I didn't even know she made some comments. But now that she brought it up - yikes!

u/somewhereoverthedune 12h ago

Her right-wing arc is coming.

134

u/Salt-Operation 12h ago

Already has

97

u/commandantskip 12h ago

She's sporting the blonde hair already

33

u/JulienS2000 12h ago

It’s already here

9

u/Lazy-Excitement-3661 7h ago

It was probably always there

2

u/BannedAccount001 10h ago

She referred back to February 2024 in the article:

“And of course we know that life is better now than it was then.”

She also glazed Charlie Kirk.

She’s already full right-wing. That’s why she can’t understand why everyone continued to distance themselves. She’s delusional like the rest of them.

147

u/RoxyLA95 14h ago

She seems like a raging Islamophobic.

38

u/Better_March5308 8h ago

That comment was a tad over the top.

To back up a bit, that comment, which was deleted once it generated backlash, went like this: “Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.”

15

u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen 7h ago

Yeah, she basically said Islam is a mind virus that destroys countries.

"May they meet their fate" is she wishing death upon Muslims or am I overthinking this

6

u/joethedreamer 3h ago

What’s insane about this comment and that line of thought in general, is how many people do you know - or does she know being converted to Islam?

This is a ridiculous take. Is this the talking points for all these islamaphobic people? Cause I would like some stats if so haha

Holy shit. I never knew about this comment before. It’s crazy to me that she is whining and complaining about how the comment impacted HER negatively. How it impacted HER son. But no time spent on how that comment impacts the people she hurled it towards. How it impacts THEIR kids. Such fucking privilege!

251

u/jl_theprofessor 15h ago

lol I was like “how bad could it be?”

Then I was like whoa

187

u/drunkeymunkey 14h ago

Right, why in the hell would she bring this up again???

Oh, she still thinks she is the victim lmao

39

My exact experience too. What did she say? To Yikes!

33

u/No_University7832 14h ago

I added one word and her statement is no longer controversial “Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. (RADICAL) Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.”

*She was so close

39

u/Bambi_H 13h ago

It's still stupid, because Islam and Muslim are the same thing. They're the same faith. And she was still being islamophobic.

41

u/bloodpukesalvation 12h ago

They are not the same thing. Islam is a religion, or belief system, Muslims are the people who follow that belief system.

One is a religion the other is a people.

15

u/Bambi_H 12h ago

Well, yes, but in her statement she's conflating them. And the people who follow Islam are Muslims. And the Muslims are people who follow Islam.

In her comments when looking back on what happened I found this comment interesting:

“And of course, my manager, my supposed friend of 30 years, and a Jew, was gone too.”

Maybe I’m reaching here, but it seems like her mindset is that other Jews at minimum shouldn’t have had issue with what she said.

13

u/coldbru85 13h ago

Hence why she didn’t have much sympathy with her medical condition and had to parade around with it to get attention

Yo homie, you must be new here. If you click the link at the top there's an article that has all the context then people come here to discuss it. Well nobody actually does that but they used to. Nm, you'll fit in fine here.

Which is blocked if you have an ad blocker meaning you have to type in archives and go around to see it. There's a reason people copy articles to the comments. You must be new here.

She can never be let to read a book or article about secular leaders of muslim majority countries that her government “deleted” for the sake of American profit. Nope, Arabs (and other countries of Muslim majority) just love having terrorism. Yep that’s it /s

If she point out it was the regressive interpretation of Islam that makes up a majority of the goverments in the middleeast has done nothing but harm to the citizens it would've been fine but as it stands it just reads like she's targeting all Muslims which is a shitty thing to do

227

u/CaughtALiteSneez 17h ago

Today I learned about her comment and it is bad:

“Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.”

What sort of career has she had anyway since the ‘00s?

110

u/Morgan-Moonscar 17h ago

Not much since she was dealing with MS.

This comment however destroyed any goodwill she got from her health problems.

55

u/Haldered 17h ago

Vile hate speech, she was not blacklisted enough, it's disgraceful that she still has a career at all

18

u/CaughtALiteSneez 16h ago

11

u/ReaderBeeRottweiler 16h ago

She has multiple sclerosis and didn't work for a long time. She is now in remission after bone marrow/stem cell treatments. I believe she had just started working again when she made that comment.

2

u/Dairy_Ashford 13h ago

she was in the Anger Management sitcom Charlie Sheen did after Two and a Half Men, and left while publicly stating that Sheen was unprofessional.

2

u/adelltfm 13h ago

Always a side character too. Has she ever even starred in anything?

