Look what I made! turn on printer from upstairs

Try switching it on electrically. Much less parts.

Nah, it'll be the same, because of MOSFET you'd likely use. And, if you use relay, without a module, it will be even twice as parts

Why using a MOSFET? Just short the power button wires in the GPIO pins.

That's REALLY bad idea. The printer may work in 3.3V and you give it 5V - printer dead. The printer may work in like 9V - boom, your GPIO pin/arduino is dead

I'm saying about the no-MOSFET idea. Yeah, sure, it may work but it will be really bad imho

nice i plan to make it compatible with my app so that anyone building a smartlock no mather which microcontroler can use the app currently in the works of that.

The printer is just like me and really good at taking naps. I built this little device to turn on the printer from a web click. The Arduino connects through my Wi-Fi and checks a file on a remote server every second. I use a simple website to toggle the servo from anywhere. Next up, better form factor :)
