The lady would have gotten more time if she'd gotten that termination where I live....

I guess we know how to get around abortion bans now.

“She had an abortion!? Hell no! To the electric chair with her! Babykiller!!!! Wait…what’s that? She was just the victim of some domestic violence? Oh never mind, boys will be boys I guess. Slap on the wrist for him.”

It's scary in general to be anything but a cis white man over here. I was too scared of ice to even go vote last time. They're rounding up people who look like me and IDK what they're doing with all of them...

Yes but under patriarchy it's fine when men decide what happens to women's bodies :(

The doctor was sentenced to 6 months in a correctional facility after pleading no contest to four felony charges:

• Disrupting public services

• Unlawful distribution of an abortion-inducing drug

• Identity fraud

• Deception to obtain a dangerous drug

According to the article, he "used his estranged wife’s personal information to obtain mifepristone and misoprostol from an out-of-state telemedicine provider."

So none of the sentences were related to the actual heinous crime. Was he even originally charged for anything?

I'm thinking the "Unlawful distribution of an abortion-inducing drug" refers to him allegedly putting crushed abortion drugs in his girlfriend's mouth.

Sure, but that’s a lame-ass generic charge that makes it sound like a dope deal on a corner and does not address the malice and violence of the action. I say violence because what else would you call non consensually forcing your will on someone?

But I betcha the law only exists in the first place as a TRAP law targeting abortion providers. Prior to the repeal of Roe v Wade Ohio already had some pretty restrictive laws in some regards (eg: ban on telemedicine providing abortion care, parental consent mandate etc).

It's murder to have an abortion, unless a man forces it on you ig

How much prison time did his girlfriend get? Life? ...or was she (gulp) sent to Tennessee?

If she got an abortion she would get years, he forced an abortion on her and only for 6 months. Riiiiight

I’m gonna save this story. There’s a lot of bullshit sentencing going around and I like to keep things on hand to compare.

The drunk lady cop who broke into a man’s apartment and shot him to death while he ate ice cream on his couch got 10 years, but I read somewhere she’ll be out in 7.

Karmelo Anthony. Not here to debate it. Just saying. 35 years.

This guy. 6 months.

So they are talking about the death penalty or murder 1 charges for women terminating a pregnancy and this guy drugging another person and forcing the end of a pregnancy gets a slap on the wrist?

I hate this timeline so much.

Yeah men are totally fine

So I guess when it’s a man who terminates a pregnancy it’s a slap on the wrist but when a woman terminates her pregnancy it’s the death penalty.

Guy was a doctor with a wife and child. Decided to have a mistress. Mistress decided she wanted to keep the baby. Nobody's wins in this story but, boy oh boy, did that idiot guy fuck himself good.

It's like the assistant coach at UM. Great job, beautiful wife, family. Decides he wants to fuck his young white assistant. Lost it all.

Sometimes you have to be satisfied with what you have.
