Random Scrape after getting car detailed - Need 360 Cam!
I literally got my car detailed YESTERDAY and I only went to three places; my parking lot after I collected the car, my church today, then walmart today.
I walked past my car from behind twice and never noticed this at my parking lot or church (knowing that I showed someone the car after and was talking about some spots that I felt could have been done better).
Yet after stopping at Walmart and B&BW (same parking lot), that’s when I noticed the scrape. The detailers photo and video also doesn’t show this on there.
Now I have to get a camera that watches my car 24/7. And I’m going to ask Walmart for the video as well 🙄 This is what CGPT suggested:
- Vantrue E360 Plus
- BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 5
- Vantrue E360-compatible 3-wire ACC hardwire kit
- High-endurance microSD card of the appropriate capacity
I’m not mad but annoyed because I JUST got this detailed to start “girlying” up my car since this is my first car since I started driving this year and now this ugly scratch.
Does the suggestion CGPT gave, sensible? The powercell is so it’s not dependent on the battery after shut off.
Edit: Car is a 2012 Toyota Rav4 Limited

Where exactly do you think you can mount a 360 cam to cover the whole vehicle?
Like a disco ball in the center? You're going to have blind spots everywhere.
You can get a Thinkware system that uses external cams, which you can install under the sideview mirrors if you don't have auto folding mirrors.
You can go poverty spec and just use a parking more dual cam setup but t won't cover the sides as well. Keep in mind some cameras have wider angle lenses than others.
I went full cooker on mine. I have 2 shit cams on the sides with a battery backup that charges off the accesories. So I have parking mode fornt and back off the main car battery, then a backup battery to power the side cams for 24 hours. I hope to never leave my car in public for more than 24 hours.

As a preventative measure you can do some things like backing your car into a space that is blocked on 2 sides, side+back. That leaves only one side for someone to park. Then having the car reversed in the dashcam will capture them approaching and leaving clearly.
A nice bonus would be to be parked in front of a camera but most bulk parking lots don't seem to have cameras where I'm from.

Something tells me this is neither a dashcam, nor a video of any kind.
But I have been known to be wrong.