9

u/HereOnCompanyTime 16h ago

I read through the article and wasn't even comfortable posting her comment as a quote because I was afraid by account might get flagged for hate speech. Her entire speech was victimizing herself while she knew better than to repeat her words because that would lose her empathy. She's gross.

2

u/shakka74 4h ago

My account got flagged for quoting her vile post.

Alas, AI is policing what we say even though it apparently can’t decipher context. I weep for our future. Not only because dolts like Blair spread such awful hate but also because apparently we can’t even have human conversations about it!

During the Hellboy commentary she specifically asks Ron Perlman not to use profanity because it makes her feel yucky...Ron laughed at her statement.

She sounds fucking lame in her personal life, she is absolutely that Mom who helicopters the shit out of her kid and wrecks his social upbringing with her meddling.

The movie came out on DVD in 2004. That’s when the adult upset about curse words occurred, not 2026.

33

u/pwagm 16h ago

Before I read the article, I thought her comment was going to be a “like” on someone else’s post. Nope, she went all in. Not a lot of gray area in her post. I understand the backlash.

32

u/maywellbe 14h ago

Here’s the offensive tweet she posted:

> “Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.”

While this is pretty disgusting rhetoric, my instinct is that so many people walked away from her as much due to the inherent instability in the expression of the sentiment as the hatefulness. Meaning: people don’t want to be publicly and commercially tied to someone who, on any given day, might just shout something this problematic into the public square.

The world of commerce is not immune to holding regrettable — and sometimes quite gut-turning views — but it knows to be incredibly careful with their expression. Blair does not.

No one wants their brand affiliated with a person who is prone to blurting shit out on a whim when that shit can be this ugly.

12

u/TheGhostofWoodyAllen 7h ago

It is like Rosanne Barr's randomly racist tweet that basically ended her career. Like, who could have predicted that? Meanwhile you have Kelsey Grammer sharing the same horrible views, but he is smart enough to know what to say and when and thus keep getting jobs. You can't be a hateful POS and a loose cannon and expect to keep getting work.

3

u/YoghurtFlan 6h ago

The problem there is twitter. It is not a safe space, it is a space for everybody to be at their worst.

•

u/Rivet-Phoenix 1h ago

2

u/KyleFromBorrasca 14h ago

Honestly when I read the headline I assumed it was something about MS and people were just being cruel to her again.

It was not that.

66

u/Background_Sleep_863 16h ago

She made some odious comment after Charlie Kirk died too.

I already didn't like her because she shills for the MS meds while never acknowledging how impossible it is for some to afford

64

u/leesainmi 15h ago

"This incredible man. Who would go into the cauldron of indoctrination. And use logic to have dialogue. I am sick for his family. For all of us.” She also called him a true patriot LOL

2

u/Catowldragons 13h ago

Kristin Chenoweth got a lot of backlash because of what she wrote about Charlie Kirk but the thing that really got me was that she replied to this comment with agreed or something like that.

I can see where a famous person might be so insulated that all they see is “someone died, that is sad,” but agreeing with universities being cauldrons of indoctrination? That’s some right wing talking points right there.

64

u/BarcelonetaE70 16h ago

To be honest, her career was non-existant past the nineties (except for a brief pseudo-comeback thanks to the Hellboy films). Then add her living with Multiple Sclerosis to the mix, which definitely impacted whatever career she could possibly have anyway.

25

u/RandomSlimeL 16h ago

At the risk of abelism I don't think people with recurrent MS are in demand on action movie sets.

19

u/Unlucky-Duck 15h ago

She was never really that big even before MS diagnosis.

She had some roles 20 something years ago like in Hell Boy 1 and 2, Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions and that's about it.

1

u/Altruistic_Act1678 14h ago

She has relapse remitting? That’s the “better” MS so if she’s on proper meds, it could lead to a regular life. Maybe do some research before labeling her.
PS I don’t like her, but sill have to defend the MS community

2

u/nonsensestuff 14h ago

Exactly this

2

u/Fun_Description_02 13h ago

I don’t think even with a more normal life would she be able to be on an action set. A fully normal person struggles on a set due to the long hours and many long hours on your feet and physicality. Being on set is brutal. We have grueling schedules 9/10 on a set. So I can see what they’re saying and I don’t think it’s meant as a jab to MS community.

2

u/tfresca 13h ago edited 12h ago

This correct. No studio wants potential problems and she’s not famous enough to be worth the effort. I don’t think this is right but it is reality. Hollywood is racist, sexist, ageist and ableist. I will also add Hollywood so rarely hires disabled actors to play disabled people that when it does happen it’s news.

