Hey everyone,
I have a full plot worked out for a revenge thriller and I'm looking for a co-writer to develop it with me — someone to help flesh out scenes, dialogue, and characters. Here's the concept:
The setup: Our protagonist is a woman in a position of authority (I'm thinking teacher, like Sridevi's character in Mom, but I'm open to other professions). She's a stepmother to a teenage daughter. Their relationship is strained — the daughter is at that age where she thinks she doesn't need a parent hovering over her, and she especially resents the stepmother's authority.
The inciting incident: The daughter is harassed by three men. The stepmother steps in and protects her — and this happens more than once. Every time the men try to get close to the daughter, the stepmother ruins their plans.
The escalation: Frustrated and furious, the men break into their home, tie both women up, assault them, and rob them. Then they force the stepmother to watch as her daughter is raped in front of her. She's completely helpless. They leave both women for dead — but they're found in time. The cases are registered, but the justice system moves slowly. That's just reality.
The aftermath: While they wait for the courts, the stepmother forces her daughter to keep living — go to college, attend classes, go to therapy. But the daughter is terrified of men, constantly victim-blamed, and harassed by everyone around her.
The turn: The stepmother goes into detective mode. She tracks down all three men. One by one, she kills them. After the first death, the police are confused. After the second, they know it's her. They confront her and beg her to let the law do its job. She acts like she's done nothing.
The climax: For the final kill, the cops are trying to protect the last man while also trying to catch the mother. At the showdown, they almost save him — but in the end, they let her kill him. Then she surrenders. And her stepdaughter witnesses all of it — seeing exactly what her stepmother did for her, and everything she's willing to sacrifice.
The story ends with the daughter seeing her stepmother in a completely new light. Different feelings. Different opinions. A relationship transformed by violence and sacrifice.
What I'm looking for: A co-writer who loves dark, character-driven revenge stories. Someone who can help with pacing, emotional beats, and making the stepmother-daughter relationship feel real and complicated. I want this to be more than just a kill list — I want it to hurt.
If this sounds like your kind of story, comment or DM me. Let's build it together.
