Question Are there any clothing pantries around Atlanta that have size 3XL clothes?
FYI I'm close to the Decatur area, so anywhere that's accessible via MARTA would be helpful for me.
Hey guys. So, I (25M) am currently homeless and the clothes that I've been wearing are starting to get worn out, a couple of shirts and pants being torn too. Especially with the winter season approaching, I need to get some good clothes not only to help deal with the weather but also to make myself look presentable. It's already hard enough without a haircut, so I would at least want to dress somewhat decently.
Biggest issue is that I'm more on the bigger side, like my shirts and pants are in 3XL and plenty of clothing pantries I've been to don't go up to that size, so I'm wondering if there's any place that can help me with clothes my size. Thanks for reading!
I miss my apartment. I miss my job. I miss living a 10 minute walk away from Walmart and going on 9PM walks to Walmart. I miss cooking. I miss sleeping on a bed. I miss going to the bathroom without worrying about anyone coming in. I miss having my own personal space where I don't have to perform or mask my crippling mental illnesses. I miss going to sleep with the lights completely off, watching Hulu or whatever on my phone. I miss being able to eat whenever I want and buy my OWN food instead of digging through trash or going to churches. I miss actually feeling safe. I miss walking outside for exercise and not because I have to get around from point A to B. I miss not having to worry about my surroundings when sleeping. I miss not having to constantly wake up at a certain time. I miss being able to sleep whenever I want, given I'm not busy of course. I missed being able to stay inside in the rain.
Question Voter Registration Reactivation
Hi all! I'm active duty military with my home of record in GA and my voter registration, I just found out, has been switched to inactive. I suspect probably because I was using my family's address and they've since moved out of state but I'm still a GA legal resident and that's where I pay state taxes, so I'm trying to figure out if anyone knows how I can re-activate it. All I can find online talks about updating my address but I have no address to update it to in Georgia since I am currently stationed overseas.

Question Minors or parents of minors in Georgia, if you changed their name how long was the process?
17, I plan on changing my last name soon and i'm really hoping to get everything fully changed by 2 months. The issues is: one, im obviously a minor, and two, I have an absent father. No communication with him for years, no consistent child support for the past years, and was abusive. Had a restraining order against him in the past.
Im scared how this will affect the length of my process. If you've had a background similar to mine, or even if you're just a minor, how long did it take you to fully and legally change everything?
It's a lonngggg story as to why I want it changed in no longer than 2 months but its rlly important

Question Georgia ID on google wallet - has anyone ever gotten this to work?
I just want to know it's even possible. I've spent so fucking long trying to get it to scan the card and barcode, and then in the rare occasion I can get to the facial recognition part it still gets rejected after.

Politics Georgia Power commercials
I've been seeing Georgia Power commercials left and right lately, saw one during the UGA game today.
What the hell are they for and why am I paying for them. I have NO FUCKING choice but to use this company. The ads are stupid and a waste of money.
The fact that they made 2 billion in profits from customers that have no choice but to use them is criminal.

Question absentee ballot request
does the website not work for anyone else when
trying to upload your absentee ballot application?
my document is only 3.1 MB in size and yet i’m in loading limbo.
this seems a little fishy considering everything going on in the news about absentee ballots recently….

Question Looking for old mom-and-pop general stores or weathered gas stations near Buford/Suwanee, GA
Hey y’all! 👋🏾
I’m looking for some of those old-school, mom-and-pop places around Buford or Suwanee that still have that classic Georgia feel — especially:
- Old general stores or country stores
- Weathered/old gas stations
- Old service stations or mechanic shops
- Small roadside businesses
- Older buildings that have been around for decades
- Places that may be closed but still standing
I’m especially interested in hidden gems that might not show up on Google Maps or the usual lists.
If you know of one, I’d really appreciate the name, general location, or even a road/intersection. Old photos or stories about the place would be awesome too!
Thanks in advance! 🙌🏾

Question Georgia roommates?
Hi, is there a sub for finding housing in GA? I couldn't find one. Have a friend who just got kicked out and can't even find a shelter, over by Augusta. I figure she might be able to find a cheap room near a college where there's multiple students in one place. She's on disability so she has an income and can move anywhere in the area. Just need to find a place before she burns all her money on a hotel.

Question Georgia Criminal Background Check Questions related to speed tickets and court dockets.
Hi. Florida resident here. I recently paid off a 10mph over speed ticket (80mph in a 70mph) that i received by a GSP back in May of this year. Decided not to fight it since this was my first speed ticket i ever had and didn't want to drive 4 hours back to fight it with a lawyer this time. it was for Speeding. that's it. Ticket was ran thru State Court.
Just one more reminder i am a Florida driver who was driving back from Georgia on the interstate when this happened. i paid the ticket in June of this year.
- Do speed tickets like mine show up on a criminal background check for jobs and apartments once paid to the state court? or does it just show up on the driving record?
- Since the speed ticket is still under criminal dockets in state court of Georgia, will that pick up on the criminal background check as well?
NOTE: it was NOT a SUPERSPEEDER just regular speeding.

Question Cheaper way to send hardcopy mail to legislature?
I've written a letter that I've decided I want to send to all members of the legislature, but I really don't want to spend nearly $200 to do it with a stamp from the post office. Aside from electronic means, are there any cheaper ways to do this? Is there a physical dropbox around the capitol for letters to legislative members?

Question Rock City Enchanted Pumpkin Patch
Has anyone actually been to this? Im seeing it a lot on TikTok and it looks really cool. Sadly, I am to the point I question every single thing I see on social media. I would love anyones real opinion on how it is. I assume it is kid friendly but would it be a good adult date night also?
