What games have save info carry into the next game? (Like Witcher and Mass Effect)

I was thinking about this after playing Witcher 1 for the first time and starting Witcher 2. I haven't played Witcher 3 in a while and forgot it asks you questions at the beginning to basically make the decisions from the previous game. Its such a cool thing. I loved it in Mass Effect especially carrying over created character. In Witcher too it carried over special gear I had at the end of 1.

I wish this was a more popular thing but I realize it takes a certain game to pull off. Are there any other games that do something similar that I may have not heard of? Any as good as Mass Effect or Witcher?

Its been awhile since I played so I forget if Baldurs Gate 2 had anything specific carry over from 1.

Golden Sun on the GBA, had the option to import the characters from the first game to the second with a custom code. No code and you still got the characters but not the exact stats & inventory from first game.

Knew I'd find it. Man that was cool as hell but if you were a kid with untreated adhd and bad handwriting it was frustrating to get right

u/stuffeh 1d ago

How's your handwriting now?

u/rowingpostal 1d ago

Dogshit. Not a lot of writing in my day to day life

3

u/talented_fool 1d ago

Notepad solved that dilemma for me

3

u/SonofaSlumlord 1d ago

That was me in the late 80's writing down the password wrong playing Metal Gear on NES and having to start back at the beginning again. I learned to write clearer, and to differentiate 1's from I's, and the letter O from zero that day.

Ratchet and Clank on the PS2. If you had certain weapons in the first game, you would be able to get them free or discounted in Ratchet and Clank 2. Same witg being able to get weapons from 2 in Ratchet and Clank 3.

24

u/MisterToots666 1d ago

Oh cool I didn't know this

35

u/Quitthesht Xbox 1d ago

To make it even cooler, you get hired by Gadgetron late into RaC1 and Ratchet asks if that means he gets an employee discount, the CEO says you have to be with the company for 2 years before the discount kicks in.

RaC3 released 2 years later in 2004 and you get your discount if you have a save from RaC1 that got to the point where you get hired by them.

Also in RaC3 if you have a save from RaC2 the weapon smuggler Slim Cognito smuggles your old Arsenal in for you (meaning you get most of your RaC2 weapons free).

u/VaginalOdour 1d ago

You could get a gadgetron employee discount in ratchet and clank three, but only if you had gotten far enough in the first one to be hired by them which happens in a pretty late game hoverboard race.

3

u/reallygoodbee 18h ago

IIRC, Ratchet and Clank, there's a joke about you getting your Gadgetron 10% off coupon "in roughly two years". Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, if you have a R&C1 save on your memory card, you can go and claim your coupon and use it for 10% off Gadgetron weapons.

u/Nephid 1d ago

Infamous 2 would read your save from the first game and let you carry your character over

25

u/MisterToots666 1d ago

Man I played Prototype instead of infamous and have been really hoping for a remaster to jump in.

21

u/GaZzErZz 1d ago

They are both excellent games. Don't think you made the wrong choice. Prototype and infamous are amazing

Dragon Age Inquisition is another large one. Lots of choices from Origins and DA:2 carried into that game. You could upload a save or use a navigator to change your choices

203

u/pebrocks 1d ago edited 1d ago

And then the next game had 3 choices. 3.

Oh and all those choices you made in the past games? Doesn't matter as the rest of the world is destroyed.

21

u/saltlampshade 1d ago

Nothing will ever piss me off more than the fucking disappointment Veilguard was. I loved the story and characters of Inquisition and was so excited to see how the story ended. Instead everything other than the final cutscene was colossal dogshit.

3

u/tawoorie 20h ago

Does Veilguard have good combat at least?

2

u/Filion199 19h ago

It's pretty good, but relies too much on a single mechanic of priming and detonating combos. I got bored of it before I was done with my playthrough.

3

u/tawoorie 18h ago

So more of what they did in Andromeda?

68

u/Impressive-Dog5301 1d ago

I’m not gonna go to Veilguard but you do have to do some kind of soft reset eventually. Accounting for 3 games worth of sequentially layered choices is nigh impossible. More should have carried over from Inquisition given how much a cliffhanger it left on but you’re still probably looking at a single digit number of choices at best

25

u/saltlampshade 1d ago

Yes but Dragon Age Veilguard was not the game to do it because it was the only direct sequel in the series. A reset would defintely made sense after this one but doesn’t matter now because the series is probably dead.

