Troubleshooting Mic Input Not Working on Acer 516 GE

Hey guys, my mic input hasn't been working since 09/29 and I'm uncertain if it's due to me updating my laptop. The Chrome Version is 155.0.8059.18 (Official Build) beta (64-bit), and I've tried fixing it through quick-permissions, hard resetting, etc.

Is there anyone else dealing with this and/or possible ways to solve this? Or should I just wait for an update?

I have the same issue on my Acer Spin 714 (i7 CPU) on beta channel. But I have discovered a solution.

It seems some bug prevents the internal microphone from working at the same time when the internal speakers are selected for audio output. In my case I use an external monitor on my desk, so I can solve the problem by selecting audio output to use the monitor speakers.

You could also use Bluetooth headphones or maybe a wired USB speaker (if you have one) to solve the issue.

But please report the issue to Google using the "exclamation button" in the top right corner of the bottom right menu. That way Google will know that multiple people are seeing this very significant regression, and prioritize fixing it sooner
