September 30th: After the war on November 17th, 2020, Onik Gasparyan says that it was on September 30th that the defence committee talked about stopping the war.
Armenian government denies Gasparyan's claims on April 15th, 2021, citing things they talked about that day including parts of secret voice recordings.
Gasparyan then states they are lying.

azerbaijan then uses this for propaganda
Parts of Shushi are shelled, where Harutyunyan found out about this 3 days after it happened, on the 7th, 27 people died
Oct 5: ruben vardanyan calls for putin to step in to stop the war with a video
at this point the war is mostly in the south, Samvel Babayan talks about trying to change this with his own plan, where Colonel General Movses Hakopyan does not agree to it stating "it is non of his business."
Pashinyan goes to Artsakh, where he talks to Arayik and Commanders of the army, talking of a plan for the south, from Babayan's proposal.
Oct 7: Pashinyan had a interview with a russian news agency talking about a military operation on the same day.
Babayan on December 12th, 2020 states that during this operation: "150 azeris walk towards Armenian tanks not knowing they were Armenian, azerbaijan takes 150 loses. Where after the first brigade goes forward and the second brigade stays in this spot and doesn't move. The Commander got a leg injury, he gives his duty to someone else and they don't do the command, etc, etc."
Movses Hakopyan claims because of this operation the Armenian side loses its entire reserve and they did not have enough forces left.
Armenian side in its military daily updates do not talk about the operation, instead saying the enemy tried to move into the south but they took loses and fled from areas around Jabrayil

Oct 14: Lavrov in an interview talks about his famous "lavrov plan"
In an Address to the people, Nikol Pashinyan talks about denying the lavrov plan, and negotiations that took place before the war.
Armenian side pushes how azeris in Hadrut is used for "Propaganda" and how instead of taking that area over they appear in that area, take pictures and videos, and then leave. Artsrun Hovhannisyan also states this.
Russian journalist on Sputnik states how "first diversions that spoke Armenian and wore Armenian military clothes went, then the mobilized forces went in like the special forces, they cleaned up the city and fighting started. There was no point in leaving that many people under fire in the city. At that point the special forces would pull back, the diversions would enter and at that point firing would stop, then special forces would enter again. Azerbaijan had more equipment and firepower, and the city feel into their control."
Oct 16: azeris upload videos from many different parts within the city of Hadrut.
Oct 17: 14 groups including the ARF call for the creation of a special government entity along with the call to arrest current and previous members of the Armenian and Artsakh governments including the PMs, MFAs, and MoDs with the objective of "Protecting the Fatherland."
A second humanitarian ceasefire is signed, this time with the mediation of France. On the same day aliev states that Fizuli and some villages are under their control.
Oct 18: aliev uploads a video that shows azeri troops raising their flag over khudaferin bridge.
azeris also upload videos of Fizuli
Oct 19: negotiations to stop the war with the previous russian plans were being talked about but azerbaijan brought up the topic of refugees, which would make Shushi 95% azeri to which Nikol Pashinyan rejected. Then after more talks, Russia proposed a new plan with the refugees to which Nikol pashinyan agreed but azerbaijan did not. However a new talking point was brought up, the idea of russian peacekeepers in Meghri to connect azerbaijan to Nakhijevan like Lachin connecting Artsakh to Armenia, which is when Nikol Pashinyan rejected.

Oct 25: aliev gives an interview to fox news stating that they are ready for a ceasefire as long as Armenia agrees to their demands before the conflict started including "leaving the occupied areas."
Armenia responds with how they are ready for a resolution within the Ocse Minsk group format but it is azerbaijan who is not agreeing to it.
Armenia and azerbaijan sign a third ceasefire agreement this time with the United States, which was supposed to start on October 26th but was broken by the azeri side only 45 minutes into the ceasefire.

