u/LabB0T to receive the confirmation link.
  • If the bot's pending reply has not been updated after 30 days, the trade has expired and should be re-submitted if needed.
  • Do not submit or confirm trades until the items are received.
  • Each user can only confirm a trade once (no self-confirmations).
  • As of the v3 rewrite (this version), you may comment whatever you like in the trade thread so long as it is a reply and not a top-level comment.

Public Ledger

The v3 rewrite of this module has brought with it a public ledger of all trades. This ledger is available at https://trades.labb0t.org/.

By using this system, you agree that your Reddit username and trade information will be publicly displayed on the ledger. You cannot opt out of this. The ledger/verification system as a whole has been built to be an auditable, transparent system. No nefarious tracking or data collection has been implemented.

I understand some of you may not like that a third party service is being used for this now, but my goal for this was to remove as much from Reddit as possible. Reddit's standpoint on the API continues to be hostile towards third party apps/developers and my skills are better served using something that works well and not fighting this platform.

Need Help?

If manual review is needed, please send a modmail with as much information as possible.

Thank you for all those that waited patiently for this new system and offered their help.

We're moving and need to divest ourselves of the tape library. We bought it a number of years ago but have never had the time to get it running. Theoretically everything should be there.
It currently has 10x T10000C tape drives to be able to take 5TB StorageTek T2 tapes, but can be swapped to take modern LTO drives.

Equipped with an HP StorageWorks 8/40 SAN Switch.

Emma not included.

US-C [FS][US-MN]Supermicro CSE-846 24-bay Chassis

Previous post was taken down for lack of image with date/timestamp. I edited my prior post & messaged mods, haven't heard back yet, hope reposting this is allowed.

Hi there, I have an unused Supermicro CSE-846 chassis I'm looking to put in a good home. I picked it up to use as backup server and eventually went in a different direction.

  • Supermicro CSE-846 chassis
  • 23x 3.5" drive caddies
  • 2x 1200w PSUs

I believe it has a SAS2 backplane based on the connector type but I'm not super familiar with this particular chassis, and I'm not seeing any obviously printed labels (though I could very well be missing it). Happy to grab photos or take a closer look if anyone knows where to look.

Not looking to make a profit so much as clear up space in my basement. Asking $100 and local pickup only in Plymouth, MN or somewhere in the western twin cities of Minneapolis.

Some pics of the chassis. Let me know if more is needed or requested. image link here

US-C [FS][US-MN] Synology DS920+ 20GB RAM Diskless - Original Box - $495 Shipped

Timestamp / photos: https://imgur.com/a/dsV03vi
Video proof: https://i.imgur.com/Dgw3nGV.mp4

Selling my Synology DS920+ after migrating to a newer storage platform. The NAS is fully functional and was tested on DSM 7.4.1 before decommissioning.

Synology DS920+ - $495 shipped CONUS
• DISKLESS - no HDDs, SATA SSDs, or M.2 NVMe SSD/cache drives included
• All four original Synology drive trays are included
• Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core CPU
• 20 GB DDR4 RAM total (recognized in OS, photos included)
• 4 GB factory memory + 16 GB Samsung DDR4-2400 SODIMM (M471A2K43CB1-CTD)
• Four SATA drive bays
• Two M.2 NVMe cache slots - EMPTY
• Dual 1GbE LAN
• USB + eSATA
• Includes original Synology retail box/packaging and original included accessories

Good fit for self-hosting / homelab use
• Plex Media Server
• Jellyfin media server
• Immich self-hosted photo/video library
• Docker / Synology Container Manager workloads
• Intel Quick Sync Video / hardware-accelerated media transcoding in compatible configurations
• General NAS, backup, photo-server and media-server duties
• Homelab containers and self-hosted applications

Compatibility note: Plex can use hardware-accelerated streaming with Plex Pass and appropriate configuration. Jellyfin supports Intel QSV/VA-API when configured. Immich can run through Docker/Container Manager; the installed 20 GB RAM is above Immich's published minimum/recommended memory requirements, though larger ML-heavy libraries may benefit from a separate ML worker.

Used in a home environment and selling only because I moved the storage workload to another NAS platform. See timestamp photos/video for cosmetic condition.

Memory disclosure: Synology officially specifies a lower supported maximum memory configuration for the DS920+, but this system recognizes and has been running successfully with the full 20 GB installed.

Price: $495 shipped within CONUS. I can also do $465 local. NO STORAGE DRIVES ARE INCLUDED.