There have been many instances of actors hiding illnesses to keep working. They know how it works.

Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.

I mean she could've worded it better such stating "regressive Islam" because that's actually true, the majority of the middleeast are under regressive Islamic rule and they've done nothing but made things objectively worse for their people

whether it's Afghanistan under the taliban

Islamic Republic in Iran etc etc

But instead she comes across  that she was talking plainly about Muslims  which isn't correct

Like she paints/redecorates her bathroom every month, she has a whole little free convenience store for delivery drivers at her house, and she cleared out a whole angel tree during Christmas last year. I always see comments on her videos along the lines of “I am not using my free will to its full extent.” And just…we have all this free will. And THIS is how Selma Blair uses it???

Hahaha I’ve come across that girls videos before too. Like how does she have the energy??

But yeah… so much good people with privilege like Selma have and yet she uses her platform to punch down on an entire group of people.

Reminds me of JK Rowling. So much money, could’ve used it to make the world a better place. Instead, she chooses to spread hate.

Some people are just rotten.

Perpetual victimhood. "These things I chose to say impacted my career, whaaaaaa whaaaaa, please feel bad for meeeeeeeeee". Get outta here, lady.

u/rawcopycomics 13h ago

Good, you let us know you are a POs racist. Get fucked.

u/psketamine 16h ago

Criticism ain't anti-semitism

u/azure819 9h ago

She learned her racist actions have consequences. Oh boohoo to her

3

u/phlegmdawg 16h ago

Love seeing consequences for actions.

Another “ how dare I be held accountable for the shitty things I've said!” mentality.

The comment:

“Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.”

Yup. That’s pretty bad.

Her career was on the rocks long before this.

2

u/Secret_Net_165 16h ago

Thats not why she hasn't been seen in anything...

When you read what she said about pink being canceled it just seems like an empty apology.

Also seems like she is trying to act like the victim. Blaming the backlash to her comment for damaging her son’s childhood.

She seems abusive tbh.

Poor kid.

u/Prudent_Rice7840 7h ago

That doesn't explain her not booking anything (other than Dancing with the Stars) for three years BEFORE the IG post.

u/Maleficent_Young_524 16h ago

Is it bad to speak against religious extremism or terrorism?

9

u/ketchup_secret 11h ago

Everyone can denounce Christian nationalists but when you criticize Muslims doing terrorism you’re a racist.

Pretty much depends on what you say and how you say it, doesn’t it?

I’m sure The Daily Wire is working on some shitty movie she could definitely star in

2

u/someothervoices 14h ago

I’m glad that this article is hitting a lot of people because there’s no excuse for conflating Islam with radical fundamentalism. Interesting that she made a documentary and that it’s not about her reckoning with our words have impact. I’d rather watch documentary about her failing career because she can’t keep her mouth shut.

2

u/youshantnome 13h ago

She’s the perfect example of knowing less about a person is better.

3

u/entropicamericana 7h ago

Love this for her

1

u/WildwestPstyle 6h ago

Reddit gets up in arms about this but will mass upvote a comment that says the exact same thing about Christians and Christianity, an objectively less oppressive religion.

So what Javier Bardem apparently’did’ to Pink is a worse than a genocide in her opinion

1

u/Scripter-of-Paradise 15h ago

So that's why I haven't heard about her since 2008.

She outed herself as a truly horrific person. She's lucky anyone is willing to give her paying work at any level.

2

u/deekymoon 12h ago

Erased? She knows what it feels like to be erased? To be erased is to be wiped out systematically. To be displaced. To watch your land and people suffer and literally get erased off the face of the earth into rubble and ash.

u/Legitimate_Notice921 9h ago

I hope the career fallout continues. Go make a a movie with Ben Shapiro and shut up, lady

1

u/chiquimonkey 16h ago

Here’s the statement she posted if anyone is curious:

“Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroyed minds. They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.”

This vile person giving a speech at the war laundering propaganda organisation that shills for Israel is about all you need to know about her. She’s exactly the type of person AIPAC would fund if she decided to get into politics.

1

u/sgtpaintbrush 15h ago

Notice in the article it says that she commented on the "Israel-'Hamas'" war. They don't want you to think about what Isreal is doing to Palestine so they frame it as if theyre JUST going after hamas

u/Playful_Nothing_4645 15h ago

I feel like if anybody said what she said about Muslims about Jews or Christians, people these days would applaud it.
