I wasn’t expecting my books to get here on my actual birthday, but I’m not complaining!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement for the 2022 metal shelf slayer bookmark? Mine just fell out of my book on my way home today and I’m so sad! Sure, I can use a paper bookmark, but the shelf slayer was a perfect weight, shape, and size that I would tuck it into my hair for safekeeping while I read. I haven’t been able to find anything close enough in my searching yet.

I really would like it to be that double prong style to hold pages and the metal was wonderful!

As a longtime subscriber, I’ve loved seeing all the cats in blue boxes posts. I recently rescued two sibling kittens who were more than thrilled for blue box fun! Meet Crackle and Pop! They were recently spayed & neutered, hence the fruit Elizabethan collars I got them for added comfort ☺️

I've read alot of books this year but also got behind on my TBR. I finally read and finished The Burning Side. Superb!! 🔥

Mad Mabel, and Meet Me in the Garden were already my top out of alot. But The Burning Side is definitely up there. And if I had to narrow it to 2, I'd say it and Mad Mabel are my favorite reads of the year so far. Highly recommend reading them and getting them if you haven't yet.

To follow up on my last post, since they haven’t had more than two picks for any given decade (and skipped the thirties entirely), here are possible choices for cover colors (I still can’t find lists of BotM 90s choices, please link if you know anything!):

Red - The Red Tent, All the Pretty Horses, The Virgin Suicides (pale pink?)

Purple - The Hours, Possession, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

Brown - Into the Wild, Chocolat

Grey - Angela’s Ashes, The Shipping News, White Oleander (bright white?)

Gold - The Kitchen God’s Wife or Joy Luck Club

Someone else will need to do the thirties in case they’re out of order, I’ve suddenly got a new reading list to work on…
