Sorry dude but you’re really not making much sense here.
First it’s off by “a few centimetres”. Then it’s off by “a centimetre or two”.
Now it’s off by 3.8mm?
How are you measuring this?
Post a picture to Imgur.

Yea lol I made it confusing bc I obviously needed a class in measurements but imagine about the thickness of a credit card tiny bit smaller

A credit card is nowhere near 3.8mm dude.
38 mil is about the thickness of a credit card.
Are you confusing imperial and metric?

You said it’s not too noticeable but also pretty noticeable? Have you asked the gunsmith about it yet?

If you’re staring at it it is but not noticeable at first glance and no I haven’t got it done this evening

your groups are gonna open up if the comp's even a hair off, take it back

Do you mean that the compensator isn’t concentric to the barrel, or that the ports aren’t clocked evenly in relation to the sights?
And how on earth is it off, in any way, by a few centimeters?

Got my measurements wrong it’s under a centimeter

The compensator isn’t concentric to the barrel one side too much in one side pokes out

Definitely a problem then. Either something (barrel or compensator) wasn’t threaded properly from the factory, or bubba cross threaded it.

You don’t think it can be an issue of not using the shim kit correctly?
1
u/Broke_Bak_Jak 3h ago
Shim kits are to properly time the muzzle device, I can’t imagine how one could be misused in such a way as to affect concentricity.

Ah I see, this is my first pistol compensator. So then is it even fixable anymore?

A few centimeters is about an inch, are you sure its that much?
-2
u/Sea-Case-8313 4h ago
Shit got my measurements a bit wrong I’d say it’s about a centimeter or two

u/seb21051 4h ago
2.54 cm = 1 inch.

u/Sea-Case-8313 3h ago
0.38 centimeters to be exact

u/Sea-Case-8313 3h ago
Off by that much

u/seb21051 3h ago
Ok, about 1/8". Sounds like you should take it back. If you look down the barrel from the chamber side, do you see the comp intruding at all?
2
u/Sea-Case-8313 3h ago
Yeah, that’s how I first noticed it’s a little uneven will take it back just surprised the gunsmith didn’t notice so hesitant to go back to him

Gunsmith is a pretty broad term used this day and age. I’m extremely competent and do my own work, but I’m no gunsmith. The inverse can also be true sadly, where they are incompetent and a “gunsmith”.

Yeah I do anything I can myself but didn’t have the tools for this one, my usual guy is on vacation and thought taking it to another local shop with a proclaimed “gunsmith” would be fine for something little like installing a compensator. Learned my lesson on that one. Even for the smallest jobs go with someone experienced who you can trust.

You can do two things:
Take it back to be adjusted, and then shoot it.
Complain, take it back to be adjusted, and then shoot it.
At the end of the day, youll probably still shoot low left.
