Question Cursive medium

I'm in love with the CM Pilot nib. I love how it keep the movements controlled by making it less smooth, I love the line variation an how expressive it is.

Please recommend me nibs that can do the same magic or better. Don't forget... I'm a tropical gnome, I can't afford ultra expensive things.

TWSBI Eco 1.1 Stub should yield similar results on paper, but I've heard it's a different feel due to the different shape of the tip. Comparison here (in Japanese): https://youtu.be/M1yDEb8V9k0?is=qY80--95-IMssWkF

Of course, you can also try out stub nibs in pens like Lamy Safari and Kaweco Sport, they sell the nib separately, if you already have the pen so you don't have to buy the whole pen again.

My personal favourite though, is Sailor Fude de Mannen. The line thickness varies with angle, and at my normal writing angle (pretty stiff!), it writes like a mini architect, I think. It's plenty of fun and affordable. Apparently he nib is also compatible with Sailor Hi-Ace Neo body, which comes with a stub nib options; but I've never tried that.

Yup TWSBI stub is smooth! Sailor Fude has more "resistance" to it.

love ur username btw! makes me wonder what a pumpkin would have to be ashamed  of.

based on the post i think OP is looking for something with more feedback than a twsbi stub.

im personally wanting to get into flex/fude/etc nibs when i can afford it so im gonna look into that sailor Fude de Mannen myself!

Depending on your budget; Custom grind from nibmeister fine/medium cursive italic Franklin Christoph Pens with SIG nib or Fine/medium cursive italic nibs Parker has a range of medium italic nibs for brand new options. If you search around for vintage nibs, you could get a vintage italic gold nib from parker duofold slimlines or duofold juniors for sub 100 AUD if you search around. For wider but cheaper options; Asvine stubs and Jowo stubs are servicable. Their edges tend to be smoothed out so you dont those crisp lines. If you want to have a fun project, get a jowo/asvine stub and grind down the edges of the tipping material with micromesh. Doodlebud has a video dedicated to italic grinds if you want details.

Kanwrite broad cursive italic should scratch that itch. It definitely is my personal favorite stub.

Find Pilot Plumix M or better Pluminix M. It is discontinued, but could be found online. Nice polished steel nib no iridium ball. Made quite durable comparing even to Kakuno.
