Circassian genocide commemoration date
Dear friends, today, May 21, is the day of the Adyghe genocide and the day of remembrance of the fallen in the war for the freedom of Circassia. Mass marches are taking place in Israel, Turkey, Great Britain, California, Canada, Jordan - wherever there is a large Adyghe diaspora, there are also single pickets in cities around the world. Guess the first time where Circassians cannot freely and massively take to the streets on horseback, in costumes, with flags, along the central streets, as it happens everywhere? That's right - in your homeland! In his own Circassia. In Nalchik, the capital of modern Adygea and Kabarda, they are allowed to walk on the sidewalk (curb), but not on the street.
Why do Circassians organize mass marches? This is a manifesto of life: we are alive, we are here, we have preserved the language, the Habze (tradition, code of honor), the memory of our ancestors, music, costumes, dances, folklore, we are here and we continue to grow, develop and enjoy life! It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of Circassians to the life of Turkey, Jordan and Israel, and in the homeland of Circassians only 10% of the total number.
Russians, Ukrainians, Armenians, Jews, Greeks, Uzbeks living in the Krasnodar Territory - in Tuapse, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Sochi, live peacefully, but remember that all these are the lands of Circassia, and today they come out to remind themselves and declare: we are here! Adyge way!!!

Discussion "From the Caucasus to the Indus Valley: Is the Tanoli Tribe's heartland a 'cloned' version of ancient Shirvan in Russian Federation?"
The "SHERWAN";
The word Sherwan is a heavy one with deep Perso-Kurdish roots.
Linguistic Origin, Persian & Kurdish.
The name is primarily derived from the Persian word "Shir" (شير), which means Lion.
The Suffix wan/wa'an In Kurdish and Persian, "wan/wa'an" is a suffix denoting "belonging to, guardian of, or place of."
The MeaningTaken together, Sherwan (or Shirwan) translates to "Land of Lions, Place of Lions, or Guardian of the Lions".
Historical & Regional Links;
The Caucasus Connection: The word is historically linked to the Shirvan, A massive historical region in Azerbaijan/Russia, ruled by the Shirvanshahs in present-day South Causcas. This region was once part of the Persian Empire and ruled by the Shirvanshahs, a Persianized dynasty.
The "Sherwani" Garment, The famous Sherwani dress worn by South Asian nobility is plausibly named after the Shirvan/Sherwan region because of the Traditional/folk dress (Chokha) from that area/Region.
Alternative Persian Interpretation, Some linguistic scholars link it to "Shahrbān" (Governor) or a derivative of "Anushirvan", the famous Sassanid King.
The "DARBAND";
The word Darband (Persian: دربند) means "Closed Gateway" or maybe "Barred Door."
The Caucasus Darband is the famous Derbent/Darband in Dagestan, Russia—the oldest city in Russia and a legendary fortress that guarded the "Caspian Gates."
The MULK-E-TANOL(Tribal Territory in the Indus Valley South Asia) Darband and Sherwan, Ancestors of Tanolis maybe named their seat Darband because it served the exact same strategic purpose and it was also the Major Trade hub of the Entire Hazara Region it was the gateway that guarded the Indus and the entrance to the Sherwan Range Although Sherwan Range was also the Capital of Timurid/Karlugh Turks before the Arrival of Tanolis. It's highly plausible with ARCHAEOGENETICS and the Traditional Historical Records of this Tribe which confirm it's Founding Forefather's Y DNA Haplo Group migrated path "Caucasus / Western Iran -> Eastern Iran / Afghan highlands -> Hindu Kush / Ghazni/Swat and Buner -> Himalayas/MULK-E-TANOL/Lower Hazara Region(Indus Valley).
The Link, The Forefathers of Tanolis didn't just pick a name; they replicated a Strategic Sovereignty they had known for centuries it's not about superiority it's about the FACTS.

Travel Some people think that Baku city meet apartment buildings when it was becoming Azerbaijan Soviet Republic
galleryHowever, the city of Baku, and indeed all the surrounding countries, boasts countless buildings constructed between 1850 and 1920's by architects who immigrated from Europe (Poland, Italy, Germany, Sweden, and others), as well as by wealthy European merchant and messianic families who settled in the city. Some were once mansions, some offices, some theaters. Even the Nobel brothers owned buildings, and their wealth came from Azerbaijan. Baku's architecture generally consists of five periods:
Ancient
Post-Islamic Middle Ages
Post-Industrial Revolution European style
Azerbaijan Soviet Republic period
Modern from 1991 to the present

Going crazy looking for a manga/comic I once saw that took place in Georgia/Caucasus
I am going crazy trying to find a comic/manga I stumbled upon more than a year ago, possibly on reddit. I can even pinpoint the day I saw it being sometime around 23-26 August 2024 based on other events in my personal life. It was set in 16th-17th century Georgia or just generally the Caucasus. Therefore, I may have seen it here or on r/Sakartvelo
The details I remember about it very vividly are as follows:
- It was in English/English translation.
- It was possibly completely in colour.
- The whole chapter took place in a village/town.
- The protagonist was a blonde guy in a chokha.
- The plot started with either the protag arriving in town and being invited to a local woman’s house or waking up at the house.
- They sit down for lunch, and I remember a panel showing some classic Georgian dishes (khinkali, khachapuri, etc.) I specifically remember this being funny as some of the dishes are not what people would eat every day, especially a commoner in those times.
- Next, some invaders arrive in the village, and the protag goes out to defend the people. In the battle he gets cut into pieces and it’s revealed that he has a superpower where he can reassemble his body, I think by manipulating his own blood.
When looking for this you may quickly find a manga called "Kagitsuki no Alter". This was a very obscure manga that ran between 2017-2018 and has only 11 chapters. There are many similarities as it also takes place in Georgia and the protags look similar. However, I have read all 11 chapters of that manga, and the scenes I vividly remember are NOT in it. There was no panel with Georgian food and the protag from that manga has no superpowers. There are also no existing English scanlations of this manga and it is entirely in black and white.
It is possible I read some kind pilot of Kagitsuki no Alter or the sequel subtitle “Outside”. However, due to many of the details I vividly recall not being present, I am highly convinced what I saw was another work. It’s also possible that I am conflating different works together I may have read around the same time.
I have already tried searching on Google, manga databases, sites like Webtoons.com and through relevant subreddits for posts around the dates I originally saw it, but there is seemingly no trace of it. I feel like I am going crazy looking for it now. Does anyone have any idea what this is, if you have come across it too or have seen anything similar?
