graphite I like to draw on Post-it Notes.
These are some WiP pencil sketches I did in the last year, newest to oldest.

Nice! These are great! It’s great for thumbnailing. I have a habit of drawing on flashcards lol.
11
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Much appreciated, and they are great for that. They're just so easy to carry around, and it's just fun to draw in a smaller space sometimes lol
I'll have to give flashcards a try soon!

Thank you! I love sharing my art, but more than that I love the thought that my drawings could connect enough with someone to make them happy, even if just a little :)

So good! I just drew last night for the first time in a while and it felt really satisfying.

These are so fun! 8 is definitely my favourite for some reason lol
2
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Thank you, I always try to have fun with it. I was definitely feeling some type of way when I drew that 8th guy, though... 😆

u/AsVividAsItTrulyIs Feb 27 '26
These are so cool!
The happy dog picture appearing after all the angry teeth made me laugh
3
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Lol yeah, I definitely have tendency to draw monsters and dinosaurs, so I have to be pretty deliberate when it comes to drawings like the happy dog. (His name is Roan btw 🐶)

u/Ecstatic_Self_9580 Feb 27 '26
The dog one is my favorite my dog is my bestest friend! I really enjoyed looking at all of them tho! Awesome awesome job!

I’m getting some nostalgic 1990s toy art vibes
2
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
I can 100% see that. I grew up in the 90s, so I wouldn't be surprised if things like that are a subconscious influence
2
u/CorrectStrawberry422 Mar 04 '26
I found a box full of “gross” 90’s toys at a garage sale. They had these old horror pogs. You look like you’d be an artist for them!! You’d be a great artist for like reboot toy packaging

u/Alarming_Struggle_25 Feb 27 '26
At first I thought these were practice tattoo skins! Cool. Maybe something to consider!

So cool. Nice drawings. The last one reminds me of TROGDOOR, The BURNINATOR but HiDef

u/Grouchy_Ice_193 Feb 27 '26
God i wish i could draw like you 🥹
3
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Aw, I really appreciate that, but if you like drawing, all you need to do is practice. Keep doing it and lean into your strengths while addressing your weaknesses on the side, but most of all, draw like YOU! Comparison is the thief of joy. Take inspiration from others, but only strive to be better than your past self with each new drawing. Keep up like that, and I think you'll find you'll surprise yourself!

So cool. I‘d love if you’d stick all of them on a canvas for a Giant Art piece

u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Ooh, I actually end up coloring a lot of these, and I hope to have enough to make a big mosaic piece one day!

animators use post-it notes to create storyboards. Storyboard artists are a real career.

These are great. I especially like dragon number 3, he looks like a dude.
I like to draw on little bits of paper when I'm at work. It's fun.
2
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Thanks! I actually first picked up drawing on sticky notes while bored at my last job, myself, and now I can't stop.
2
u/Lavenderrrue Feb 27 '26
The constraint of a Post-it forces you to be so intentional with every mark and it really shows in these. The level of detail you're getting on that tiny surface is impressive. Looking at the progression from oldest to newest you can clearly see the improvement in confidence and line work. What pencil grade are you usually reaching for? The shading on some of these is really smooth and controlled.
1
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
This is very true! I draw on these so much, that going back to normal copy paper or some other larger surface feels very freeing, haha. All of these were drawn with a standard number 2 pencil, so grade HB. I appreciate your detailed response and perspective!
2
u/Wise_Material_1208 Feb 27 '26
You are a FANTASTIC tiny art artist! These are SO well-drawn! 😲😃😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That's actually a great idea! Reminds of me in high school not being able to pay attention to class and drawing on whatever piece of paper I could find.

While they are all great, i love the pumpkin one especially. So awesome

u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Thank you! I drew him last October. So fun to work on, but I still need to color him 🎃
2
u/NeVsLeHcIm Feb 27 '26
my dude loves teeth. great drawings!
2
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Guilty lol. You can tell a lot about a character from their teeth, and they almost always add to the expression 😁 Thanks!

You should stick them on people’s cars in parking lots with your socials info! I would be stoked to get a cute piece of art after surviving Walmart

u/Katybug194 Feb 27 '26
I love how illustrative your art is! I can see the personalities in your sketches!

u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26

u/Shannonluv3 Feb 27 '26
Curious, do you like drawing teeth? It was like the center point for most of the drawings, wondered if it was purposeful. I love the t-rex the most and the long-jaw goblin lol
2
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26
Thanks, and great question! Most of these start off as just exercise with no concrete vision for the finished sketch. As such, I tend to start with the eyes and/or mouth since they inform the rest of the expression, and then I build from there. I like adding details and flourishes that add character and personality, and teeth are an excellent vehicle for that due to their versatility. I've been getting better at drawing them lately, and it's been fun leaning in to trying different things with each new drawing.
So yes, I like drawing teeth lol 😁

u/Shannonluv3 Feb 27 '26
Very cool! Sorry if my comment came off rude. Your drawings are very fun and I like hearing the process :)

Ai could never recreate this level of skill and creativity. Keep going, your art is awesome!

Given the current state of art, and the push towards AI, this is the most encouraging compliment I could receive. Thank you so much, truly 😭🫶

I don’t mean to come off rude or accusatory at all so please forgive me, I’m only trying to understand and clarify
but elements in some of these photographs indicate use of AI
I was wondering what you use to prop up your post-it note in image 6 and similar images?
Thank you for understanding :)

I’m excited to see more of your work in the future! 🥰✨

u/post_note_clarity Mar 01 '26
No sweat! It's hard to know for sure these days with how prevalent and deceptive AI can be, and I can respect a healthy degree of skepticism. I genuinely take pride in being a traditional, self taught artist, and I hope others can see and appreciate the effort it takes to do it for real 😁

u/ecstra-thiccness Mar 01 '26

I must say you are such a refreshing person to interact with 💖 I hope you have the most amazing life and are always surrounded with love and inspiration for your amazing artworks!

u/angel_nrg Feb 27 '26
Okay sooo why haven’t you made a comic series yet
1
u/post_note_clarity Feb 27 '26
Lack of free time and energy... lol 😅
Honestly I have some fun ideas, but I struggle to even keep a steady pace with just making sticky note drawings between work and life.
I appreciate the gas though, maybe one day I'll figure out a rhythm!
