Question battery imbalance - app2
about a year and a half old, left one drains way faster, than it did before. I have the mic set at automatic so it’s not that. What could be causing this? I never listen with one airpod in.

To prevent spams please use this thread for all discussions about the new AirPods 5 preorders. The AirPods 5 and AirPods 5 with wireless charging case are available for preorders today from the Apple Store at $129 and $149 respectively.

Which adapter do you use and is there any latency?

my ex got me airpods and engraved an "I love you" on them. They still work so I don't want to throw them out but it wasn't a particularly great relationship so seeing the engraving (the digital display because I got a silicon case to cover the actual engraving) can still be kinda triggering. They're Airpods Pro Gen 2 btw.

I’m using AirPods Pro 2 and thinking about switching to AirPods 5. Has anyone tried both? Is it worth it? I’d love to hear how the sound, comfort, and everyday experience compare—especially whether I’d miss the noise cancellation.

I’d specifically like to know how the rankings go between the pro 3 pro 2 the new AirPods 5 and AirPods 4 (with anc). Additionally which of these has the best ANC?
r/airpods • u/ibichubu • 11h ago
I love my 4 with ANC. Only thing is I have long hair that comes out to my face, and every time it brushes against the pods it makes a brushing, rustling noise. I always have to tie up my hair to avoid this. Is the 5 the same? Thinking of getting a pair for flights.

I play music on top volume with Spotify adjustment to make the music louder. My AirPods (airpod 4) says that I’m listening to hours of 105 decibels. But I don’t feel any hearing loss or tinnitus. Is there a chance that these measurements are inaccurate given that AirPod 4s are not fully sealed like the pros?

AirPods Pro 3 is currently 179 on Amazon. I see there’s two version for the 5 and both have ANC. Is it worth getting the 3 or is the base model a better value? Coming for AirPods Pro 1

Background:
My audio preference is Neutral. My favorite IEM is CrinEar Reference. My favorite headphone is Hifiman Arya Unveiled with some EQ.
I could not bear listening to music on my Airpods Pro 3. The treble hurt my ears. I only used it for podcast and online business meetings. The noise canceling is pure magic. The battery life and ease of use is top-notch.
Now with iOS 27 EQ, APP3 music becomes much more bearable to me. With spatial audio, it's even enjoyable because you get the soundstage similar to the best soundstage offered by great headphones such as HD800s.
Please refer to my pictures.
Pic #1: What Apple EQ does, in parametric EQ language, according to test by Listener (Apple's AirPods EQ: Is It Any Good?)
Pic #2: What my EQ adjustment would theoretically achieve. Note: This is only done by calculation, I determined my EQ primarily by doing actual A-B tests.
Pic #3: My actual EQ settings.
Happy to discuss more~

I currently use the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and they work great. I have no complaints, and the dual connectivity is a lifesaver.
However, my core setup is entirely Apple:
For those of you who use AirPods pro 3, what am I really missing out on? I assume the sound quality is comparable, so it mostly comes down to ecosystem benefits.
The AirPods Pro 3 would cost me around 22K INR. I’m willing to spend that if the upgrade is truly worth it. I’d love to hear from anyone who has used both to help me make a decision.
Thanks!

I have gotten my second pairs because of this problem and wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues.
The left side of my AirPods 5 have been a bit muffled indoors not outdoors but when I’m inside a building it sounds muffled or disconnected by itself. It also makes a rumbling noise in loud indoor environments and it’s my second pair having the same issue.
I did contact Apple support for help but I wanted to see if anyone else had a similar problem

I recently switched from AirPods 4 to 5 (after losing one of my old AirPods). I’ve been using the new ones for about two weeks now, but I still can’t get used to the way they sound.
The best way I can describe it is that the sound feels more distant, while the bass is stronger. With my AirPods 4, I normally didn’t use them at full volume, but with these I feel like I have to turn the volume up more to get the same effect as with my old ones.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that my ears start popping after I’ve been wearing them for a while. I never had this issue with my AirPods 4. I have listening mode set to off, so it can’t be because of noise cancellation. Even after I take them out, my ears still feel weird for a while, kind of like I’ve just gotten off a plane.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is it just something I need to get used to, or could there something wrong with my AirPods?

