What ITP places are best equipped with space, people, and beer to have a group show up spontaneously? Say 20 people or so.

I ask because I want to have a beer thing to celebrate a birthday, but I can't afford the $500-$2000 some places are quoting me for a "private event space", so I'm thinking about just telling people where I'm drinking and having them stop by as they like.

Current lead candidate is BSP.

Open to other celebratory ideas, too.

TIA, r/atlbeer!

Both Monday Night locations have enough space. Round Trip has a big space too.

Round Trip westside has that massive back room, and usually its pretty empty unless there is an event going on.

One of my friends had a birthday party at Inner Voice and it worked out great. They just snagged a table and people were filtering in and out all night.

I’d also assume The Garage would be able to handle that crowd ezpz.

Bold Monk works well, so many spaces and a bar for non- beer folks.

Monday night both garage and grove. Round trip west midtown. Spectre. Three taverns Imaginarium (they’ve got ample outdoor space but indoor would be tight for 20+). New realm (OK beer IMO but lots of space).

Yeah, I’d lean towards just showing up somewhere and grab some tables and have people freely come and go. Recently had a fantasy football draft party with 10 guys at a local brewery, they charged us $100 for the space. We ended up being the only people there on a Thursday night, and it was a complete waste of $100

That's wild they would do that unless it's required. I feel like most places would be happy to see 10 people show up on a Thursday night and be most welcoming.

It was definitely off putting for a place I hold in high regard. Live and learn, not reaching out ahead of time anymore and just showing up. Legitimately the only thing the $100 got us was a “reserved” sign on a table in an almost empty venue. We still had to walk up to the bar to get drinks

Sceptre Brewing has a big indoor and outdoor space, so perfect for a come and go

Reds. You can reserve a space, I believe for free. (You could 2 years ago when I had my 50th). Check their website.