14

u/The12Ball 1d ago

But that was (part of) the point of the Keep. Allows new players to go through and make the important decisions without having to play several games

So much promise. Then DA2 basically took exquisitely crafted, semi original world and applied a mall ninja filter

26

u/khinzaw 1d ago

DA2 and DAI have their problems, but imo the most important element for Dragon Age is the writing and it stayed pretty good for the most part.

Then DATV happened.

5

u/Natsirk99 1d ago

I'm still trying to figure out the point of the wisps in Neve's room. They were a big distraction, annoying, the story started going somewhere, they were going to catch something and then ...

2

u/GW_1775 1d ago

Agreed. I will never understand why they decided to change the art style and then proceed to water down all the things that made Origins unique. I’m still mad that they changed the companion AI programing. There was nothing more satisfying to me than fine tuning my party to behave exactly how I wanted them to without having to actively control them.

Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 and the Throne of Bhaal expansion do this so well. Carry over important decision, some items, relationships, who lived, who died, etc.

5

u/Sylanthra 23h ago

Lol no, Dragon Age 2 takes a save from Dragon Age Origins and reference some of the choices you made in Origins. Inquisitions takes a save from the previous and completely ignores it. Did a character die? Doesn't matter, they are alive now. Did you make a choice that would prevent something from happening. Doesn't matter, it happened anyways.

10

u/Kile147 22h ago

Didn't Inquisition use the Keep system instead of a previous save? Instead of looking at save data you see a tapestry of all the major choices in the previous games and say what you want those to be, then import that result as the start of your Inquisition save file.

Used to be very common in old CRPGs to import characters, often with their gear. Wizardry practically required it in some games, the Bard's Tale Games (which even allowed you to import characters from other CRPGs), the Quest for Glory series, the AD&D Gold Box games and the Eye of the Beholder games all had this feature and I'm probably forgetting a bunch.

Baldur's Gate 1,2 and Throne of Bhaal had a fun sidequest where imported characters could aquire pantaloons from the three games and somehow forge them into a player controlled mech in Throne of Bhaal (that was wildly impractical because it was too big to move around several maps)

18

u/MisterCheeseOfAges 1d ago

Rea through the comments looking for a mention of Quest for Glory. Thank you

6

u/docgravel 1d ago

TIL about the pantaloon mech.

5

u/edwinodesseiron 21h ago

You actually got two things over in Amkethran if you carried the pantaloons over. You got a Big Metal Unit, which is a full plate +3 with broken stats (-10 AC, 14 vs slashing, 13 vs piercing and missle, backstab immunity, +5% magic resistance, turns your character model into Iron Golem), and Big Metal Rod (Crossbow) which creates its own ammo - Frag Granade, Pulse Ammunition and Scorcher Ammunition. Basically Skull Trap, Magic Missle and Agannazar Scorcher launcher IIRC

8

u/APeacefulWarrior 23h ago

IIRC you literally could not play Wizardry 2 and 3 without carrying a party forwards from the prior game(s). At least in their original releases.

I was still most impressed by how Quest For Glory did this, though. You can carry the same character across all five games, even though the series spanned a decade. That's commitment, especially given how long QFG5 took to come out.

3

u/russbird 20h ago

Eye of the Beholder! You could start a new party in later games, but importing a strong team really helped. Man, I sunk days into this one as a kid.

Telltale games like The Walking Dead did. The degree of how much was carried forward changed from game to game.

32

u/stevenjameshyde 1d ago

Yes. I wonder how they'll manage this for The Wolf Among Us 2 given that the console I completed the original on gave up the ghost about a decade ago

20

u/ediskrad327 1d ago

Easiest would be to carry forward saves from the upcoming remaster. No clue if they'll do (or even if they can) import from the original.

→ More replies (2)

4

u/alfooboboao 1d ago

didn’t telltale very smartly make it so it seemed like you were making choices, but it was actually an illusion?

7

u/ediskrad327 1d ago

It varied how much depending on the game. Batman Season 2 had massive changes depending on your relationship with "John Doe".

6

u/ermagerditssuperman 1d ago

The choices you made in Walking dead had huge effects, like who died. Or if someone fied vs being maimed. Someone hating you enough to leave your group. Etc.

