Which is the better franchise about fighting Hell — Diablo, or DOOM?

This is a seriously tough one, I know 😅

This is awesome, I was just imagining something like this as well as a fps Diablo.

Yeah the funny thing is that's not even the example I wanted to use. There's quite a number of interesting projects like that.

Diablo has such a kickass universe.

Its just a shame its owned by modern Blizzard.

The correct answer is yes.

DOOM. They've done a great job of respecting the franchise's legacy while continuing to innovate and keep things fresh. The worst game in the series isn't even close to being a bad game.

Neither, I prefer Devil May Cry

As a franchise DOOM is probably better, especially given the quality of its more recent offerings.

For me personally though, Diablo II Lord of destruction is a strong contender for best game of all time

DOOM was my first exposure to videogames & the reason I was obsessed with "The Meatball Demon" as a toddler. Anyone that's ever played Doom 1 or 2 knows EXACTLY WHO I'm talking about...😅🤣

DOOM.

I still play Doom 1 and 2 every year or two. Diablo doesn't really hold up in the face of better games that use the same combat style like Hades 2.

Every Diablo from 2 onward is the digital version of that study where they put a rat in a cage with a button that dispenses a food pellet randomly every X number of tries and the rats push the button until they die.

Diablo has the better, richer story line. Doom has the cooler protagonist.

They are pretty equal actually it’s a tough one but if I had to pick it would be doom, it’s literally just him and big ass guns

DOOM is still innovating. Diablo is pulling past game material to farm nostalgia. I'm voting DOOM.

Gun to my head, tears in my eyes, Diablo.

Diablo. Although modern Diablo is ass because modern Blizzard is ass.

I would say Diablo because Doom is very one note. Doom Guy/Slayer kills demons and closes portals to hell. It's an awesome note so I'm not complaining, but Diablo has more variety in it's characters, stories, and gameplay.

Also the expanded lore in the newer DOOM games absolutely tanks the coolness factor of it all

I prefer Diablo because I like fantasy. I also just prefer Boltgun to the modern Doom games.

Boltgun over Doom 16 or Eternal is insanity

Didn't play Eternal. Didn't enjoy 2016 much and wasn't willing to put more money into the games since I didn't enjoy the first one.

I feel you on that but played both, eternal is everything 2016 should’ve been

Eternal is actually a lot different from 2016. I wouldn't assume if you don't like one you won't like the other.

Both different games for different people

DOOM is FPS crowds favorite single player fps

Diablo isn’t any crowds favorite

I do like Diablo more since I’m not big on FPS outside of multiplayer.

Diablo isn’t any crowds favorite

...Diablo is the grand-father of isometric ARPGs as we know them, and it is also many people's favorite ARPGs of all time.

Each addition to the franchise taints the name imo

Diablo isn't any crowds favorite

Diablo 2 has a huge cult following and is pretty much the favorite for a majority of the ARPG fanbase
