Who are you all rooting for in the playoffs?
For me it's the Flappy Bois and the White Sox
I got love for our expansion brothers and Murakami and his great personality has got me rooting for the Sox.
On a side note Let's go Braves and Brew Crew.

Projected 2027 arbitration salaries for the Diamondbacks: 4 cases, $18.4M total
I run Front Office Moves, a free site that tracks roster moves and offseason decisions for every club. These are projections from a homegrown model I built for the Diamondbacks' 2027 arbitration class, ahead of the non-tender deadline in late November.
| Player | Pos | Class | Projected | Likely range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lars Nootbaar | LF | Arb 3 | $6.4M | $6.1M to $7.2M |
| Gabriel Moreno | C | Arb 2 | $5.8M | $5.5M to $6.6M |
| Ryne Nelson | SP | Arb 2 | $3.9M | $3.5M to $4.4M |
| Pavin Smith | 1B | Arb 3 | $2.3M | $2.2M to $2.6M |
Total: 4 cases, $18.4M projected.
These use the current CBA's rules. A new deal this winter (a higher minimum, say) would move them.
Who would you non-tender, and who would you try to extend first?

[TJStats] WAR by Team.
Any thoughts on this? It’s interesting to see us at only 18.
Also I would love to see our pitching bWAR, because I know that ERod has way more bWAR (4.8) than fWAR(3.2). But then again, Gallen goes from -0.1 fWAR to -1.7 bWAR, so it probably cancels out.

Is Torey actually a really good manager?
I can’t decide if he coaxed 86 wins out of an 81 win team, or botched a 91 win team with an 86 win record.

Contracts and blackout
For all of you smarter than myself. Tory contract is just two years including a blackout or starts after if we have one? I’m guessing the blackout counts as a year but that’s a guess. If you know, let me know.
Thanks

Financial fair play/salary cap
Long time DBacker in Manchester Uk. Soaking in the absolute implosion of Manchester City.. I support a tier 4 team with no money ever.
HOWEVER!!.. the more that I read into the financials and the way they’ve manipulated the figures BEFORE they’ve had to declare their P&L’s. I can’t believe that the Dodgers aren’t going to get absolutely spanked sometime soon wit their bs contracts. They’re literally manipulating and massaging the same rules/stipulations without being held morally accountable… ideally, all teams voting for a salary cap when the hold out happens will ensure a full audit of all teams… dodgers will be toast

Opinion 2027 Season
Does the collective think we'll see a season next year? If not, then that's that, but what if you think we do? Full season starting on time? Full season starting late? A a condensed season starting late like 2020?
Assuming we get baseball in 2027 and outside of the CBA expiring and that discussion, and also ignoring the GM and Manager discussion, let's talk 2027 free agency.
I think Arizona is going to need at least one outfielder to replace Gurriel. Lawlar showed he can hold down center field and he should be given a good chunk of innings there in 2027 with Arenado still holding down third most of the time. Corbin is locked in playing right field. Ryan Waldschmidt can play in left, but I think a good defender can platoon against righties would be great. Enter, Ian Happ. Good defender, he's a FA in 2027, switch hitter but he's most effective from the left side against righties and he's got pop. His expiring contract was steep, but I don't think he gets 20m AAV again, but maybe he would be too spendy.
First base is also a need unless you want Pavin back again. Don't hate me for this, but a one year platoon of two first basemen, one lefty and one righty. Nathaniel Lowe, and the emotional pick, Paul Goldschmidt. Both with still plenty of pop in their sticks and would be relatively inexpensive, leaving money for pitching.
Hopefully with healthy arms from Martinez and Burnes, combined with the much improved bullpen, maybe not much is needed here. I'd like to see a pursuit of Adrian Morejon to slot into the bullpen. Been great with SD the last couple seasons, so he wouldn't be inexpensive, but shouldn't be a bank breaker either.
Maybe another starter is needed, but maybe not. Pffadt and Rodriguez were great this season. A healthy Burnes will help in 2027. Kelly has one year left, and Ryne should be healthy again too. Couldn't hurt to look at Gilbert, Peralta, or Alcantera though. Unfortunately, King and Skubal will end up on teams with deeper wallets.
There's definitely some other moves to be made, including extending Moreno and trying to find some pop to get the offense back into gear. McCann is likely gone, so ADC probably becomes the primary backup, and a few more bullpen pieces to sure that up, but it's late and my brain no workey much more.