To anyone have both Open ear Airpod any version and Earpods . Do you ever listen to one side only and compare the sound of them ? I have an Airpod 2 pro and an old earpod , i often listen to one side only when sleep , i find that listen to earpod on one side make the bass disappear and alot of frequencies in the low mid become boxy , underwater like , i can say it very uncomfortable to listen to the sound of it . I have to buy another Airpod to use right now and consider the Airpod 5 or older version 2nd for cheaper price compare to the pro version but i'm afraid that when listen to Bass music or listen to one side only make the sound worst since these are open ear like the earpods i have .
So my question is "Do Airpods open ear sound enhanced alot since Earpods ?" what are your guys experience ?

Hello everyone,
I have AirPods Pro 2 with the MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C).
My left AirPod has suddenly stopped working and is not charging. Unfortunately, my coverage expired just last week. 😞
Here is what I'm seeing:
I also checked through macOS Terminal:
AirPods Pro - Find My:
Case Battery Level: 94%
Right Battery Level: 100%
Serial Number (Left): XXXXX
Serial Number (Right): XXXXX
There is no "Left Battery Level" reported at all.
So it seems the left AirPod isn't communicating/powering up rather than simply having a speaker issue.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Are there any safe tricks or recovery procedures I can try to bring the left AirPod back to life, especially after being unused for a couple of weeks?
Or does this symptom usually mean the left AirPod battery/power circuit has failed and needs replacement?
Note: I also tried to reset the AirPods using the rear setup button. When I press and hold the button, the LED sequence I observe is:
Amber → brief white → no light for a few seconds → flashing amber → green
However, I never get the expected flashing white light/pairing mode. So I'm not sure whether the reset is actually completing successfully.
I'm hoping to avoid spending a lot on a replacement if there is still something I can try at home.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
Thank you!

Hello everyone!
I have a Gen 2 Airpod and as I was cleaning one side I accidentally broke the little wires inside so it doesn’t work anymore. Mine says in the Bluetooth setting that it’s an A2031 model but all of the ones I found online to buy are A2032. If I buy one of these, will it still pair together? Does it matter if it’s a different number if both are Gen 2?
Thanks for the reply!

Right AirPod Pro 3 sometimes doesn’t charge in the case — anyone else experiencing this?
I’m using the AirPods Pro 3, and I’ve noticed an annoying issue with the right AirPod.
Sometimes when I put it back into the charging case, it doesn’t actually start charging. I have to slightly tweak/move it around or push it down a little until it makes proper contact, and then it starts charging.
The left AirPod seems completely fine.
Has anyone else experienced this with their AirPods Pro 3? Is this likely to be an issue with the charging contacts, the case, or the AirPod itself?
I’ve already made sure there isn’t any obvious dirt/debris in the case.
Should I get it checked/replaced, or is there some fix I’m missing?

On iOS 27 the ANC modes keep switching on in AirPods 5 settings by themselves. It happens after the phone restart. I don't know if only restarting the phone causes this, or if it's a permanent bug.

Hello, I have AirPods Pro 3s I was wondering since iOS 27 got a new equalizer setting if you guys still use headphones accommodations and equalizer or both together. Also since the update my AirPods have been less louder if anyone knows how to fix that.

I’ve been having an issue with my AirPod 4 recently (both L and R). I’d be on a call with someone (either phone call or discord), and after about 30 mins they just stop hearing me entirely, the mic just stops. Then I may call back, and it’s just pure static when they speak.
This only happens with calls or when the mic is being used. If I then try to play music, it’s perfectly fine. To fix the bug, I have to forget the AirPods from my iPhone and reconnect them. This has been happening every single day. How do I fix this?