"5 out of the 6 were broken, on the third of the month someone from Moscow to fix them so they can give them to us on the 10th, this is the reality."
Commander Jalal Harutyunyan receives an injury, Mikael Arzumanyan will take his place. At this point Talish, Mataghis, Jabrayil, Fizuli, Hadrut, Qubatlu, Zangelan were already fallen.

November 2: Armenian side shows attacks that are near Shushi, and Qarin Tak.
Videos showing the usage of "white phosphorus" are spread. (which Karen Sargsyan claims is not, instead he says it's the 120mm GRAD's 9m22 muntions which have thermite, and ukraine did not sell any white phosphorus to azerbaijan)
Artsakh defense army states that the enemy is advancing from two positions, which the Armenian side stopped.
November 3-4: Fighting continues in Qarin Tak village, the village fell to the enemy on November 4th. azeris tried to take the village in the morning but Armenians pushed them back. Qarin takci Baghdasar Baghdasaryan said that the army defending the right wing with about 250 people received an order to leave the village. Baghdasaryan tried to stop them from leaving but it didn't work. The Colonel said he would send help, but help never came. The front line had already become one-sided, the left wing was left open which is how azeris entered the village. In the afternoon the 250 people withdrew from the village, leaving only 50 people remaining in the village. The 50 people refused to withdraw with the army. After fighting and being surrounded, at night time the group retreated back to Shushi.
Read their story here: hetq.am/hy/article/131530
ArmGeo Tigran Shahbazyan was there and he also recalled the order to withdraw from the Village, which he said "didn't make sense."
Azeris have also taken the Shushi-Lisagor road
Artsakh defense army announces how the Shushi-Berdzor road is closed for Civilian use as there are azeri soliders within the forests.
Gyorbagyor2020 becomes a thing on the Armenian side

Nov 5: A operation is drawn up to get rid of any enemy force Going to/in Shushi.
Samvel Babayan states: "Shushi is surrounded, The future of Karabakh is on this operation."
The operation was supposed to happen with the presence with 3 groups, the center, the right right and the left wing. The operation was supposed to start on the moring of November 6th.
One of the groups was called "Shahen Meghrian." The commander of the group stated that 2 of the 3 groups did not appear. Samvel Babayan also confirms this. The operation did not take place.
Nov 7: Onik Gasparyan informs Nikol Pashinyan how Shushi has fallen.
Nikol Pashinyan on June 20th, 2023: "In every conversation, meeting, etc, I always said how Shushi was supposed to be held, and I was told and reassured that it would be held."
November 8: Arayik Harutyunyan posts a picture with text on Facebook stating "I watched the sunrise following one of the hardest nights of my life."
On the same day Artsrun Hovhannisyan on TV states "There is fighting happening in and around Shushi."
3 years later in an interview Artsrun talks about November 8th: "I listened and talked to members of Artsakh like the MoD, on the 8th emotional conversations on how was possible to retake Shushi and to clean it up. I also spoke to 3-4 people within the Artsakh army to make sure what I was hearing was right. They all had hope. But sadly on the night of the 8th we were standing in front of a catastrophe that it didn't happen."
Nov 9: azerbaijan shows a video of their flag over shushi.
Vahram Poghosyan (Artsakh spokesperson) states on Facebook that Shushi in its entirety is lost.
2 hours after that Facebook post Nikol Pashinyan writes "Fighting for Shushi continues."
Nikol Pashinyan on June 20th, 2023: "Until the signing of the trilateral agreement, I was told that at least one part of Shushi was under the control of the defense army."
On the night of the 9th, Nikol Pashinyan informed the public about the end of the war.
Nikol Pashinyan on June 20th, 2023: "On the morning of the 9th I signed a trilateral agreement, it turns out that azerbaijan did not sign it, and put forward new demands, in the evening azerbaijan brings forward new proposals, over the day different things were discussed negotiated, different agreements, but at the end of the day it turns out new things were being brought up, this continued, and the document I signed in the morning was no longer valid."
"...but when the Russian side mentioned how the azeri side takes about the exchange of enclaves in the Tavush region, I said I would not sign a document like that. And it turned out we would not be signing a document until a bit later an agreement came to take that point out of the document, around midnight news started to be spread about how in the skies above Stepanakert there were a great number of drones. After constant negotiations I signed the November 9th document that everyone knows about, which was worse than the one I signed in the morning, but better better than any of the other options, which one talked about a "Meghri Corridor" and another talked about the enclaves in Tavush.
Protesters flud the streets of Yerevan and break into the buildings in Hraparak.
There are somethings I most likely missed, like how the Russian peacekeepers flew from russia to Armenia then traveled to Artsakh, the protests Armenians did, the many acts of terrorism azerbaijan did, and there are many stories not mentioned, for that forgive me.

