McMurdo Dorm room decoration

How do you guys hang stuff on your dorm walls? Tacks? Command strips? Tape?

Thanks!

Most of the wardrobes and doors are magnetic, so that’s a great way to decorate without worrying about tape residue or making holes in walls. I bring some of my own magnets, and they often have some (including magnet hooks for things like string lights) in Lodging (but don’t take too many).

Small tacks are generally okay, and I think command strips should be fine if you’re sure to remove them properly.

They're phasing them out, but I will miss the wooden wardrobes where you could screw anything and everything into them.

I used command strips (brought my own) and push pins (plenty on station). I brought 15 lbs of decorations my first year and if I could do it all over again, I'd bring even more!

Technically you aren’t supposed to like, basically use anything that sticks to the wall. I forget if command strips are even technically allowed

Obviously people use/used them anyway.

I personally didn’t hang anything up on my walls but my roommate did, we had a rug-kinda thing over the ceiling light as well.

Don't use tacks especially in 206, 209 and 305, two of them are freshly renovated and they were being harsh on any kind of damage in the rooms and 305 is brand-new.