Payment: PayPal Goods & Services for shipped sales. No trades. Please comment in the thread before sending a PM.

US-W [FS] SoCal - RAM (4x16GB DDR4 UDIMMs and 2x32GB DDR4 SO-DIMMs) and other miscellany - with bonus items - great bundle price

Hello everyone - I'm doing a pre-holiday cleanout of my homelab and other stuff. Mostly RAM, but there are some other items as well.

I strongly prefer to sell it all in one bundle, so I'm giving a kickass bundle price.

Up for sale:

  • Four 16GB Crucial UDIMMs. Model CT16G4DFRA32. DDR4-3200. CL22 latency. THEY AREN'T SCRATCHED! It's just the weird design Crucial etched into these. Estimated homelabsales price: $250-$300
  • 64GB (2x32GB) V-Color ECC SO-DIMMs. Part # TES432G26D819K-VC. DDR4-2666 CL19 PC4-21300. Estimated homelabsales price: $250-300
  • Single Mushkin 8GB SO-DIMM. DDR4 PC4-2133. Part # MES4S213FF8G18 Estimated homelabsales price: $25-30
  • Single Synology 4GB ECC SO-DIMM. DDR4 2666. Estimated homelabsales price: $25
  • Unifi LTE failover device U-LTE-US. Never even taken out of the box; still has the plastic on it. Estimated homelabsales price: $30-50

Also (I know it's not a Homelab item, but) I am including:

  • A set of Bose QuietComfort QC35II noise-cancelling headphones. Estimated eBay price: $60

They're not worth pricing separately, but if you want them, I'll also include these:

  • Opal C1 webcam (no box) - a beautiful little camera sadly abandoned by Opal
  • UGreen USB 3 to 2.5" SATA III external hard drive enclosure, factory sealed.
  • Amicool (yes, you are!) USB 3 CD DVD +/i RW optical drive. Model BT686.

Pics here.

Make-my-life-easy bundle price: $600 for everything, and I'll ship free. Also open to in-person pickup in SoCal (Santa Monica area). Cash only for in-person pickups.

I have almost no transaction history here, but you can check my transaction history on watchexchange for assurance that I'm an honest, upright fellow.

Please remember to comment here before messaging me privately.

US-E [FS][US-CT] Firesale, Local pickup only -- Startech 12U, My electronics 19in 2u itx case, Eypc 7D12 system in super micro CSE-216

I am moving cross country very immediately, and have an urgent need to clear out some server gear by end of this week.

I am willing to accept just about any mix of payment, including trading for other items. (I like electronic music gear, video games, and more portable computing).

The items are offered more or less on a best offer / can you get it out of my life first premise.

Since automod is pushing for some desired prices:
- startech rack ($100?)
- server ($400?)
- myelectronics case ($100?)

The gear is the same as my prior post: https://old.reddit.com/r/homelabsales/comments/1s6issn/pcusct_looking_for_some_prices_on_some_chassis/

But, to restate:

  1. Startech 12u rack. I have the original accessories as well
  2. My Electronics 19in 2u itx case, full pcie
  3. Eypc 7D12 server, comprised of:
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte mz32-ar0
  • CPU: eypc 7D12
  • RAM: 64gb (8 x 8) of ddr4 RDIMMS, 2666mhz (I do not remember the model #)
  • Mezzanine card: ASUS MCI-10G/X550-2T
  • Storage: 2x 118gb optane p1600x
  • Chassis: super micro CSE-216BE1C-R920LPB (this includes the psus), note that its missing 8 hot swap trays.

I am planning on removing the optane drives, but can be convinced to part with them.

Sorry there's a lot of junk on the server at the moment. Can open it up if someone wants to see the state of it inside.

Hi,
Putting some unused parts for sale in preparation for my move.
If you think I have something wildly off, please let me know.
The difficult one to price was my Ruckus AP, they're all over the place. I run two in my house, they're pretty cool.

Item Price
SK hynix 8GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM $20 + shipping at cost
Crucial 32GB kit (2×16GB) DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM $85 or take all three for $100 shipped
Ubiquiti USW-Enterprise-8-PoE (120W) - 2.5G Poe+ $300 shipped
Ruckus ICX7150-C12P - Uses the 10GBe firmware. $80 shipped
Ruckus R750 Unleashed — new/open-box, stickers still intact. Requires a Poe+ connection to run, not Poe. $350 shipped