Firstly thank you so much for breaking this down for us. Some of my PTSD came back forsure.
I used to fight all my friends who had conspiracy theories around the war and would call them crazy but rereading every thing makes me wonder if they are correct. Yes I’m sure we had a lot of intelligence failures, yes I’m sure there were traitors, in fact Armenian national security caught a few people… but I’m starting to think a lot of this was deliberate. It’s just the vibe I get after reading this. I’m not saying Nikol is necessarily a traitor, or he’s evil, etc. not at all… but something about all these details just doesn’t add up.

Talk about losing 50% of air defense and 40% firing power in 15-20 min. If that doesn’t scream inside info then what is? 3 sided operation and one side only shows up? Were the other 2 commanders been threatened? I am sure there were some failures but call me delusional if you like, I still strongly believe Artsakhs fate was already sealed way before fightings started.

I think, definitely, there were traitors on many levels. We even heard about low-level losers being paid chump change by azeris to rat out their base locations during the war. Now we know about higher ranking traitors, too.
But I think Nikol being a traitor is completely out of the realm of possibility. Traitors are fucking lazy, primarily. And greedy. Pashinyan is many things, foolish and naive being among them, but I do not think he is a traitor

u/throw-away25 Sep 04 '24
Right, I don't think it's Nikol. I think it's likely that it was the former administrations.

Were you following the Rob Lee’s twitter thread during the war? IMO it was the most accurate accumulation of everything that happened throughout each day.

Living through this was degrading. Reading this and re-living everything makes me sick to my stomach.
Makes me think, did we ever need that piece of land in the first place? How would our fate turn out to be if Vazgen was never killed and Artsakh was recognized as an Armenian land right after they descended from the mountains of Shushi.

This was an incredibly depressing read...

