Where the hell did we put Kanye??

6

u/somereallyfungi 1d ago

He’s in seclusion in the west wing

6

u/Bad_Idea_Hat 1d ago

That's a real bummer, man.

7

u/LazzarilloDeTormez 1d ago

Mind if I do a J?

3

u/xmaspruden 1d ago

That’s fuckin heavy

2

u/somereallyfungi 1d ago

At least it’s an ethos.

3

u/smuckola 1d ago

we do not speak of the west wing

the remainder of the castle is yours to roam freely as you wish BUT WE DO NOT SPEAK OF THE WEST WING I BEG OF YOU DO NOT ASK WHAT IS IN THE WEST WING

You mean the guys who has been on tour all year.

Apparently people still pay to see him perform.

Kinda surprised we don't have tons of viral videos of him saying/do crazy s**t in real time.

1

u/Desperate-You-9695 14h ago

I would for sure he’s bipolar with a coke addiction who’s been exploited by the media.

u/Googly_eyed_gremlin 1d ago

I just chuckled loudly at this during the "burning the station" scene of The Thing and my bf could not process.

Good for Mike myers but this isn’t bold, this should be as common as ‘punching grandmas is bad’.

It’s true that that statement shouldn’t be considered bold. But unfortunately we Canadians are living above a country that is currently very pro-“punching grandmas” and is threatening to punch our grandmas. And some people in our country seem to also support this idea of “punching grandmas”.

u/Trevski 1d ago

"I think the orphan crushing machine should run on weekends too"

7

u/lordraiden007 1d ago

That's a little too extreme. It should at least be off on Sundays so it can go to church and spend time crushing people's spirits.

3

u/Trevski 1d ago

it is the lords day of rest, after all

Meanwhile the other party says "Well we think the orphan crushing machine workers should get a 4 day week!"

3

u/lordraiden007 1d ago

Don't give them too much credit, most of that party supports 4 10s instead of 5 8s. It's still 40 hours of orphan crushing, just a slightly different arrangement.

Both parties also implicitly support employers who commit wage theft via unpaid overtime, so those 4 10s really turn into 4 12s or even 4 14s.

21

u/lordraiden007 1d ago

What proof do you have that punching grandmas is bad? Humanity has a long and storied history of punching grandmas! How dare you claim something so imbedded into our nature is somehow wrong!

/s, hopefully obviously. Just trying to get into the headspace of the average right wing contrarian moron.

9

u/Sensitive_Ad_1752 1d ago

Sorry, I was already radicalized before I read the /s, I just punched like 10 grandmas

6

u/lordraiden007 1d ago

Damn, I guess I'm a little too effective... maybe with this newfound power I could become a right wing podcaster and make millions off of their stupidity and gullibility.

u/Chickston 1d ago

*Embedded gif from Mike Tyson Mysteries where Tyson runs up the escalator passed an old woman only to run back and punch her in the face. RIP Norm and Tyson is still a big PoS even if sometimes entertaining.

2

u/Calm-Fun4572 1d ago

Ditto, heading to sun city already.

2

u/siamkor 21h ago

You woke people don't understand that your extremism is leading us centrists to punching grandmas!

1

u/lordraiden007 15h ago

Hey now, a true centrist would never do such a thing! With both sides being so extreme a true centrist would find a middle ground to compromise to. If one side is pro grandma punching, and the other side is anti grandma punching, a true centrist would stick to the dignified position of punching grandmas but saying sorry afterwards.

Absolutely! I regret having to punch grandmas, but when one side is cruelly punching grandmas, and the other is tyrannically trying to curtail their freedom to punch grandmas, I must stand on the side of individual freedoms and punch grandmas as a protest! I apologize afterwards, of course, and tell them the radical left made me do it.

Also, I avoid punching caucasian grandmas, because something in my brain tells me that wouldn't be right.

u/EconomyAd1600 1d ago

A lot of things shouldn’t be seen as “bold” but rather as the norm. Yet here we are.

2

u/Iggyhopper 1d ago

This is shitty journalism.

1

u/MadMadRoger 1d ago

This is shitty journalism.

1

u/VictorReal_Monster 1d ago

okay but it's currently not, which is what makes it bold.

1

u/huzy12345 22h ago

Clearly never met my wifes Grandma

1

u/Hayterfan 19h ago

‘punching grandmas is bad’.

Idk, you didn't know my grandma from my dad's side.

