That’s exactly what I texted to my buddy who got me into it. The slow burn leading up to Chourio’s at bat had me shaking I was so nervous. I can imagine the heartbreak when it goes the other way but my god, absolute magic when players make it happen

Brewers have had plenty of that the last ten years or so, hopefully your first season as a fan doesn't get it lmao...

Haha I hope so too, but I’ve been a Packers fan for almost 20 years so I know playoff heartbreak all too well. Just not baseball’s unique version of it lol

Even better when that player is the guy everyone expects to come through in the clutch. The stadium was ROCKING when he walked up to the plate

100%. He is just so good in these clutch situations and idk how. He was 0-3 on the night but I had so much confidence that he could make it happen as long as he got a chance

Honestly I was just hoping Miller would dirt one and yeli could sneak across. Obviously wanted more, but would have taken that in the moment all things considered.

I was definitely hoping for that since he seemed to have lost some of his control. But I thought if Chourio could get up he can always make some magic happen

That was so special man. I am so happy.

I'll do you one better: the unlikeliest hero having the biggest hit of their life at just the right time.

Example: good friend of the Braves Francisco Cabrera.

I was on the other end of this. The whole inning I told my buddy :I dont feel good about this…”. It happened in slow motion and I knew the ending. After last night, it wasnt a surprise. Padres gonna have some BS happen and are not going to win. It’s just a matter of how exactly. That is my base assumption going into the playoffs - pessimism. It does help guard against the truly terrible feelings. We lose in the most Padre ways.

I know that feeling all too well. Idk if you follow football at all, but I’m a Packers fan and our current era has a really bad record of blowing big leads. And I get that same exact “I don’t feel good about this” feeling so i know exactly what you mean.

And the baseline is formed by a grueling 162 game season, just no way to replicate the stakes