I never bought the July clashes as real. I have no evidence ofc but learning about Azerbaijan the last few years I'm convinced the whole clashes, deaths and even protests were a show. Protests are not really hard to mimic and control where it goes, a group of fake people can easily start a protest and get people join, or in the case of a real people starting protests, agents injecting themselves in and taking the position of a front leader and diverting people wherever they want, has been observed. I believe this was done in Lebanon.
u/lmsoa941 correct me if I'm wrong.
7
u/lmsoa941 Sep 02 '24
I respectfully disagree..
First of all it is interesting to note that both Serzhik and Kochik said that the July clashes caused the war. One said it in Dec after the war, the other a year later.
Which is very obviously used to incite protests imo.
I think the July clashes was not orchestrated, and the protests were definitely not.
Since purchases of TB2 drones came after the protests, seemingly Turkish support stated post July clashes, after Azerbaijani failure on the fronts.
If you remember correctly, news of mercenaries, news of Az confiscating trucks, and military exercises suddenly increased post protests.
The protests were also disbanded in many areas in less than 20 minutes after the police arrived.
‘
Both the Crisis group and the Boll foundation blame the Azeri truck that came close to Armenian position, prompting an Armenian response, to be the cause.
Russia blames Armenia as well.
So now you have 2 pro-Russian Armenian figures, Russia blaming Armenia, while 2 international groups blame it on a mistake, which prompted quick escalation by Armenia (so definitely a mistake on our part)
I think that the Aliyev felt humiliated. The loss of a major general and a colonel are very significant. And there were pictures of destroyed tanks being removed from the border areas. https://www.facebook.com/shushanstepanyan/posts/3062454093790730
Here’s the events according to Wikipedia:
1
At around 1:00, protestors reached Sabail. Protesters were broadcasting the events via Facebook Live. Around 30 thousand people were watching it.[259] At around 1:40, Rapid Police Unit dispersed the crowd, and live-stream was deleted
2
At around 03:20, pro-war protests erupted in Xocəsən,[261] which lasted for 20 minutes until Rapid Police Unit and Internal Troops intervened
3
The demonstrators, who gathered on the first floor of the National Assembly, damaged number of the properties of the Parliament that worths 22,150 AZN in total.[274] Police called on the demonstrators to leave the building and they were evicted from the parliament building.[275] Despite that, some demonstrators started to throw stones at police officers, and injured seven police officers. In addition to that, the demonstrators turned over and damaged two cars owned by State Traffic Police Department, and damaged 14 more state-owned cars
4
rally, President Aliyev targeted the largest opposition party, the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan. He declared that “we need to finish with the ‘fifth column‘“ and the Popular Front is “worse than the Armenians.” Azerbaijani security services began arresting party members and others. According to Azerbaijani sources as many as 120 people are currently held in jail, including some deputy leaders of the party as well as journalists
Aliyev if you remember, also said that “If you are angry you should join the army”, or something along the lines.
On July 13th, he detained his former Defense minister.
He then dismissed his Foreign minister for not being at work on July 16.
Honestly, this bad of a fumble. A true destruction of internal stability in a matter of days.
As well as the death of a major general, and Aliyev going on a spree to take control of everything, might give you this idea of “Aliyev planned everything”. But things could’ve gone too wrong too fast.
Reality imo, is that a fascist country, breads fascist people. Nazi germany didn’t necessarily facilitate all the anti-Semitic protests in Germany. But they sure as hell didn’t stop them.
Trump didn’t necessarily call for an insurrection, but he sure as hell implied.
So a country that is calling Armenians their “Sworn enemy and the devil” etc… are gonna have people that would want to kill the devil as soon as possible/.
The fact that the Grey wolf, and radicalized members of society were up on the street demanding blood. Meant that blood had to be spent.
Since fascist society needs a scapegoat to be martyred/sacrificed to survive.

I do not think that these events were hard to sow together by agents, they can easily by pre planned to make it look more legit. Again I am not saying that is the case, I just am not convinced by the events that took place.
Both the Crisis group and the Boll foundation blame the Azeri truck that came close to Armenian position, prompting an Armenian response, to be the cause.
Russia blames Armenia as well.

I am still not convinced, Russia will ofc blame Armenia, they were in the process of fucking us over. International groups were not there, they will just use available data to draw a conclusion, there wasn't enough time to interview witnesses, even if there was, Azerbaijan is pretty good at this. Destroyed tanks are just destroyed tanks, not much value if you're trying to create a certain plot.
I would say the same for the rest, create chaos, arrest some people, incite morale into people, go to war. Arrests for generals and such, is still in my possible pre planned actions, maybe he needed that guy to die to make the matter bigger, maybe he counted on it?
For me everything was just too perfect, all the chess pieces were in the right places in both shifting geopolitical spheres, as well as in perfect political timing for Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Israel, and utmost perfect for Armenia and US elections, the subject of corridor, the Ukraine war. Every piece in place, only needing to sacrifice one hook to checkmate the whole game.
I realize i'm all over the place with this, I'm just saying it's not too impossible.