1

u/Altruistic_Zombie461 1d ago

Well, now there's going to be a punching grandmas initiative by the far right

The radical woke left is making women into grandmothers

86

u/Main_Syllabus_5908 1d ago

It's really sad when "Fight Facists" is a bold statement.

37

u/musicman2018 1d ago

MAGA thinks Antifa is an organization

3

u/MediocreAnalyst2121 18h ago

Inb4 they demand the CEO of antifa to answer before Congress, that is if they’re ever not in recess.

13

u/exgiexpcv 1d ago

I honestly couldn't tell if they were mocking him with that headline.

But good on him all the same. The world is in a dodgy state.

21

u/Inevitable_Ad_4487 1d ago

Shares “bold” message; ‘be nice’

4

u/Logical_Hospital2769 1d ago

Right?? Wtaf?

2

u/gphjr14 1d ago

Reminds me of people losing their minds with the shaving razor commercial that boiled down to "don't be a dick" Sad world where a basic message is seen as "bold"

2

u/OrionsBra 20h ago

Literally, "All are welcome" and "Happy holidays" are triggering to the right wing...

4

u/VictorReal_Monster 1d ago

have you looked outside since 2016.

8

u/beardsenford 1d ago

Fuck facism. Fuck yeah. Elbows up.

24

u/senza_titolo 1d ago

I love how this shirt is taboo. America has really fucked people up.

7

u/Vizekonig4765 1d ago

I wish I knew where the “he is one of the most hated actors in Hollywood to work with” rumor came from He seems like a pretty chill guy.

12

u/lanceturley 1d ago

I know he has a reputation for being a perfectionist with his work. Which is something people are willing to put up with when you're creating pop culture icons like Austin Powers and playing Shrek, but not so much when you write and star in The Love Guru.

6

u/Vizekonig4765 1d ago

That’s the thing… I think the love guru flop is what killed his career, not being a super massive asshole. But who knows.

6

u/lanceturley 1d ago

That's what I'm saying, though. People will work with an asshole if they're making money, but not if his big comeback passion project bombs like The Love Guru did. There was also the whole thing with Universal where they paid him a shitload of money to do a Sprockets movie and he backed out because he didn't like the script, which is why he had to do The Cat in the Hat to get out of his contract. And of course that was another failure.

1

u/Vizekonig4765 1d ago

Good points!

1

u/Secret_Hyena9680 18h ago

I think he made the Love Guru pretty much after everyone decided to stop working with him. I read somewhere it was made with his buddies and Timberlake was the only one that would star.

When it flopped, Hollywood really brought the knives out for him.

19

u/saddivorceddad 1d ago

Good Lord it's a chud brigade in here

4

u/FormoftheBeautiful 1d ago

One of our best Canadians!
Impeach Trump and remove all who supported him from office.

3

u/SlowSwords 1d ago

You know, the word brave gets used a lot but…

3

u/Busy-Beginning7577 22h ago

how is that statement bold? it's the fucking minimum

20

u/benopiemusic 1d ago

A t-shirt. Such a bold statement.

30

u/Gooch222 1d ago

The problem isn’t him wearing the shirt. The problem is a political climate in which it’s considered newsworthy and “bold.”

6

u/Tiny_Xander_Klaxon 1d ago edited 1d ago

Mike wearing his “Elbows Up” shirts and protesting on SNL referencing Gordie Howe helped kick off the Canadian boycott movement. It’s silly but that’s how nationalism works.

Edit: https://youtu.be/Qj9JGDHPhV4

The Moment “Elbows Up” Became a Rallying Cry Against Trump

When a national treasure wears a protest shirt, the media reports on it, and the public reacts.

3

u/Few_Personality_990 1d ago

Most Americans are simply watching their government protect rapists, destroy the environment, steal their retirement, murder their people... A T-shirt is indeed a bold statement when measured against the inaction of the most apathetic populace on Earth

1

u/Fit-Switch-5795 1d ago

The revolution is just a t-shirt away.

  • Billy Bragg

2

u/allothernamestaken 1d ago

He got caught off guard with Kanye, this time he's prepared lol.

2

u/Alarmed_Drop7162 1d ago

“Jolly Good” Gen. Ed Feneche.

2

u/_dxegrl 1d ago

I bet he could play Bibi in a new doctor evil movie.  He is awesome

2

u/DotHatrix51 1d ago

This shouldn’t be bold, this should be the norm.

4

u/NeoMrBucket 1d ago

Bold?
That's just standard.