4

u/docgravel 1d ago

There were some moments where it was like “who is going to live or die?” only to have the character that lives exist the story in the next chapter anyway. Maybe that character would return for a sequel. Overall I think this thought of the choices not mattering comes from the occasional “<name> will remember that” when you made a choice but it probably barely mattered.

One of my pet peeves in games are that choices are usually “choose option A or B” during a quick time event. Make the things that happen during gameplay matter!

One excellent example of this is that in the original Deus Ex game there is a scene where you’re in someone’s apartment and you get attacked and the objective updates to flee out the window. The character tells you to flee out the window. However, if you do, that character dies. If you stay and fight there’s a way that they live and that character is relevant for the rest of the game. The game also had a few moments where some major plot points could be revealed early if you decided to defend people against your allies if you felt what was happening was unjust. But to trigger these you had to actually engage in friendly fire.

DA Inquisition pulls from Origins and DA2. There used to be website where you could upload the save and then tweak decisions and build a new one. Not sure if it's still up though.

The Banner Saga is really good if you like tactics games. But that carries directly over into 2 and 3. Lime who died, ending you got, even down to the items and things you had.

28

u/WordsOnTheInterweb 1d ago

The dragon age keep is the site, it was still up as of a few months ago when I was messing around with the games (and then not playing, as one does). It's pretty comprehensive, although some of the impact is pretty minor, just in the form of a letter or codex entry.

I played those games back and forth so many times. I think you had to play 4 full playthroughs to get everything unlocked?

I had a GBC (purple see through one), my brother had the GBA. He even let me use his to get the Advance shop items.

I remember printing out the walkthrough off of gamefaqs for one of those at my grandparents house, not thinking it would be an enormous number of pages. Grandma was pissed that I wasted that much paper / ink.

3

u/AmberPeacemaker 1d ago

Hahhah I did the same with a walkthrough of Golden Sun. But in my case I printed from a pdf of the Prima Official Strategy Guide. In full colour. Surprised I didn't get beat for that one, it was like 300 pages IIRC

Tears of the Kingdom also carry your horses from BoTW.

32

u/sandius_maximus 1d ago

The Armored Core series does this. You can carry over your parts and builds between games in the same "generation."

Meaning, for example, that you could bring the same mech from Armored Core 3 to its sequel, AC: Silent Line, then to Nexus, Nine Breaker and Last Raven. But then Armored Core 4 came out, which started a new storyline and combat system, so you couldn't carry over to the new generation. (Especially since it was on a different console anyway.)

26

u/invyros 1d ago

The Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes save file would transfer into Phantom Pain to unlock some stuff, like a sneaking suit.

Dead Space 1 into Dead Space 2 into Dead Space 3

Having a completed Dead Space 1 save gives Isaac access to his classic refurbished Plasma Cutter at the very first store kiosk in Dead Space 2. In Dead Space 3, having a Dead Space 2 save unlocks the heavy Planet Cracker Plasma Cutter immediately upon reaching the weapon crafting bench.

8

u/Fugaciouslee 1d ago

I think you could import your character, you lost equipment and were set to level 8 if I remember correctly.

11

u/Wullsterino 1d ago

Yes, but some of the equipment could only be found if you'd got them in the first game like Balduran's helmet and the golden pantaloons. You could also (if you were very quick hammering the space bar) pause the game in the black screen just before loading in and being "killed" drop all your equipment so it was in the cage when you started playing.

7

u/Fugaciouslee 1d ago

Oh, I didn't know about that last bit. Not that it matters much, you get powerful fast even without the cheese. Drizzt never stands a chance.

6

u/Zleck-V2 1d ago

From 1 to 2 it was stats, class, level, Bhaal powers and whether you kept the golden pantaloons or not. As i recall if you did keep them they were stashed close to where you start

2

u/brazthemad 1d ago

There were several other unique weapons that could be upgraded in later content including the flail you got from the gnoll keep

2

u/Gcleff06 1d ago

I'm curious, if stats and everything carried over, did the game get harder from the get go if you did that?

5

u/Fluff42 1d ago

No, there was no scaling. There were a number of mods that massively improved the enemy's tactics, the big one being Sword Coast Stratagems.

