We're so cursed.

u/Cobruh Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

Roof was open too. Just bad luck I guess.

48

u/Apocalympdick MLB Pride • Rome Emperors 5h ago

If this goes to game 5 you guys should absolutely close the roof for the psychological edge.

3

u/HasaDiga_Eebowai San Diego Padres 4h ago

Brewers have a higher win % with roof open

5

u/kami232 San Diego Padres 4h ago

I'm only annoyed about the roof because there were 4 possible outcomes: it's a homer, it hooks foul, its backspin kills it and it's a flyout at the track, or it hits the fucking ceiling and dies like our chances currently are dying.

Brewers got the charmed outcome, and you want to twist that knife? Ugh.

GG, man. Absolute drama, absolute cinema.

This game was karma for the shit talking and shows ball don't lie

-30

u/FlatTopTonysCanoe Chicago Cubs 5h ago

You guys take this shit way too seriously lol

22

u/mwaFloyd Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

Shut up nerd.

Choosing to quote known post-season choker Pete Armstrong

29

u/ohbarryoh Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

Lol I'll be sure to revisit this when the Cubs play again

-29

u/FlatTopTonysCanoe Chicago Cubs 5h ago

You’ll be waiting a long fucking time for someone to act like karma is somehow connected to hurting your feelings over baseball lol

19

u/evster51 5h ago

Literally what are you talking about lmaooo

1

u/ohbarryoh Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

The fact you're taking that part seriously and not realizing it's shit talking back about all the stuff yesterday is... I was going to say sad but actually it's concerning

1

u/FlatTopTonysCanoe Chicago Cubs 5h ago

Why does my response not count as shit talking back though? I appreciate your concern however.

3

u/ohbarryoh Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

It does? And you got butthurt about it lol

This was terrible coaching.

21

u/kami232 San Diego Padres 5h ago

Should've put Adam in the moment Miller gave up a runner.

2

u/bstone99 San Diego Padres 4h ago

That’s what I was shouting

6

u/twinklytennis Los Angeles Dodgers 5h ago

What did your city do to receive this curse? Curses are meant to be broken.

4

u/kami232 San Diego Padres 5h ago

[Gestures vaguely at our beaches, food, and weather]

I'm assuming that.

Realistically, baseball is just fucking hard. Ugh.

6

u/Ulexes Boston Red Sox 5h ago

The Baseball Gods hate Manny Machado and seek justice for Dustin Pedroia.

4

u/Embarrassed_Sink_541 Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

Fuck Machado. Brewers fan hate him as well.

7

u/Bored_Dad_Scrolling 5h ago

Just once in my life man. 1 ring for the love of god

7

u/sisyphus_of_dishes Milwaukee Brewers 4h ago

I know how you feel

10

u/zmichalo Milwaukee Brewers 5h ago

Cursed vs Cursed, somethings gotta give.

1

u/Incunebulum 1h ago

The Machado Curse, especially in this stadium.

108

u/masterfain Los Angeles Dodgers 5h ago

Just burned millers arm too for a walk off. Rough for the padres.

33

u/improbablywronghere San Francisco Giants 5h ago edited 5h ago

No one can say “let’s pull miller” but I feel like even morejon on one days rest would have been nice there. Or bring in some starter for the 9th. Dude walked 3 in the 9th and nothing was happening in the bullpen at all.

10

u/Monk_Philosophy Los Angeles Dodgers • Athletics 5h ago

Yeah I would have less criticism if they at least had someone warming up but showing that stammen not even considering another option is fucking wild

1

u/bstone99 San Diego Padres 4h ago

I was shocked they didn’t pull him after another walk. Put in Adam. JFC

5

u/TJFLASH1 St. Louis Cardinals 5h ago

They don’t play tomorrow, his arm isn’t burned

6

u/masterfain Los Angeles Dodgers 5h ago

He threw 40 pitches and near the end it was all walks. I’d be shocked if you see miller game 3

7

u/TJFLASH1 St. Louis Cardinals 5h ago

If the Padres have a close game with the lead and it’s late after a day rest I almost guarantee you see him. He’ll be available. This is postseason baseball not the regular season.

Dodgers of all teams should know this with what Yamamoto did last year.

-2

u/masterfain Los Angeles Dodgers 5h ago

Yamamoto is a high usage starter, not even the same comparison. You know I hope they use miller in a close game 3 because the outcome will likely be what happened today.

2

u/TJFLASH1 St. Louis Cardinals 3h ago

Yeah, and Yamamoto was also coming off a lot more pitches. Really don’t think it’s that uncommon for a reliever to come back off 30-40 pitches after a day of rest.

2

u/MilwaukeeMan420 2h ago

He will be available if needed. Doubt you see him for more than 3 outs again

2

u/youre_soaking_in_it Baltimore Orioles 4h ago

In an elimination game? All hands will be on deck except King probably.

1

u/Holdmydicks San Diego Padres 4h ago

He has done this a lot lately, its nothing new. Get the first 2 batters out no problem, then he starts walking guys

1

u/MilwaukeeMan420 2h ago

Out, walk, walk, out, walk, base hit

0

u/evancomposer Milwaukee Brewers 4h ago

I mean they have an off day tomorrow—would he not be available for game 3?

55

u/bob_boo_lala San Diego Padres 5h ago

I'm never going to recover from thie

1

u/TDS_Gluttony San Diego Padres 4h ago

I recovered from 27 straight innings, we still got another ball game to pay at the loudest park in the league. One at a time

32

u/AndABananaCognac San Diego Padres 5h ago

Typical San Diego sports.

14

u/astrothemorkie Houston Astros 5h ago

Still pissed the Chargers left. Fuck Dean Spanos!

-13

u/Ebil_shenanigans Seattle Mariners 5h ago

So they'll move to LA next season?

8

u/kami232 San Diego Padres 5h ago

You sure you want to throw stones from that glass house, Thunder?

6

u/Ebil_shenanigans Seattle Mariners 5h ago

NBA isn't real, it can't hurt me.

4

u/kami232 San Diego Padres 5h ago

Understandable. I'm more of a March Madness guy when it comes to basketball.

3

u/astrothemorkie Houston Astros 5h ago

SDSU had quite the run that one year

2

u/astrothemorkie Houston Astros 5h ago

Oilers for me. San Diego fans deserve an NFL team

14

u/RealPutin Colorado Rockies 5h ago

Average Padres playoff experience

2

u/SnowballWasRight San Diego Padres 5h ago

It’s alright, this is what we all expected deep down.

3

u/Capable-Ad-6058 Los Angeles Dodgers 5h ago

This series is going 5, I don’t see y’all loosing at home. If the roles were reversed the Pads walk this off too.

2

u/ProcessTruster Major League Baseball 5h ago

It turns out that leading the LOB stat in both games was not a recipe for success.

1

u/ItsCaptainKeyboard Baltimore Orioles 5h ago

I was rooting for the Padres this postseason, would be cool to see them win it all. But they are just getting daggers every night rn.