2

u/Calm-Mushroom-8551 1d ago

I also don't like faces.

1

u/fart-mage 1d ago

I was thinking about starting a anti-kneeism movement.

2

u/IIIViceAndreas 1d ago

Ok I guess I’m a Mike Myers fan again

Michael Myers is cool too

3

u/TomBradysStatue 1d ago

Be evil, but have my feelings too. Change my life with Oprah and Maya Angelou.

But Scott rejected me.

C'est la vie

Life is cruel, treats you unfairly

0

u/RaisinWorried3528 1d ago

Eminem went the complete opposite way and embraced a white supremacist piece of shit.

1

u/Fyfaenerremulig 1d ago

Well, that’s them told

1

u/lupin43 1d ago

Hopefully the shirt is spelled a bit differently than the title of this thread lol

1

u/RamBamBooey 1d ago

It's starting to feel more like Feudalism to me lately. Anyone else getting that vibe?

1

u/ZealousidealRide7125 1d ago

Yea fuk Elon for using an Austin Powers theme video recently.

1

u/Which-Counter-6885 1d ago

George bush doesn’t like black people

1

u/ngc-arb 1d ago

Stunning and brave

1

u/LeastReactionary 1d ago

This just in! A celebrity arrives with the most luke warm take in history. This just in! A celebrity did the bare minimum when it comes to ethics! Why is this a headline? It should be the stance of every person on the planet.

1

u/Error4ohh4 1d ago

Austin powers doesn’t like trump. This makes sense

1

u/General_Kick688 1d ago

Party on, Wayne.

1

u/YourFriendPutin 1d ago

It's not bold to hold a sensible stance, however I do appreciate any celebrities who speak out. Too many are trying to stay apolitical in a time where not speaking says volumes.

1

u/Separate-Expert-4508 21h ago

What is “facism”?

1

u/Thegiant98 18h ago

So stunning, so brave.

1

u/GlassMotor7387 17h ago

So does this mean we are supposed to forget about all the teenagers that Mike Myers has killed? Justice for Lorrie.

1

u/Jabba-da-slut 16h ago

“Man Wears Shirt.”

1

u/Middle_Jelly9296 15h ago

When did Mike Myers get so yummy?!!!

1

u/CranberryNapalm 1d ago

The convenient Canadian.

Wait until you see aging rock stars.

1

u/KendrickBlack502 1d ago

A “bold” message requires a controversial statement

1

u/arcana73 1d ago

I wonder how much his plastic surgeon charges

1

u/Oirad20 1d ago

Looks like someone had a facelift 🤔

1

u/firecat2666 1d ago

“How brave.” -Norm Macdonald probably

0

u/Bronco_Bomba 1d ago

How fucking heroic of him

-2

u/mysterioso77 1d ago

Oooh, so bold, lol

0

u/Sir_Arthur_Vandelay 1d ago

I was going to wear my “Fight Democracy” shirt again today, but Mike Myers’ bold message changed my mind.

Thanks Mike, from a fellow hoser!

0

u/CNCKink518 1d ago

Weird that fight racism is a bold message

0

u/Atroxa 1d ago

He might be the one guy who actually looks better older.

0

u/Glad_Lychee_180 1d ago

Boldest shit I've seen all day.

0

u/andtheniwasallll 10h ago

Hot take to call this bold

-8

u/UrsineBasterd 1d ago

So bold. So brave.

-9

u/DjScenester 1d ago

He’s so BOLD.
Canadian who wears shirts is super BOLD.

1

u/Suicidal-Ideation13 1d ago

I mean, it's silly in this case, but it's not that inconceivable. It's just a medium; if speech can be bold at all, so can a shirt with that speech.

-10

u/fartinvestigator 1d ago

Wears a shirt. What a hero. Give me a break. This is coming from a Canadian BTW. Kick rocks Mikey eh.

-14

u/Piercegirl23 1d ago

Yikes. So performative! Can he even define what facism is?  Why doesn’t he give up his millions to fight the power? These rich people suck.

2

u/lupin43 1d ago

He can spell it, so that already puts him a step ahead of a number of people in this thread

1

u/quelar 1d ago

He's Canadian so he's properly educated, so yes he can define facism.

Can you? Do you know that's what's happening in the US right now, or are you going to say a bunch of other nonsense that proves you don't know what you're takling about?

-3

u/The_Dented 1d ago

Oh how the irony is lost…