2

u/Zleck-V2 1d ago

Nah it stayed the same, as i recall if you created a new character you were only a level or two below the max in BG1. There were no feats or skills in 2nd Edition DnD which BG 1 and 2 were based on, so the difference was like a couple of HP and an extra 1 or 2 on the dice roll.

16

u/Valuable_Idea_995 1d ago

Shenmue 2 allows you to carry all the money and collectible items you earned from forklift racing and the like from the first game. Also, the photos taken with the in game camera which was probably the coolest feature.

However, your character has all of his money stolen in the first 5-10 mins of the game so the only opportunity you have to use it is by buying a map of the starting area. A cool idea but poor execution.

7

u/MisterToots666 1d ago

That's kinda funny ngl

15

u/Loser-kun 1d ago

The Quest for Glory series. You can bring your character through all five games. There's even a fun mechanic in the second game that tracks certain things you did or didn't do, and if you avoid doing anything dishonorable, you receive the title of Paladin. If you then import your save to the next game, the Paladin class is available to you! I managed to do this with a thief, which is not easy because you can't steal

u/hawque 1d ago

Suikoden data could be imported to Suikoden 2 but it was fairly limited iirc. Unlocked a little bit of extra stuff and would rename the first game’s hero to match your save - sort of. It only took the capital letters, so if you’d named your character John it would update from McDohl to JcDohl.

4

u/taco__night 1d ago

I think this was fixed in the remasters!

Also, wasn't there some data transfer between S2 and S3?

And S4 to Suikoden Tactics?

2

u/SovFist 1d ago

Did they fix this on the recent remaster.

12

u/WarmPandaPaws 1d ago

Destiny 1 to 2 let you bring your character forward, but I don’t recall it having any meaningful impact on anything. Still appreciated it. Same for Champions of Norrath back in the day.

It's been a while since I've played BG2 but you can carry over your character. I don't think any decisions from BG1 effect the playthrough though.

8

u/NoMorePorridge1 1d ago edited 1d ago

There is of course the famous secret if you keep the Golden Pantaloons! [Importing to BG 2: "My Claw of Kazgaroth, gone! Everything gone! Huh... Why do I still have the Golden Pantaloons?"] I think it makes sense not to export the Helm of Balduran but to export the Claw of Kazgaroth because its better. You only keep one and the Helm supersedes the claw IIRC.

The only other thing that carries over is the effect of stat books, so you should use them all on characters you're going to export to 2, even if the stat-gain is more useful for an NPC.

10

u/Royta15 1d ago

IIRC in the SNES version of Wizardry, your party from WIzardry 1 carries over to 2. If your party dies in 2, you legit have to replay part 1 to get a new party.

Golden Sun had a carry-over of your party to the sequel, which was really cool at the time. Would carry over everything, from gold to items to level. You could use an (insanely complex) password, or link two GBA's together.

6

u/moonMoonbear 1d ago

Golden Sun was mentioned, time to boot up the GBA for another playthrough

4

u/Excellent_Mixture 1d ago

Arkandian Legends. gave you extra content and bonus items depending on your choices and achievements.

What's so special in this you ask? It's a series of FLASHGAMES,
a series of flashgames had saves carry over in-between installments.

I think you can still play it on flashpoint, but I don't know if the carry over feature works there.

2

u/MisterToots666 1d ago

Oh that's cool would it just make a save file locally to read from or use cookies?

2

u/BadDogSaysMeow 1d ago

Sadly I have no idea,
the thought that flashgames could read data from other flashgames seems like a huge security issue; but flashplayer was lynched for being unsecured; so maybe.
Butif it were so easy, then why didn't other flashgames do this?
Flashgames were passion projects, I bet most developers would love to collab with other artists by giving you bonus content if you'd played games of other authors. But I cannot think of a single game that did so.

The other thing that's possible is that it needed internet connection to read your Kongregate (one of the mainstream game websites) profile and checked achievements there, and unlocked content based on them.

In that case the carry over feature probably doesn't work on flashpoint.

2

u/MisterToots666 1d ago

Huh that makes sense with the website. Flash games really are a lost art form and and (probably like most) my original introduction to gaming as a whole. But its awesome things like Flashpoint exist to preserve them.