pre planned
I personally do not believe in pre-planned and pre-orchestrated “events”. Historically that’s not really plausible.
I do believe that planned operations are used in the benefit of individuals or states.
this in historical analysis we call it “Hindisght Bias” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindsight_bias
There’s also a specific name for it, called Historian’s Fallacy
I mean, tell me, how many events in history have proven to be pre-planned and pre-orchestrated? How do you know that the outcome would have been what it was back then?
Aliyev could not have predicted the future. We think he did because in hindsight everything that happened fit perfectly.
INternational groups were not there
People give less credit to international groups for what they are worth. Yes, some of them have fucked us over by playing bothsideism, more however have been pro-Armenia.more often then not, they are correct in their assessment, and definitely more reliable than the government, the media, and specially twitter.
Create chaos, arrest some people
Do you think Azerbaijan needed that to invade?
They invaded without any issues in 2016, and the people wanted more back then.
1
u/T-nash Sep 02 '24
Again I never claimed to know it all along, i am in the hypothesis stage, questioning it.
I don't know of any historical events because I have not delved into it, otherwise, I am familiar with nagorno karabakh.
Aliyev predicting the future? probably not, but you set a plan and take action and he had so many on his side even when his army lost, others were ready to intervene (to an extent they did).
Let's say the US secretly went all out for Armenia against Azerbaijan, made deals and promises, so Armenia draws out a plan to create chaos, make it look like an accident, blame them, commence and so on. No way we're losing with US assisting us directly (well, very low chance lets say). Look at what Russia is doing with the Kocharyan-Serj-Bagrat guys in collaboration with Azerbaijan, quite successfully I might say. The propaganda did more damage to Nikol than september 2023 itself did.
People give less credit to international groups for what they are worth. Yes, some of them have fucked us over by playing bothsideism, more however have been pro-Armenia.more often then not, they are correct in their assessment, and definitely more reliable than the government, the media, and specially twitter.
And therein lies my distrust.
Do you think Azerbaijan needed that to invade?
They invaded without any issues in 2016, and the people wanted more back then.
technically they didn't, but they still lied about the 2020 war for 2+ years, then finally admitted to it. They still lie about Khojaly all these years later (not the deaths obv, the mutilations), there's always reasons. Maybe in this case it was the fear of losing, so they blame Armenia of starting the war, so losing isn't as bad.

you literally used a child fake crying for a propaganda poster..https://www.facebook.com/ZartonkMedia/videos/azerbaijan-uses-a-child-for-propaganda-purposes/3380915641990712/
You literally had images of an actor claiming he was a mercenary in Armenia. And harassed the man so much he responded…
You also used the famous “Ibrahim” who got “elected by the Armenians”. Who showed us “that the Armenians were welcoming Azeris”, using that poor old Armenian lady, what happened to her? Who was always on the ground as if he was just present during a massive bomb attack https://x.com/iampsiconicgirl/status/1318290215165939712?s=61
he was a soldier, a mayor, and a reporter at the same time. https://greekcitytimes.com/2020/10/08/azerbaijan-fake-news/
Aliyev literally claimed there was 20,000 “Thriving” Armenians in Azerbaijan living….
The same guy who saw the name “Urartu”, on a map in a museum, and asked the people to change it.
And this is without any of the horrific crimes against humanity Against Armenians. The “ecological protests”, which for example, never happened in other regions, but the only place where Azeris don’t live, Azeri students would show up. Nor the fact that your textbooks (Unlike ours) have derogatory and dehumanizing terminology about Armenians. And this is not me saying it…
An Azeri woman literally killed a bird during the eco protest.
You had a museum full of Wax Figures of Armenians, with anti-Semitic and Armenophobic characteristics. And still have the helmets of dead soldiers hanging in the front of the museum
But Yh sure, us believing that was too much. Almost as much as the entire Azerbaijani sub believing that the soldiers who were beheading old men were gonna be prosecuted…
Wow, so weird of us to be fooled by Armenian propaganda. “Couldn’t you just figure it out???”

I think you should add the failed counter attacks, and the failed Armenian operations which are currently being investigated.
One of which we lost many tanks and soldiers.
AS well as adding the Shushi operation. When Azeris successfully intercepted Armenian reinforcements.
