This happened to my back windshield one day.

I had to watch the video bc I was almost sure something broke it.

It spontaneously broke just like this.

Was it a Ford Explorer?  Somewhere from 2004-2010 model?

This one wasn't spontaneous. He hit the edge of the panel on the corner of the metal frame trying to place it.

Also had my sunroof spontaneously explode. I suspect the sun on the outside and air conditioner on the inside made it happen. Just an empty road on a nice hot day and then BOOM.

For insurance reasons, all parties agreed it must have been a stray rock afterall because the insurance couldn't understand that it was spontaneous, that there was just no way that could have happened.

Did your sunroof have tint film on it? I know aftermarket tinting can cause sunroofs to spontaneously shatter.

No, just stock tinting. Maybe it was a stray bullet or a meteorite.

Some tempered glass is just on a timer. A tiny NiS inclusion in the wrong place will eventually cause spontaneous shattering.

Was the defroster on?

No. Sunny day 75° even weather.

I read up on it. Apparently it’s a thing that happens.
