Oh you mean like the waste belonging to any mining or oil operation? Radioactive waste has a lifespan, arsenic, chromium VI, lead and dozens of other poisons that are brought to the surface will be there for much longer.

Are you saying the sun doesn’t cause cancer?

We are talking about a technique to recycle nuclear fuel. Much like recycling glass, fibreglass or other man made toxic substances from solar panels or wind blades.