2

u/AmberPeacemaker 1d ago

So in the case of Arkandian Legends, the creator put out a complilation on Steam that has practically every game they created in Flash.

spellforce 1

spellforce always made stand alone spinoffs (so each spellforce 1 2 and 3 had multiple campaigns you could purchase and play on their own).

if you finished spellforce 1 the order of dawn or spellforce 1 breath of winter, you can then use those saves to play further in spellforce 1 shadow of the phoenix.

interestingly, the player character you would NOT choose to play as in the third game would still show up there since the two artifacts you find while playing those games have to be combined in order to defeat the enemy.

all 3 spellforce 1 games are btw available on steam as the "spellforce: platinum edition" for 10 bucks or 2.50 on discount (like right now).

they might be over 20 years at this point but I still consider spellforce 1 the order of dawn to be the goat pc game so anyone with interest in rts/rpgs should try it at some point, it even got a qol patch 3 years ago for its 20th anniversary to smooth out a few things.

.Hack// G.U. series on ps2 had it

2

u/Buzz_81 1d ago

A real oldie, but Quest for Glory did this. 5 games in total.

2

u/adol1004 1d ago

not exactly what you are finding but, Legend if Zelda Breath of the wild lets you have a wolf link as a companion with an amiibo. but if you have a twilight princess HD remaster in WiiU and played that with the same amiibo, the wolf had more health in BotW.

2

u/chumblestiltskin 1d ago

Sorcery! is great for that. You get a code moving between the 4 games that carries over your character and items. Some random items you pick up in game 1, might be vital to your playthrough of game 4.

u/LifeIsOnTheWire 1d ago

Shenmue 1 and 2.

You could import your Shenmue 1 save game in Shenmue 2. It would give you your progress in fighting moves, money, and inventory.

One notable benefit is that you get robbed early in Shenmue 2 and lose all your money, but you can visit pawn shops to sell your collectable items. You could buy vending machine toys in the first game, and then sell those collections in the second game

2

u/Silluvaine 1d ago

Dragon age, in the later games you'll have to recreate your choices in a save game creator but its essentially the same

2

u/Loser-kun 1d ago

The Quest for Glory series. You can bring your character through all five games. There's even a fun mechanic in the second game that tracks certain things you did or didn't do, and if you avoid doing anything dishonorable, you receive the title of Paladin. If you then import your save to the next game, the Paladin class is available to you! I managed to do this with a thief, which is not easy because you can't steal

2

u/Mdgt_Pope 1d ago

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age had a save transfer

2

u/bearface93 1d ago

Life is Strange. LiS 2, Double Exposure, and Reunion ask when you start a new game what your final decision was in the first game, and there are some dialogue or setting changes based on that.

2

u/wij2012 Xbox 1d ago

I think you can/could carry your Guardian over from Destiny to Destiny 2. But don't quote me on that, I haven't play 2 and only played the first one for a little bit.

Telltale's The Walking Dead

2

u/thalandhor 1d ago

Baldur's Gate 1, 2 and Throne of Bhaal were the Mass Effect before Mass Effect. It's really fun to see your character go on this huge journey.

2

u/Kayonji02 1d ago

Suikoden II unlocked some extra stuff and dialogues if you loaded your S1 save

3

u/doskias 1d ago

If I recall right, if you have your PS1 memory card in slot 2 of your ps2, suikoden 3 can pull from 2 as well.

Honestly can't quite remember for sure but I'm going to throw out Xenosaga.

1

u/syrup67 1d ago

BotW to TotK would’ve been a great one. I loved TotK but they only carry over your horses lol

1

u/TidusDreamZanarkand 1d ago

Xenosaga, it barely unlocks anything worthwhile though

1

u/funAlways 1d ago

not released yet, but cassette beasts will have some data carry over to cassette beasts 2002

There was a line of old PSX RPGs called Arc the Lad. Every one let you load up your team from the previous game.

Quest for Glory, I think you can use the same save through all 5 games. Very old but a ton of fun and really great if you're into pixel art

1

u/obvious_apple 1d ago

Rogue :)

1

u/kla622 1d ago

Knights of the Old Republic 2 has this to a small extent. No save file transfer, but you are asked in dialog about the gender and light side/dark side alignment of your player character in KOTOR 1, which are impacting some details in the game.

1

u/unittype 1d ago

The original Wizardry Series. At least parts 5-8.

