This is why I dont spook deer or turkeys in my yard. They will crash into stuff and destroy it. I just leave them alone

Omg I didn't get what the big deal was until I read this. I thought it like opened a door 🤦♂️
3
u/Entire-Emergency-722 23d ago
Yea but free turkey if it dies
2
u/Snoo-59881 23d ago
Trueeeee. Although, I wouldn’t know what to do with a dead turkey 🤣
2
u/Nevermore_Novelist 20d ago
I'm sure Google would be able to tell you how to prepare a turkey like that.

This video was all I could think about, except it's a whole ass turkey instead of a golf ball.

I've seen more vibrant lawns in war-torn countries, Dave.
What the shit is your problem?
And who tf built your fence? Fisher Price?
20
u/Massive_Low6000 Aug 17 '26
Who doesn’t want turkeys in their yard?
4
13
u/ErisGrey Aug 17 '26
They shit everywhere, and tear up the dirt. I still get excited when I see 3+ clutches in the yard.
7
u/Massive_Low6000 Aug 17 '26
I guess my dog keeps them moving around my property, so I don’t experience the negative effects
1
u/ErisGrey Aug 17 '26
When we get now than 40 in our yard, they'll stand their ground against the dog and the cars for that matter.
I actually had a big Tom that managed to pop my tire on my RX8. It saw it's reflection on the freshly waxed car and thought it was a rival.
1
u/Massive_Low6000 Aug 17 '26
Wow. We do not have those types of numbers. They were brought to almost extinction in NC. They had to stock populations from other states. Their habitat has decreased significantly also.

Was that fence held up with hope?
5
u/Electrical-Act-7170 Aug 16 '26
That plastic fencing isn't at all sturdy. Here in Florida, alligators just run through it.
5
u/OzzAlone Aug 16 '26
Everything in America is

u/austsiannodel Aug 16 '26
Not where I live! We got wood panel fencing that's pretty sturdy, where I live.

everything is out of paper in the US. also what a boring yard is this?
8
u/Repulsive_Mixture917 Aug 15 '26
Yes it is. Also, the fuck you mean boring? What do you want? Blackjack and hookers?
12
u/MorgenKaffee0815 Aug 15 '26
colors aka more plants than grass
3
u/GregBuckingham Aug 15 '26
The far left side looks like it could be a little vegetable garden? Probably what the bird was getting into
1
u/Repulsive_Mixture917 Aug 15 '26
Requires more maintenance and water. Not every lawn is gonna look like Versailles.
11
37
u/Hiimmason- Aug 14 '26
Thats vinyl fencing. Easy to break = easy to repair. Definitely a cheaper option.

u/ExtremePiglet Aug 14 '26
That fence is a metaphor for the current state of America
-23
u/whteverusayShmegma Aug 14 '26
Why does everything have to be political
12
u/ExtremePiglet Aug 14 '26
Every thing outside of yourself in a society is political.
The elites have convinced you to eschew politics and thereby surrender the power to them.

This is the ugliest most boring lawn I have ever seen. These people have the aesthetic taste of a bologna sandwich. Im glad thier fence got a turkey hole in it.
8
u/immersemeinnature Aug 14 '26
I was blessed with a wild female turkey in my wild backyard and was so happy. This guy thinks his shitty plastic fence can hold back nature. I bet he uses tons of chemicals and has a ride on mower, which he loves more than his wife and children.
6
u/PrincipleFlaky Aug 15 '26
And will probably develop Parkinson’s disease as a result (of the lawn care)
1
u/dgbaker93 Aug 14 '26
I shoo turkeys out of my fenced part of my yard bc my dog would fucking eat them.
2
u/PrincipleFlaky Aug 15 '26
Fair, but like an asshole?
1
u/dgbaker93 Aug 15 '26
I mean I say "git" and usher them out. But turkeys are extremely stupid birds. Had one stare at the hole in the fence for like 5 minutes once while I was about 10ft away lmao (it refused to fly)

The houses arent weak
1
u/Mirror_Face_ Aug 16 '26
I love how you are getting downvoted by people that have no idea what they are talking about. Does the US have some cheaply made places? Yes. We only have had 200 years to fill what is almost the size of Europe. Europe has had a few thousand. But most US homes and buildings are misunderstood. They are built for efficiency and to match their environment. Brick houses do terribly in places with frequent earthquakes like the West coast. US culture tends to be tear down the old and build new. This would be extremely expensive and time consuming if everything were built out of brick and concrete. We're not in a fairly tale about big bad wolves people...
4
u/Yanimac Aug 15 '26
Compared to Europe where they’re mostly made out of brick, yes they’re weak. They’re built quickly and poorly.
7
u/Two-One Aug 15 '26
It’s a vinyl fence with vinyl pickets, they flex instead of breaking. Those pieces will go right back in and be fine.
-9
u/SheepskinSour Aug 14 '26
It’s fucked because look at that land. Look at it. Does this lad need all that?

Cheaper materials, shoddy workmanship = $$$ Profit $$$
I once got the pleasure of rebuilding a 70k kitchen where the previous (licensed and insured lmaaoo) yokels straight up broke cabinets, ordered the wrong cabinets, and incorrectly mounted cabinets. They also 'did the wiring' (it was a fire hazard) and tried to convince the homeowners that cheap foam baseboard molding was solid wood crown molding.
No, they weren't taken to court. "Too much effort". Whatever Jan, I didn't waste nearly 100k on morons and then wildly underpay the '''''family friends''''' that saved your entire kitchen.

Wild turkeys weigh around 18 lbs and have a wingspan of almost 5 ft. Also, you have to factor in the weight of pure spite which every turkey is conceived with and nurtures from hatching to heat death. Your fence didn’t stand a chance, good sir.

u/Old_Cod2351 Aug 13 '26

How much will that cost him?
3
23
u/Ernomouse Aug 13 '26
Based on the apparent quality of the fence, the real cost is going to be the time spent finding the stapler and attaching the fallen sheets back up.

Is this a guineafowl? If so, they don't have much going for them intelligence-wise - they often forget they can fly. I often watch them running to the hedge and ambling around mindlessly, trying to figure out how to get to the other side. At least their plumage is pretty.

Why do I always see American fences made out of paper?
-2

u/Knotical_MK6 Aug 13 '26
These vinyl fences are popular because they're cheap. When you've got a big yard and you're just looking for a visual barrier, the price of a nice wood fence can be hard to swallow
2
9
u/ha1fway Aug 13 '26
Don’t forget that the builder of your neighborhood also owned the HOA until the last house was sold and wrote into the covenants that you can only use one specific type of shitty vinyl fence that happens to only be sold by one company that they also happen to own.
Subdivision next to me is littered with this trash.
3
3
72
u/PROUDCIPHER Aug 13 '26
That is some sub-par fencing if I've ever seen it. like damn bro a bird walked into your fence and it fell over
4
u/Jazzy1oh1 Aug 13 '26
I hate expensive decorative fences. These fences do nothing but block sight. They degrade faster than wood and aren't as attractive to me.
9
12
u/Lintlee Aug 13 '26
Yeah... Is that fence made of cardboard, or something. I can run into my fence full speed and the only thing that'd break would be me.
