Angel Why does Angel have more chemistry with Spike than with Buffy?

In other words, the two of them are basically like cats and dogs; yet—judging by forum comments—people seem to prefer that pairing over Buffy and Angel. Please, it’s just a question—don’t get mad.

Angel David Boreanaz comment on post about Buffy

Post image

This is curious, specially the post being about the sequel's cancellation, is he not usually pretty disengaged in Buffy conversations? Someone also said him and Chloe Zhao were following each other there, but could just be cordiality, I didn't think he would join it.

Angel Hot Take (?) : I truly couldn't care less about the age gap thing between Angel and Buffy

Outside of the stalking thing at the end of season 2 that did not age well, it's a vampire story.... I'm not going to read that much into it. So many "fans" of the show that tries to find issues so bad will point the age thing and most of the time they are Spuffy fans which is very hypocritical because one of the selling point/most talked about aspect of their relationship is the fact that Spike was always in some ways attracted to her, which included her high school year since he met her when she was in Junior High and was 16 but they wouldn't dare to talk about that, he's the "better option". I love both relationship (I'm leaning more towards Spuffy myself but the hypocritical double standards gotta go, and it's including the whole "He loved her without a soul btw", the context in which he even begun to developp feelings for her are completely different from Angel's mind you, it's kind of annoying in this fandom, considering how complex the show and they love to downplaying for the sake of finding issues) Also, not to be that guy or defend Joss Whedon but if you do some diggings, this man had nothing (or not much) with the infamous scene. It was a female writer who wrote that scene drawing from her own experiences and also, yes, Spike was a monster. A loving one but one nonethless.

Angel Christina Applegate shares how ex David Boreanaz helped her leave abusive boyfriend

I just finished Applegate's memoir (so good - heartbreaking, really), and the anecdote about Boreanaz was heart-warming at a time when you cringe to read about your favorite stars, worried about what the past might reveal. I'm sure everyone will come out now to tell me how problematic DB is but whatever. I'm glad he was there for her, and honestly kind of surprised that at that age he was a stand-up guy (I guess I expect hot young 20-something men to try to be inappropriate). thoughts?

Why did hair and makeup do Cordelia so dirty in S2-S3 of Angel? The choppy bob, the chunky skunk highlights…. I just can’t.

Angel Does this scene mean that Angel did the right thing?

In other words, Angel left so Buffy could have a normal life, a normal relationship. And in this scene, Buffy tells Angel how happy she is with Riley; I know she was furious about the whole Faith thing. But does this scene prove that Angel did the right thing by leaving?

Angel I think David Boreanaz is the most successful BTVS cast member. Every show he did after Buffy had long runs, and in terms of longevity, no one comes close. Only Sarah Michelle Gellar comes close, but she hasn’t been truly mainstream since around 2005. Angel: 5, Bones: 12, Seal Team: 7 Seasons.

Angel For people who are not planning on watching Angel - What about it makes you uninterested/not want to watch it? And for people who watched it, but ultimately did not enjoy it - What did you not like about it?

Angel Angel is just as boring if not more than Riley in the first three seasons of Buffy

I never understood Bangel fans calling Riley boring because imo Angel isn't that much more interesting during his time on Buffy.

Yes Angel has a much richer background with Angelus, Darla, Drusilla and the curse. But a lot of what makes him interesting gets explored on his own show. On Buffy he's mostly the mysterious guy who gives Buffy information, makes out with her or is someone she has to worry about.

Angelus is obviously great, but that's also when Angel isn't Angel.

I think him trying to help Faith in "Consequences" is one of the first times Angel himself becomes interesting. He understands what it's like to do horrible things and have to live with them, which basically becomes the premise of his spinoff.

I'm not saying Riley is some amazing character either. I just always thought him being the All-American guy was kind of the point. He was supposed to be the anti-Angel. Normal, dependable and someone Buffy could have a relationship with without all the supernatural drama. I just don't think Marc Blucas played that type of character particularly well.

I don't hate Riley and I'm not saying Buffy should've ended up with him. I'm Team Cookie Dough Buffy.

I just think Angel benefited massively from getting his own show and developing an identity outside of being Buffy's boyfriend. Riley never got that opportunity.

Angel Is Angel worth a watch?

Hi all! First time Buffy watched on 7x01, so I'm sad that I'm nearly finished it cause I enjoyed it so much 😭

Anyways, I'm looking for something to watch for when I'm finished Buffy, and I'm thinking about watching Angel. I've seen very good opinions about it online, but is it worth the watch?

Thank you if anyone sees this!

Angel Connor

I am trying REALLY HARD to like Angel the Series but Connor feels like a bridge too far. First, the circumstances of his birth, then the time jump for him, then CORDY!? I feel like I am wasting my time until Spike shows up.

Angel Am I missing out if I don't watch Angel?

I'm in the middle of my third Buffy rewatch currently, I love it! It feels really good to watch. Thing is, I cannot stand Angel. I think he is mad annoying. I can't stand his dumb pouty face and the way he whisper whines "Buffy".

That said, Am I doing myself a disservice as a buffyverse appreciator? Is it possible for me to like this show?

Edit: Y'all have convinced me. I will start watching Angel when I get to that part of Buffy in my rewatch. 🫡
