Help/Question MC server admin tool for Linux, web GUI, open source, no LLM use?
Howdy, looking for the above.
I tried Pelican, but unfortunately found they do use LLMs, which is a shame.
I just want to be able to manage mods, mod configuration, server properties, start/stop the server, perform a backup, manage the world, etc from a web GUI.

Most Minecrafserver dockers don't use ai, I don't think . Crafty controller is what I use Course if you aren't the one hosting, then it wouldn't work
Trying to find non-ai software is real difficult nowadays , wish you luck

Why not use Pterodactyl, which I believe Pelican is a fork of?

Appreciate the thought but sadly they do allow LLM contributions.
EDIT: Wow, someone is really upset that I don't want to use LLMs, lol. Downvoted all my posts.

Depends on the angle you’re coming at this with, but you could use a pre-LLM contribution version of Pterodactyl (if the contributions have been marked). Assuming your concern is primarily from a code quality perspective.
If you wish not to associate with an organization if they allow LLM contributions from a more moral angle, I honestly think it may be impossible to find anything.

Given that the Linux kernel itself contains LLM generated code these days, it it literally impossible to avoid run a system free of LLM generated code.

The idea is not to completely avoid any and all LLM generated code, it is to minimize it wherever I can, so I can stick to my principles.

Maybe just launch the server manually or with a script or with a systemd service or a docker/podman container then and stop worrying about GUIs?

I use crafty controller which doesn't have a mod manager but you could just upload the mod files yourself. It works well and I don't think it's AI

You might like Calagopus, which does not permit usage of LLMs for writing code directly:
We do not accept PRs that are written, in whole or in part, by AI or LLM tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Cursor, etc.). This includes generated code. Generated commit messages, and generated PR descriptions are generally fine.
...
PRs found to contain AI/LLM-generated contributions will be rejected, regardless of how small the AI-generated portion is.
It really depends on where you draw the line. Most IDEs come with free LLM assisted autocomplete (VSCode, JetBrains). So, even if maintainers are not prompting an AI agent directly, they may be using generated code

I gotta ask since this tool seems to be written by a self-described Artificial Intelligence student. Does it use LLMs?

There's quite a lot of hints (across both the website itself and the screenshots of the app) that generative AI has been used during the development. I can't tell it with 100% confidence now since I'm just on my phone and Minecraft-style generated "design" is generally not that easy spot as the generic Claude design. I'll try to find some time once I'm back on my PC to tell you more.

He studies computer science and is really dedicated for this project. As far as I know no LLMs have been used. Btw this thing has the best UI of anything. And you can connect servers via pterodactyl and forks and ssh

Just asked them in Discord if they use LLMs, they do.

They sure do, and so does everyone else. It’s 2026, even Linus is using LLMs 😂. Just use what you like. You’re not going to find any modern solution here without any LLM assistance whatsoever.

What you're asking for doesn't exist. There are some that use LLMs fairly minimally (focusing on things like localisation, testing and documentation rather than actual functional code) but you won't find any that don't use it at all.
The best you can really hope for is to use ones that have existed for a long time before AI became commonplace to they have less LLM generated code in, but you don't really have the option of avoiding that these days.
