Hand/Feet warmers?

We are traveling to Antarctica in late Nov/early Dec (Lindblad). They don't mention warmers on their packing list, but I've seen it listed as a good thing here. How necessary are they? For comparison we did Svalbard with Lindblad a few years (May) and didn't find it necessary at all.

I’m assuming your doing a cruise since you are saying “we”, but if you’re going through USAP you don’t need any. My workplace probably had 3 dozen boxes of hand and feet warmers.

Lindblad is an expeditionary cruise line.

Generally your gloves with glove liners will be enough to keep your hands warm. Most times on landings I would even have my gloves off just to I can control my camera easier.

It does come down to each person but definitely bring hand warmers in case you need it, and if you don't need them they don't weigh much anyway.

My logic is: I’m bringing it for the person who is CHRONICALLY cold. I think they will enjoy it during zodiac trips.

Are you always freezing to death? I mean, this could help.

Not necessary, especially foot warmers if you bring proper socks (preferably merino wool). Hand warmers can be nice if you are removing the mitten tops of convertible gloves for photography. I don't use in the Arctic, but do in Antarctica.
