Looking for Parkour games
And by "parkour games" I mean games that are focused on parkour, not games that just happen to have parkour in them (like Dying Light or Titanfall 2).
I want something similar to Minecraft Parkour Maps or Valley (I bet barely anyone will know about it but you can watch the trailer to see what I mean). I just want to run and jump from point A to point B and not much else.
Thanks in advance!

Mirrors edge one and two? It might have some combat but I remember it being a primarily parkour game.

Mirror's edge catalyst is 95% off right now on Steam

Pretty sure it requires a quick fix to get it to work right now. It can't contact the server because said server is no longer up, so some people can get stuck at the launch screen or have it crash.
I believe this page has a fix for the issue if anyone were to come across it.

u/thefootster 1d ago edited 1d ago
I bought it and am currently playing on steam deck and it works fine for me (I'm only interested in single player though)
3
u/PornoPichu 1d ago
Did you play the first one and how does it compare if so.
5
u/Gohnny_Jaudreau 1d ago
I've played through the first one 3-4 times and it's awesome. The 2nd I couldn't bring myself to enjoy the open world as much, but it did hit similar high notes.
2
u/PornoPichu 1d ago
Thanks, I appreciate that. I remember really liking the first one when it released, but I never played the second
3
u/skimmmington 1d ago
Been awhile since I played either of them, but I remember being a bit disappointed in the sequel because it was very short and just kinda more of the same

Catalyst changes to an open world. It massively upgraded the graphics and reduced the jank of the controls from the first. Its very different but smoother and prettier. They also added more combat, but its semi-optional

Also great game

Showing my age here, but any of the Prince of Persia games from Sands of Time onward incorporate some.
14
u/CobraMisfit 1d ago
Sands of Time was amazing and holds up fairly well decades later.

u/tearlock 1d ago
With the exception of that one spot where the guy keeps shouting at you and guiding you to fix a big machine. That shouting was SO irritating.

For me the most frustrating part was when you were in a room with infinite doors and you had to guess what was the exact sequence to exit.

I can't really remember the exact part you are talking about but it still triggered me. I need to find this

Beton Brutal - Probably the most Minecraft Parkour-like game you'll find. Pretty simple, climb to the top.
Lorn's Lure - Similar vibe, but there's a story and it's more like you're doing urban exploration in an abandoned megastructure.
White Knuckle - Has some rogue-lite elements such as upgrades and meta-progression. Also some story. You climb through various sectors of a seemingly abandoned research facility while being chased by various otherworldly beings.
10
u/boogswald 1d ago
White Knuckle looks incredible. I don’t think I could handle the intensity of it. I’m so so so so impressed by that game though.
8
u/clementine_zest 1d ago
The quality of that game is actually nuts. Such a vibe too in terms of visual design
5
u/Deathcommand 1d ago
It's fun but my heart is pounding after every run.
Well not really but I'm pretty sure my BP is elevated.
6
1
u/Octobre10j 14h ago
Yeah OP Beton Brutal is pretty literally Minecraft parkour. All the way down to double tapping W to sprint lol. Great workshop support too.
117
u/cleerhil 1d ago
Clustertruck. Literally zero fluff, no combat, just pure running and jumping from point A to point B on top of speeding trucks. It hits that exact Minecraft parkour itch.

u/tombston3r 1d ago
I feel like it's disrespectful to say Dying Light is a game with "parkour in it" when one of the main characters is literally a parkour instructor and that the first several missions emphasize that you will not survive without parkour.
→ More replies (1)9
u/KYO297 1d ago
Fair, but the reason I said that is that it has fighting and I want only parkour
6
u/tombston3r 1d ago
I get ya. Wonder if there's a cheat/mod to disable all zeds. That would make Harran a perfect parkour sim in Dying Light
19
u/KamikazyKid 1d ago
Rooftops & Alleys - I haven't played it but it looks fun and seems to be a game entirely about parkour
3
u/Ochsenreiter 1d ago
Makes a lot of fun but its really physic based so its a bit hard to get into but it makes definitely a lot of fun
2
u/Cowflexx 1d ago
I second this. Practically Tony Hawk for Parkour. As someone who used it be avid freerunner - I approve 100%
2
u/wolfbane108 1d ago
Love this one. I found it way more engaging that the game was challenging enough that I couldn’t do everything I wanted to right away. I think parkour games should have complexity to their movement, and getting to learn and hone the game’s systems is part of the fun of shmovement games
1
u/rabidsalvation 1d ago
It's pretty cool, but it's hard as fuck. Something that you definitely have to practice to get good at

This is the most true and concentrated answer.
It's short but it will satisfy your parkour craving just like it did to me.

Second Rogue Prince of Persia — parkour is really solid, especially considering it is a 2D game.
33
u/Specialist_Type6214 1d ago
Ghost runner. There's also warframe. Parkour is far from the focus of the game, but the movement is heavily parkour based if you want to move fast.

