I got to talk to her a little when I picked up my gf at the airport. Amber is such a sweet, kind, beautiful person.

In the book "Into Every Generation a Slayer is Born" Amber Benson mentions a conflict with an unnamed person in Chapter 9:
“I had had some issues with somebody on the show, and it had kind of come to a head as I was getting ready to leave. Leaving the show was sad because there are some of the crew and the writers and some of the cast that I just adore, but I had made my peace with that person and the show and I was done: ‘I’m leaving everything in a good place. I don’t need to come back.’"
I don't think it was Joss Whedon as she's pretty open about issues with him in the book. Whoever it is, I will still love Amber Benson. Does anyone have the scoop
- Feel free to DM me if you don't want to share it publicly. I am genuinely curious and promise not to post it on the sub.
Edit: AB didn't choose to leave the series. It was Joss Whedon's idea to kill her off. Aftwards, he wanted to revive Tara for season 7. She gave other reasons for not coming back too.

I think Tara might just be one of my favorite sleeper Buffy characters. There's just something about her.. she just has this warmth! And it shows all over her face when she's giddy or with Willow \ (•◡•) /

Tara is my all time favorite character but I can’t help but see that she doesn’t get the love she deserves. So, to spread some Tara love, let’s talk about her best scenes!!
What is one of your favorite Tara moments?
Mine has to be her song in Once More With feeling! Amber Benson has such a beautiful voice and Tara’s moments with Willow during the song are so special. I have so many other favorite scenes of hers though!!
EDIT: I love so many of y'all's comments here but there are some that genuinely scare me. I feel a big part of the hatred she gets is lesbophobia and misogyny. Too many people said their favorite moment is when she died and as a person who heavily relates to her, I’m deeply disappointed and saddened by humanity.

Not only was she perfect for Willow but she was also really caring and supportive of Buffy, and she also brought so much wholesomeness to the rest of the Scoobies.

When I was younger, I found Tara deeply boring and one-dimensional. Her character didn’t inspire me at all. Rewatching the series at 35, I realize she’s just the best human in the Scooby Gang. What a waste !
I just finished episode 13 of season 6 of Buffy, and I absolutely loved the scene between Tara and Buffy at the end. It feels like I rediscovered her, and I found that scene so touching and realistic. I wish Tara and Buffy had more scenes together, because I feel like Tara was really good for Buffy.
Tara did some research without telling anyone to reassure Buffy about the fact that she came back from Heaven changed. When she tells her, Buffy feels comfortable enough to confess about Spike, and Tara welcomes her without judgment. Just pure listening, sensitivity, and validation. Wow.

They were all so lovely! I got an autograph from Amber, she wrote “To Jay, I’m under your spell! Tara” I spoke to Amber and she was the sweetest, I can’t believe I met them today I’m like “omg!! I MET THEM TODAY?!” Like how?! I’m so grateful I got to meet them!<3

Today I threw on The Crush, I enjoy Alicia Silverstone so even though it sounded .. kinda gross .. what do I have to lose?
Not even 10 minutes in and a baby Amber Benson appears.
Even if it’s a bad movie I am happy to see her in it!

Many years ago (ok, 25) I met Amber at one of the Buffy Posting Board Parties. Great fun and she was so nice. This weekend she is in town for the Twin Cities Con and I met her again and wore the same outfit to recreate the old photo. She was very surprised and loved to do it.
Amber is one of the nicest Buffy cast members you will ever meet. Thanks!

Here's a question and I'm genuinely asking this isn't an opinion
Did Tara leave willow because of Tabula Rasa or mainly because she was getting too obsessed with magic.
The reason I ask is if Tabula Rasa then consider Tara put a spell on the gang that blinded them to demons in Family which could have gotten them hurt or killed.
I'll be honest it's been a while since I've seen the later seasons so they might explain it, just wondering people's perspective.
Also Tara is my 2nd favorite character in Buffy except for Giles.

This is an odd question I know
I think they're greenish blue but I'm not sure, in some scenes they look brownish

So, it isn’t that I minded Tara’s character, but I felt like Amber Benson was literally one of the worst actors on the show and I just couldn’t get over it. Everyone seems to absolutely adore Tara and I feel so alone 😂 I absolutely CRINGE when she says “Do what makes you… h-h-happy” with that stutter. I tried to reconcile my unpopular opinion by saying, okay, Tara is supposed to be awkward… but after watching and rewatching a dozen or so times I still am not buying it.
Okay, I feel better now that I’ve been brave and said my peace. Phew.

I was scrolling through stuff last night when this popped up. Thought people here might appreciate it.
This is a repost, first was deleted because of tictock filters (?)

Clearly my own opinion here- I’m not sure if it was the actress or the character of Tara. The character was a nice person with good motivations but I just found her unbelievably annoying. I always got pulled away from the Sunnyvale world, as I was so aware she was “acting”. I found it grating. She only had like 1-2 good moments (IMO).
Her singing was not for me. I always skipped her song.
Thoughts?