1

u/NineEightFive 1d ago

Trying to rack my brain as to a game that hasn't been mentioned by someone else already.

The best I've got was the transfer of all your cards from Pokemon TCG Online to Pokemon TCG Live. Technically two separate games that had a temporary window for your data to be transferred.

Maybe this will jog someone else's memory but there probably is a car game that let's you transfer your garage or something...

1

u/The--Nightman 1d ago

Baldur's Gate 1 carried over to BG2

1

u/AToqueIsAHat 1d ago

I think the old .hack games on the PS2 did this. I only ever owned the first one, though. Also, I think the Xenosaga series on the PS2 did this as well.

1

u/Xeadriel 1d ago

How does that work with cartridges though? Are they just saved in ram? I don’t think you can switch cartridges just like that, can you?

1

u/Sphynx87 1d ago

Quest for Glory series you can carry your save between all 5 games and there is even a special class you can unlock for the 3rd game if you do specific stuff in the 2nd game. A bit of an old series though so might not be your cup of tea.

1

u/StormDragonZero 1d ago

The first/earliest one I can think of is the PS2 DotHack series of games.

1

u/Alpr101 1d ago

.hack original 4 games and GU.

1

u/PloppyTheSpaceship 1d ago

Shenmue.

Then all your gear gets nicked anyway in the first two minutes.

1

u/BlackRoseXIII 1d ago

The dotHack series and the sequel series dotHack G.U. both do this. They actually flow almost seamlessly into the next game, carrying over every item, experience point, skill, etc.

1

u/TheTexan94 D20 1d ago

Ace combat ps2 trilogy, if you had save data from AC 5 on the same memory card when you booted up AC Zero, you automatically unlocked the X-02 Wyvern

1

u/NoodleDoodlesocks 1d ago

Shenmue 1 saves carries over to Shenmue 2. Sadly this feature was not included with Shenmue 3.

1

Going a bit obscure now, but the Realms of Arkania RPG series on PC. You could import your party to the next game. The series has great world building, but the game mechanics are a bit archaic. It's basically a conversion of a German tabletop RPG.

1

u/SentientDust 21h ago

Your ending of The Suffering determines the beginning of the sequel, Ties that Bind (which itself has 3 endings)

The Suffering is a real forgotten gem, the atmosphere it had was immaculate

1

u/gtrash81 21h ago

NFS Underground to Most Wanted had it.

1

u/urbanreflex 20h ago

The Shining Force III trilogy on the Sega Saturn did this. Characters, levels, story choices - these would all carry over from part one to two to three. This was especially great (IMO) because parts one and two take place roughly at the same time, you just experience the events from a different point of view. Part three then ends the story and your choices come to a conclusion.

1

u/Prime406 19h ago

Fire Emblem Radian Dawn has characters gain bonus stats if you have a completed Path of Radiance save where that character reached max level and capped out that stat

1

u/psychoPiper 19h ago

Technically AC2 lets you transfer your save to the next game, but you just lose everything at the start of the game anyways iirc

1

u/reallygoodbee 18h ago

If you linked Pokemon B2W2 to a copy of Pokemon BW with the Hall of Fame unlocked, you got some additional content for B2W2 related to N and where he went after BW.

1

u/zurcn 18h ago

adjacent at best

if you bought the newest Hitman triology as it released you were able to import your location data to the following games and it meant that you would start the next game with some items already unlocked. (more from 2 to 3 than from 1 to 2)

all of those have since been scrapped and you get all levels just from buying the most recent game

1

u/_Lemuron 18h ago

In the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom you can access your horses from the previous entry The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

1

u/Vex1111 17h ago

1

u/DecadentToast 16h ago

I think shadow of Mordor has something like this where you import loyal orcs

1

u/Offw0rlder 16h ago

Kotor 2 kinda has it but doesn't feel like it actually affects the world. Like asking questions about how and who you were in the first one

1

u/_FrenziedFirekeeper_ 15h ago

Dragon Age lets you import your decision to Set the world stage for the next :)

1

u/Shinjischneider 13h ago

Back in the day the "Quest for Glory"-games did. Which added certain classes like Paladin if you had played a knight in the previous game

1

u/Shinuz 11h ago

If I recall correctly you could import your party from Darksun 1 to Darksun 2 wake of the ravager.