6
u/KeterClassKitten 1d ago
Neon White, perhaps?
The "combat" in it is primarily focused on how to get to the next checkpoint faster. All the extra elements are ways to improve the parkour challenge.
Even if it misses the mark, it's worth checking out. Awesome indie game.
1
u/A_Trash_Homosapien 1d ago
The game is like 85% schmovement, 10% gunplay and 5% anime story. One of these days I'll do the heaven and hell rushes to 100% that game.
16
u/DrEvilGenius 1d ago
The first obvious choice I'd say is Mirror's Edge
It's a First Person Parkour game where you have to run atop and through buildings.
7
u/DrEvilGenius 1d ago
Neon White is also a pretty good "fast" game about pathing and lines etc. Not exactly parkour but parkour adjacent.
5
u/Gangleri_Graybeard 1d ago
Mirror's Edge is the obvious choice. Vholume was fun too, played it last month.
4
u/PeartricetheBoi 1d ago
Valley mention is elite ball knowledge. Try Ghostrunner for similar gameplay.

Since you've gotten quite a few normal parkour suggestions I'll throw out too that even though its not quite the same you might want to give some platforming a try as well. Seems like Celeste might scratch the same itch

RIP Brink
7
u/Wretchh91 1d ago
They really should give that game some props as im not 100% but wasnt Brink the first to do the whole fluid motion, like grabbing overhanging ledges in first person, it was its main selling point as no other game at the time had similar motion.

u/DerelictBombersnatch 1d ago
Brink looked so amazing, unfortunately it never quite lived up to its potential. But it's the first game I thought of when and it's now free to play on Steam. Might actually spin it up again.

Neon white is a fun one. Basically traverse levels and pickup one time use movement abilities to clear each stage. Good time if you want to just turn your brain off but also has secrets in each level to collect which require you to get a bit creative with your resources. music is a banger too.

Mirrors Edge is the soul of this genre.
Best thing about the game is you can beat it without firing a gun. Probably one of my favourite Xbox 360 era games.
2
u/soulscythesix 1d ago
Deadcore? It's platforming more than parkour, but you said Minecraft parkour maps, and they're not really parkour either, so maybe it's what you're looking for
1
u/Dusk_dragon_eye 1d ago
Isnt deadcore the one that times you for all of the levels? Climb the tower in the sky type of deal? Pretty fun game.

VHOLUME Just released recently and is an incredible parkour speed running game
2
u/NoodleDoodlesocks 1d ago
Cloudbuilt isn't precisely parkour but it is all about traversal from the start of the level to the end.
Hover is another game primarily about traversal than straight up parkour. More vertical traversal than horizontal. You can freely run about the level(s) and do the missions when you want.

Vholume.
Ignore everyone saying Mirrors Edge. The game is fine but if you want to just run around and have fun, that game is gonna suck for you. If anything you'll have 30 seconds of fun before getting frustrated by the increasingly fun-killing combat sequences. I like the game but I wouldn't ever play it again.
What you're looking for is Vholume. Trust me. It's only $8.00 and has community maps too.

u/boogswald 1d ago
It’s so fun! It’s got exploitable controls too so there’s a nice fun chill way to play and then there’s that higher skill ceiling too. Initially it feels janky but that jankiness changes into skill expression. Then sometimes you’re just like “what happens if i climb to the top of this thing?”
It just does what it wants to do and doesn’t add a bunch of bullshit that you don’t want to do.

CS surf maps and rocket league obstacle course mod maps are all I can think of on top of Mirrors Edge.
1
u/TurboZ31 1d ago
I don't think they have parkour specifically, but Riders Republic might be up your alley. It's basically a bunch of tiny courses like you describe
1
u/smr120 1d ago
There's more gameplay than just running between points, but sometimes I boot up Assassin's Creed Unity just to run around. It's a fantastic movement system. I recommend a mod that fixes the physics though bc otherwise the coattails move stiffly and it's very distracting from otherwise very fluid and satisfying movement.

1
u/HanzoNumbahOneFan 1d ago
Hmm. I don't know if it counts as parkour. But if by "parkour" you mean "interesting and fluid movement to get from point A to point B", perhaps Neon White? The game consists of individual levels where you have to get through them as quickly as possible. Using single use abilities that you pick up through the level to do it as fast as possible.

Warframe can be a great parkour game. Zip through the levels at ungodly speeds and only fight what you absolutely have to. Different planets with their own movement mechanics too. One has a hoverboard complete with Tony Hawk style tricks and scoring.

I don't have a game to recommend, but this got me thinking; why has no one made a Tony Hawk style game, but with parkour.

u/InquizinatorX 1d ago
NEON WHITE.
Get from A to B, kill demons, they give you a "card" that is an additional weapon until you use it's "movement" ability, and then it expires. You kill to move and move to kill, and the music is Devine.
The whole game is about getting creative with the movements available on the map and getting to the end of the level as fast as you can, and the story is pretty rad as well.

CICADAMATA - not quite what you asked since it has shooting too, but it could be something? Worth at least a look.

CICADAMATA looks like heavily inspired by Marathon’s visual indetity. Pretty cool.
1
u/A_Trash_Homosapien 1d ago
I'd definitely say Neon White. It's like a mix of parkour and Halo/Titanfall abilities. It's got grapple hooks, rocket/grenade jumps, dashes all while you run through the levels as fast as possible trying to optimize how you do so.
1
u/Nahellaref 1d ago
Dying light 2 has one of the most fluid larkour systems available. If you don't mind using mods, it just might turn out to be what you want.

Uncharted 4s parkor is very smooth and satisfying and sometimes cinematic and a great story lots and lots of parkor and climbing in that game
