Florida jails are legit cold as fuck when you're adapted to our heat. It's like 60° with strong fans constantly. The electricity bill must be absolutely bonkers, which proly inflates their budget so they can pocket the difference from mild winters.

Probably, yes, but prisons and jails regularly violate people's rights (even shitty people have rights) by keeping them in poor conditions. It's possible the officials at their jail are also huge assholes, too

People donāt realize that the majority of people who are sent to jail are there for non-violent drug charges and theyāre also being subjected the same conditions the Tates are.

And no hot water - so cold water in a hot cell?
Not a very good lawyer if he contradicts himself 3 times in a planned sentence to the paper.

Not defending these shit bags at all but after 12 years in the army regardless of where you are in the world from the tropics to the artic... and I have lived in crappy buildings in both and everywhere in between, crappy buildings can be suffocatingly hot sometimes and freezing cold in others. If you can't leave the building or control your clothing/equipment it can be truly awful . Worst I ever had was up in northern Manitoba in Winter on the top floor of an older building was like 115°f when the heat was on and -20° if it was turned off. Stayed in the basement of a building in Hati, it was like 40° at night and I had no blanket, just a rubberized poncho. Equally awful to sleep in. Absolute worst was in northern Alberta, just near the boarder with the NWT, in the early summer. 110° days, 10° nights. Had to carry around artic sleeping gear in areas that felt like the Arizona desert.

Air conditioning means changing the current temperature to either hotter or colder
2
u/TheG00dF1ght 2h ago
technical sure, but in all reality we know it means cooling the air for 99.99999% of people who say AC.
Do you call your furnace your AC?

The term "Air Conditioning" is literally "to condition the air" by changing its temperature. Any assumption that the change should go into the cold direction is user error.Ā

Jail includes a lot of people arrested for, but not convicted of, crimes. Under the law, they are still innocent until proven guilty.
I'm 100% for improving jail conditions.
But I bristle at the implication that Tate deserves better than most folks in jail.

I used to work for a company who did the correctional facility delivery. It was a company that was a stevedore but for some reason we did the prison as well.
Moisturiser was by far the most ordered item by a long way. More than any foods or drinks or hygeine products.
Prisoners really stay well moisturised š¬

Hey, I'm from florida, you have to be on some serious lying bullshit to try and convince somebody that Miami is freezing. So, if it was freezing why would you want AC? You need AC when it is sweltering not when it is freezing
10
u/reynvann65 2h ago
Does anybody really care about this? I mean I'm glad they're both locked up. They've done some really heinous shit. And I'm pretty sure everyone else that's locked up in jail faces a lot of the same conditions. I mean am I supposed to give a crap about this??? What if one of Tate's play toys was my daughter? What then?
17
u/Aggravating_Bat3618 4h ago
Why does anyone see any injustice here?
7
u/FidgitForgotHisL-P 3h ago
I mean, everyone should be treated humanely, even shitheads.
Punishment is for after youāve been convicted, at that point they can be convicted to live in a roach infested ice block with no AC (?), and that would be fine.
But also, this sounds like theyāre trying to make it sound like US jails are as bad as Liberia or some thing. Ā Iām sure theyāre not amazing, theyāre not meant to be, but are they really this bad?

Some people say AC and mean HVAC/climate control. They tend to keep jails on the cold side unless youāre in that insane county of Arizona where they stick you in tents outside.

u/Rescuepets777 3h ago

Lol, that's your average jail experience. Back when I was an addict, I spent many many months in jail. It's cold. You get one itchy blanket and no pillows. Food is mostly a variety of potatoes and some mystery meat chunk. It stinks and the choices for books were terrible.

Aged like milk, because he was implying, that he wasn't poor, which he was, since why else commit a lot of high risk crimes and then just rent the stuff which you claim to own.
Also aged like whine, because aside from the false implication of his wealth, we really do live in a time where rich people rarely go to prison and I'm pretty sure, that Tate would not have ended up there had he been actually rich.
1
u/dinodare 4h ago
Okay but bad people also shouldn't be in prison conditions that bad. You have to have a bare minimum standard.
